GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving the cause of the existing conditions, also suggestions for help and relief of this body; answering the questions, as I ask them.
-
EC: Yes, we have the body here, [5059]; this we have had before, you see. [No record of earlier rdgs. on file.]
-
As we find, there have been many changes in the general physical forces of the body. Activities through the body have been the result of natural deterioration from age. These are more in the subconscious self than necessarily through the body itself, but in the present there are specific conditions that are disturbing.
-
There is the lack of coordination of the sensory system. Thus the vision deteriorating causes great anxieties to the body.
-
We find that these may be retarded and there may be brought considerable ease from the distress.
-
We would have those activities in the areas of the upper dorsal and through the cervical, from which the sympathetic and the sensory systems maintain their better connection with the central nerve and blood supply. These we would do through the mechanical or osteopathic stimulating, by massage, of the centers from the kidneys to the first cervical, or from the lower portion of the 9th dorsal upward; just in reverse from the way these treatments are ordinarily given. Do not try to make corrections but manipulate the muscular forces about the centers and patches of the emunctory circulation in 9th dorsal, 6th dorsal, 3rd and 4th and 2nd dorsal, 3rd cervical, and then in the 1st and 2nd, and connect same with the nerves of face and head. This should be a gentle massage, osteopathically given. If Peanut Oil is used for the massaging it will make for better supplying of the abilities for radiation of the activities of the nerve plasma in the centers indicated to coordinate better, and thus supply energies to the body-forces. Such osteopathic manipulations we would have about twice each week.
-
Each day, for at least an hour, we would use the Wet Cell Appliance as the Radio-Active is ordinarily used. Or, to this body, connect directly to the body-forces in the right wrist, left ankle; left wrist, right ankle. This would be to recharge the central nerve system as related to the sensory system, rather than carrying vibrations of chemical forces into the body.
-
Following the Appliance treatment each day we would give a massage using the Peanut Oil.
-
Thus we will bring better conditions for the body.
-
Supply energies in the body through a great deal more of raw vegetables, rather than meats for this body. Do have the vegetables often such as celery, lettuce, carrots, especially carrots - and these may be oft juiced, as well as grated or chopped fine and prepared with gelatin. Not so as to become obnoxious to the body, but supply these elements often for the body. When the juicer is used, just drink the carrot juice. This is well.
-
For the irritation of the eye itself, until there are better coordinations set up, apply occasionally once a week, or whenever there is irritation - the Irish potato poultice. Scrape the potato and apply directly over the eye socket, letting it remain on for at least half an hour to an hour. Then remove and wash or cleanse with half water and half Glyco-Thymoline as an antiseptic, to cleanse the secretions as will be drawn from the eye with the application.
-
Thus we will bring better conditions for this body.
-
We are through with this reading.

Background
Background
B1. 12/18/43 [5059]‘s letter: “I am writing to ask that you have a rdg. for me, for general conditions. I am especially concerned about my eyes. If the enclosed is not sufficient, please notify me.”
B2. 12/23/43 EC’s reply: “I have yours of the 18th, and I wish we might be able to make an appointment right away for you, but we are from 9 to 12 months in advance with them… We are sending you the data necessary for making an appointment… Under the circumstances, of course, we are returning your check… If you have not read ‘There Is A River’, be sure and do so.”
B3. 1/26/44 Sister [5060]‘s ltr.: “Sometime ago, I wrote you for my sister, Mrs. [5059]. I was writing for her, because she cannot see well enough to write herself… We have read ‘There Is A River’, and my sister had it reviewed in the Current Events Club by a friend as her program. Because of her eyes, she was not able to do it herself. It was greatly enjoyed… My sister, Mrs. [5059] has almost lost her eyesight… Doctors hold out little hope, and say there is little that can be done. If only we can find a remedy in time - before she goes blind. At present, nothing is being done. She is taking osteopathy, her own decision and judgment. I understand you are far behind in your readings. We must not ask or expect special favors, for there is urgency in every case, but we shall be so glad when you can get to her reading that we may have more hope…”
B4. 2/21/44 Dr. Posey’s ltr.: ”…My patient, Mrs. [5059] will get a rdg., I think, she says 21 April. A very interesting case. I am so anxious to get your diagnosis and treatment for her. While she has improved a great deal, I feel that you can be the means of wonderful results. May God bless you in your great work.”
