GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time, giving the cause of the existing conditions, also suggestions for help and relief of this body; answering the questions as I ask them.
-
EC: Yes, we have the body here.
-
As we find from the combination of disturbances, there has come about this infection in the respiratory and pulmonary centers. While the area affected is not large, remaining quiet only is not as good for the body as activity in the open would be. There should be rest, but walking in the open would be helpful in supplying to the body-energies the conditions that will prevent spreading of infections through the circulation, and belittling, or lessening the activity in the digestive forces and the activity made in the blood supply for a stronger circulation; thus we may entirely rid the body of this disorder.
-
First we would give that there be used the brandy keg. This should be at least 1 1/2 to 2 gallons in size. Use an oak keg, charred inside. In this keg place at least one-half gallon or three quarts of apple brandy. Make the vents in same so that the fumes or gas that arises from the brandy may be inhaled directly into the lungs themselves. This will act not only as an antiseptic, but will so change the lung tissue as to bring about healing of the lung tissues, and will also increase the abilities of assimilation, and we will have improvement. The two vents in the keg are to be fixed so that only the gas that forms from the evaporation will be inhaled, hence keep the keg close to heat at times, but keep it well corked except when the body is to inhale through the mouth, and the tube placed in the vent for same. Inhale these fumes into the lungs at least twice each day.
-
We would also take Calcios. Take the quantity that may be spread on a whole wheat wafer three times each week, and if weakness is felt, when there is activity in the open and sunshine.
-
This may be taken in the present environ, as the weather improves, though in the country, not in a sanatorium or city, in the open country where there may be good care, plenty of running water and plenty of the foods as may be indicated. Also there should be plenty of good whole milk that has been tested, and this to be used not only in the regular diet, but use this with an egg and malt beaten in same and take about every other day, or more often, if it agrees with the body. The milk should be whole milk, warm from the body heat of the cow, see?
-
Also use Acigest once a week in the beginning, for this is to make better assimilation; better digestion so that strength and resistance will be built and there will be a better supply not only in the red blood cells, but of the leukocytes that will strain through the blood supply and choke off any infection.
-
Keep elimination good.
-
In the diet take strengthening foods. Take beef juice at least once or twice a day. Have no fat in the beef, and take only the beef juice, though it may be seasoned to taste.
-
Have fowl also, and take this in the manner which is most palatable for the body, but not fried. Small chickens, or squirrels, rabbit, or any wild game or birds are preferable. Any of these are good for the body. Chew the bones when masticating some, as this will add to the strength and blood building and resistance of the body. Use whole wheat bread altogether; very little white potatoes; no white bread, spaghetti or macaroni. Vegetables are very well, especially those that may be eaten raw. Prepare the raw vegetables with gelatin often. This may be used with salad dressing, if this is desirable, or with salad oils.
-
Do this and we may rid the body entirely of these disturbances. Keep in the open, and do take a little exercise, and it will be better for the body.
-
Have about the body pleasant environment and let the spiritual attitude of the entity be much better. These we find will bring relief for the body.
-
Ready for questions.
-
(Q) What caused this condition in the lungs? (A) As has been indicated, this is a combination of anxiety of the body and not contact with those sources from which the infection arose. Do as outlined.
-
We are through with this reading.

Background
Background
B1. When Mr. Cayce was in Florida, he met Mrs. [5053]‘s father. They became friendly, and the father seemed interested in Mr. Cayce’s work. In due course, he requested a reading for his daughter. However, A.R.E. files have no record of an application blank having been submitted for her. Such membership blank usually gives personal data.
B2. 1/15/44 Father’s letter: “I have just returned from …, Fla. where I had a very nice visit with Mr. [257]. He suggested that I enclose the questions wanted for my wife, Mrs. [4032] and my daughter, Mrs. [5053]… I would like to have these readings as soon as possible. My wife will be at our home in …, Fla… My daughter will be in the … County Sanitarium of …, Mich. Her room is the next to the last one on the left hand side on the south side of the building. Mr. [257] thought you would accommodate me by working in these readings at the earliest date possible…”
B3. 1/24/44 Father’s letter: ”…The readings for my wife and me on March 22 will answer. I feel, however, that in the case of my daughter, the time is too far off. She expects to be out of the hospital by that time. We are very anxious about her condition and therefore feel that you should accommodate me by getting her reading earlier than our date. I expect to be in …, Fla. until some time in May and therefore will be glad to see you any time you can come down here. Trusting that you will be able to rearrange my daughter’s date, I remain.”
B4. 2/2/44 EC’s reply: “The only possible other period I could give for your daughter is the afternoon of Sunday March 19. Will that be satisfactory?…
B5. 2/8/44 Father’s letter: “Your letter of the 2nd at hand, stating that you have set March 19 for my daughter’s reading. She is confined to the … County sanitarium which is located in …, Mich. Her room is next to the last one on the west end of the 4th floor. I think this location will answer your purpose. I will want the reading sent to me, and I will forward it to her. Thanking you for changing the date…”
B6. 3/8/44 Father’s letter: ”…The afternoon of May 5 will be all right for my daughter now in the … County Sanitarium. I have not said anything to her about it, but I would like to have the reading and submit it to her afterwards.”
B7. 3/8/44 Questions submitted by father [worded by Mr. [257] previous to reading]: “Please give complete physical, mental and spiritual reading on my daughter, and tell her the causes of all conditions now existent in body, that that is not in perfect condition, giving time they occurred and what to do to cure same. Then answer these questions: (1) How serious is the condition in lungs? (2) How large is infection? (3) When did it begin? (4) Please give complete treatment to bring body to normal in detail. (5) Should body remain in bed all the time - if not, how long and when? (6) What diet is best for the body’s recovery? (7) Where best for her to live for next 12 months or period in which to recover and where? (8) Who would be the best doctor to treat body? (9) What other conditions in body need attention and care? (10) How long will it take with suggested treatments to see results? (11) Can a complete cure be effected? (12) Advise how mental attitude can help improvement? (13) How often necessary to check through these sources for progress? (14) What exercise or exertion can body take and how long?” [The additional question submitted is at end of 5053-1.]
