GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving the cause of the existing conditions, also suggestions for help and relief of this body; answering the questions, as I ask them:
-
EC: Yes, we have the body here, [5048].
-
As we find, there are disturbing conditions. These, as we find, are somewhat of long standing, as there has been and still exists, the effect of an injury to the circulation, as related to coordination of the cerebrospinal and sympathetic nervous systems. This we find rather definite as to its location, while the effects produced are quite at variance to the location of the disturbance. There has been a pressure, long existent, in the upper portion of the 9th dorsal center. This, as with changes in eliminations of the body, the cycle of the changes coming about, produced greater and greater hindrances to the impulses to the brain center.
-
There is in the central lobe of the right side a growth, or thickening of tissue, lessening the impulses, which, as it does, brings disturbance to the mental as well as to the physical reactions in the body.
-
As we find then, for such a situation, operative measures would be impractical. There can be, as we find, an allaying, and with proper precautions, and with the correct general attitude of those about the body, we may bring help, and even a renewal of energies as to dissipate this thickening in the brain tissue. This, to be sure, has not reached great proportions, for it has at times come and then gone. This indicates how this, then, may be materially aided.
-
We would begin with this:
-
Use the low Wet Cell Appliance. Carry into the system vibratorially these properties in the present to dissipate the disturbance: Spirits of Camphor, commercial strength, and Nitrate of Silver. The vibrations should be of an Appliance just a bit heavier than regular; that is, use two pounds of Copper Sulphate and the others in proportion. The Camphor: make the attachment of the small plate at the upper portion of the 9th dorsal, and to the left side. The larger plate through which solution passes into the body would each time be attached at the umbilical and lacteal duct center. This would be the width of two fingers from the navel center to the right, and three fingers up from that point. The Nitrate of Silver: one ounce of 2% solution, and then add one ounce of water, and one ounce of grain alcohol, making three ounces of solution, should be attached to the lower portion and the right side of the 9th dorsal center. Use one solution one day, the other the next day for thirty minutes.
-
Follow same each day with a massage over the whole body, especially along each side of the cerebrospinal system, following the sympathetic nerve area the more, especially at the 1st and 2nd cervical a great deal of massage, and at the 3rd cervical, and the 1st, 2nd and 3rd and 4th dorsal. These movements in giving the massage should be close to the segments, as well as the sympathetic area. Massage in a circular motion, but away from the head. The lower portion also, that is, upward to the 9th dorsal; from the end of the spine upward. Massage the limbs and body every day also. Use for such massaging these oils:
Olive Oil…2 ounces, Peanut Oil…2 ounces, Lanolin (melted)…1/4 ounce.
-
Do this, be consistent, be persistent.
-
Change the solution every thirty days.
-
Disconnect the solution from the Appliance when not in use. Do take those connections especially from the container with the solution to treat the body.
-
Do keep bowels moving normally. Have at least one or two good evacuations each day, even though it is necessary to take a laxative, and the use of a colonic irrigation.
-
The colonic irrigations every eighteen to twenty days would be well anyway.
-
Do these and we should make better conditions.
-
Ready for questions.
-
(Q) Is there any pathology in the female organs and glands, causing this condition? (A) This is rather from the conditions as indicated, from an injury as associated with, as indicated, the changes in activity of the female organs. That there is some irritation in the vagina is indicated. When there is some irritation, take douches of Glyco-Thymoline, the proportion to be two tablespoons of Glyco-Thymoline to one quart of water used. Use this only at body temperature, and only in a fountain syringe.
-
(Q) Is there any brain degeneration which would be helped by the electric shock treatment? (A) As has been indicated, there is only a thickening or hardening, loosing the ridges in the outer portion, but the thickening is towards the right lobe and in the center. Electric shock treatments would be too severe. Begin with the low electrical treatments suggested here, that will dissipate and not overcharge the brain.
-
(Q) Does this condition have a psychological basis? How to correct, if so? (A) To be sure.
-
(Q) How can the appetite be improved? (A) As indicated, as there is a cleansing of the fecal forces in the colon, there gradually will be builded a better appetite. Foods that are easily digested will be preferable, though green foods and raw foods are preferable when possible, though these foods will have to be prepared temptingly for the body. Build up to it by the mental suggestions.
-
(Q) How may the blood pressure be raised, and the circulation increased? (A) As has been indicated.
-
We are through with this reading.

Reports
Reports & Follow-up
R1. 5/5/44 Husband’s letter to A. M. Godfrey: “I have just had a reading from Mr. Cayce for my wife, and he recommends the use of a low Wet Cell Appliance and suggests that I send you the following instructions… I will appreciate getting this as soon as possible… My good friend [849] wishes me to tell you that he is making very fine progress, and feeling better than he has felt in years. Incidentally, he said if I mentioned his name, that you would make a special effort to get me this equipment at as early a date as possible.”
R2. 5/5/44 Husband’s letter: “I am this day in receipt of the reading given for my wife, May 1st. I want to thank you for the promptness in having this reading. I have made arrangements for the treatments in accordance with your instructions, and I am sure they will be beneficial. Personally, I feel some results already, as I have been much depressed, not being able to do anything for my wife. The fact that we have something definite to work on is stimulating, to say the least. With kindest personal regards…”
R3. 5/8/44 EC’s reply: “Thank you for yours of the 5th. I feel badly for not having thanked you for all the kindness shown me while I was in Florida. It was as little as I could do - to try and help, though I know very well it is not of myself when help comes. I do hope the suggestions in the reading will bring some help for your wife. Please remember me to her. I am anxious to know what the nurse thought of the treatment suggested. Thanks too, for the oranges… I never have thanked you for taking me to Lakeland. That was lovely of you, and your son, as was everything else you did for me… Do let me know how your wife comes along…”
R4. Note: The final reading on this case was given six weeks later. See 5048-2.
Background
Background
B1. Born 10/17/92 in Michigan; married; three children.
B2. Mrs. [5048] and her husband were neighbors of Mr. [849]. Since her illness was of a stubborn nature and had not responded to medical treatment, Mr. [849] talked about Mr. Cayce, mentioning that EC was coming to Florida in April 1944. As a result of this conversation, Mrs. [5048]‘s husband called on Mr. Cayce while he was vacationing there, requesting a reading for his wife. EC told him to mail the application to Virginia Beach, at which time an appointment would be made.
B3. 7/10/44 Mr. [849]‘s letter to EC: “Please ask Mrs. Cayce to watch these questions carefully, because I am almost certain they will all be answered in the body of the reading. Ask her just to listen and make up any question which she thinks is needed. Perhaps Gladys could also do that. Mrs. [5048] will be at the home of her son, …, Fla. (1) Is there any brain pressure or nerve pressure caused by a fall or other injury? (2) Would diathermy help, and where should it be applied? (3) Massage; where? (4) How to build up the whole body; weight; circulation; muscle tone; energy; blood pressure, etc.? (5) Treatments to ask for: improve appetite, increase circulation, raise blood pressure, remove nerve tension, break down the ‘wall in the brain’ or the ‘shut down’.” [The additional questions submitted are at end of the Physical Reading.]
