GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving the cause of the existing conditions, also suggestions for help and relief of this body; answering the questions, as I ask them:
-
EC: Yes, we have the body here, [5063].
-
As we find, there are disturbances here. These are more perceptible in the activities of the plethoric condition existent in the colon itself. These are the sources of the pressures in the circulation that make for the irregularity to the heart’s activity, causing an abnormal pressure. For one of this age, unless corrected, it will become a constitutional disorder.
-
While just cleansing the system will aid, it allows the circulation between the heart and the liver to engorge the circulation through or along the thrombose area, and this engorgment will make for general activities of weakness and the inability of the body to be normal in its activities, either in the open or in its regular routine, with less and less ability to labor or be active within the close confines.
-
First there should be the cleansing of the colon. This should be done scientifically, but do not attempt to go too fast or to relieve the whole tension at once. Rather let this cover a period of some three weeks apart and have at least three or four of such irrigations. Do cleanse the colon through such, that there are not any indications of mucous from the stools.
-
Do use, not so much corrections in the osteopathic or mechanical manner, but - a stimulation to the segments along the spine, especially in those areas from the 3rd cervical to the 8th dorsal; using the cup applicator of the electrically driven vibrator, so that on and along and between the segments there is a stimulation to the patches of the emunctories which, in their circulation, carry the lymph and the impulses in sympathetic activities.
-
These do, and then be mindful that there are daily evacuations or eliminations through the alimentary canal.
-
Use more vegetables in the diet and less meats of any kind; though certain characters, as fowl or lamb, may be taken in moderation. The greater portion of the diet, however, should consist of the various characters of vegetables, but eat two to three of those that grow above the ground to one that grows under the ground.
-
Whenever it is necessary, but not too often, do have the colon kept in a healthy condition by the purifying of same.
-
Thus we will find the pressure on the heart’s circulation, the activities of the liver will improve, and we will have better conditions through this body.
-
Do that.
-
Ready for questions.
-
(Q) What causes the plethoric condition in colon? [This was GC’s questions for clarification.] (A) Lack of proper attention to the eliminations, which has allowed the ascending and transverse colon, and especially in that area just before descending, to become engorged. Thus the pressures that have caused periods of irregularity in the heart’s activity.
Do as has been given. A hydrotherapist or a good nurse used to giving colonics should be used for giving these treatments.
The vibrations from the electrically driven vibrator should be given at least twice each week. Take the time to give this, as a thorough treatment; not just something to be gotten through with.
- We are through with this reading.

(If you have difficulty getting started with these treatments, we would refer you to Dr. Mary Miller, 105 No. Van Ness Ave., Los Angeles, who has had experience with following Mr. Cayce’s readings.)
Reports
Reports & Follow-up
R1. 5/25/44 Letter: “I wish to thank you… I have delayed this long to write this letter so that I might be able to tell you that I have contacted Dr. Miller whom you mentioned and have begun the treatment suggested in the reading. I hope that through this newly gained knowledge, I will be able to regain my complete health soon…”
R2. 7/5/44 Letter: “I never really thought that I would have to write a letter asking for a check physical reading, but this case appears to be more stubborn than first believed. When I received the first reading, I read it over carefully and it mentioned about the other existing conditions, but not the one which is most troublesome. Still, I felt that if the treatment suggested was followed out, it might help it too. But I haven’t seen any improvement concerning this condition, as yet. I have had one colonic and because my condition seemed quite good, they said I didn’t need any more. Also, I’m taking radionic treatments and adjustments. I’m following out the diet you suggested and also at home, I have been having vibrator treatments with the electric vibrator. I have been trying hard to follow out your suggestions as closely as possible. This gynecological condition has been existing for the past 5 1/2 years. During this time, I have seen a number of doctors in hopes that they would tell me definitely what is wrong, but to no avail. Lately, it has been said that this might be caused from an abnormal structure in the extreme lower portion of the body, thus causing this abnormal vaginal bleeding. Also it has been said that an operation might be necessary to regulate this abnormality. Mr. Cayce, if you only would be able to give a check reading real soon… I am hoping that you will be able to see what is causing this irregularity and if an operation is absolutely necessary…”
