This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at the office of the Association, Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 15th day of April, 1944, in accordance with request made by self - Mr. [5004], new Associate Member of the Ass”n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc.

Time of Reading Set bet. 10:30 to 11:30 A. M. Eastern War Time. …, Ohio.

1. GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving the cause of the existing conditions, also suggestions for help and relief of this body; answering the questions, as I ask them.

2. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [5004].

3. As we find, there are disturbances preventing the normal balance, especially at times through the body. These have come from adhesions and lesions in the bronchi and larynx, producing bronchial asthmatic reactions in the body.

4. We find that these come from a pleural conditions which existed in times back when the body was very young. First there was caused this strain where there are the lesions. Thus with cold, congestion, being overheated or getting too cold, there is brought on an asthmatic spell. Certain foods - as sweets or certain pollens cause the same character of reaction.

5. For the greater improvements we find that the body should go to a climate such as that near or at Albuquerque, New Mexico.

6. To purify the gland forces and allow a better circulation we would take regularly each day a one-grain Calcidin tablet. Thus there may be brought better conditions for the body.

7. Ready for questions.

8. (Q) Should I continue to take adrenalin? (A) As we find, it would be much better to change to the other climate and to take Calcidin, made by Abbott & Company, Chicago.

9. (Q) Will I ever be cured of asthma? (A) This depends upon whether the measures are taken in regard to the climatic changes and the adding to the system of those things that may take away the lesions. But it will require long periods.

R1. 11/8/50 Reply to Questionnaire: ”…Asthma - chronic since 16 yrs. old. Severe until I was 26 yrs. and would reoccur during severe colds. The intensity was such that I required adrenalin intradermally. …In answer to the notation ‘pleural condition which existed when very young’, I developed asthma after a very severe flu. I practically lived in the water during the summer - coming home for lunch, back to the beach in the afternoon. For two successive summers during August the flu confined me to bed where I was delirious for some time. Some time after this asthma developed…”

R2. 5/7/57 Letter from [5004]: ”…I had followed your suggestions on medication as suggested in the reading, with moderate relief rather than improvement. However, my health has not been good and we are planning a trip to the West this summer…”