R3. 7/24/44 Letter: “Your being able to make an appointment for a check physical reading for me…has indeed made me very happy. The questions I do so much care to ask are: (1) What is causing this abnormal vaginal bleeding? (2) Does the abnormal structure in the lower portion of the body have anything to do with this irregularity? (3) Is an operation necessary to regulate this abnormal flowing or can it be regulated without it? (4) What is needed to be done to help regulate this continuous abnormal bleeding? I have enclosed a history of my case and I tried to make it as complete as possible. Once again, I wish to thank you for setting the appointment for my check reading so soon…
In October 1938, I began to menstruate. Instead of being a regular period and then stopping, it continued on. We thought it would become regulated within a few weeks so nothing was done. When it showed no signs of stopping, we went to see a neighborhood doctor. He didn’t know just what was causing this trouble, but he thought injections would help, so I began taking them each week. After a few months of this treatment - without any improvement - I decided to try elsewhere. Mother took me to the clinic, thinking that I surely would be able to be helped there. After taking a complete physical examination, they diagnosed the condition as Idiopathic metrorrhegia and decided that injections be given weekly. Along with this, I was to take daily a number of pills - a few were vitamin capsules and the others were supposed to help this condition. This I did for the following year and still no improvement. Also, during this year, I had one hemorrhage. Still there was no improvement.
We decided to stop this treatment for a while so we could go to another doctor to hear what he had to say about this abnormality. He, too, didn’t know what was causing this trouble, but he prescribed pills. I did as he suggested, hoping that he would be able to help, but after going to him for 6 months, I could see no help from his treatments. When he last examined me he said this might be caused from a tumor
- although he couldn’t find any at the time. He said to wait 6 months, and then come back to see if it was a tumor. I was really becoming discouraged and didn’t know just what to do next. The only thing we could think of was to go back to the clinic and see if they found out anything else that might help. Nothing different was done. They again started the injections and the prescription for pills. This was continued for about 9 months. None of the doctors I had seen there knew what it is caused from, but they all thought that the condition would clear up as I grew older. But this definitely does not seem to be so. On the average, the bleeding each day for the past few years has been more than it was when the abnormality started. Around this time, I was beginning to have more days of heavy bleeding and hemorrhage during a year. At the time it was thought that these hemorrhages might be periods but they were much too heavy and didn’t appear regularly.
Conditions were definitely not getting any better, and I became very tired of so much doctoring without seeing good results, so I decided to quit these treatments and just leave things alone for a while. This I did for a while - about 3 months, until I began to menstruate very heavily again. This time, mother took me to see another doctor. I was his patient for about 3 years. During that time I had taken a large quantity of pills - which were supposed to regulate this abnormality - a liquid medicine, series of injections
- all without benefit. Also, during this time, I have had quite a few hemorrhages. The only benefit I could see was the few times I would be free from bleeding for a few days or a week. The doctor noticed that my blood pressure was quite high and he said he didn’t know what was causing it. Also, I had been occasionally having weak spells. I became most discouraged with these treatments when the abnormal conditions continued to prevail and no improvements were seen, so I discontinued these treatments. At this time, I luckily received the issue of ‘Coronet’ containing the article about Mr. Cayce. Along with my first reading, Mr. Cayce had referred me to Dr. Miller so I went to see her. For the past 2 months, I have been taking her treatments. Dr. Miller after examining me, said that this abnormal bleeding might be caused from the congenital abnormal structure. In the first reading, Mr. Cayce was able to find the cause of the other existing conditions, and I only hope that in this check reading…Mr. Cayce will be able to see what is causing this abnormal vaginal bleeding and what will regulate it…”
R4. 9/5/44 The appointment for the Check Physical Reading was cancelled due to EC’s illness.
R5. 3/1/45 Letter: “It was indeed sad news to hear that Mr. Cayce passed from this life. I am sure that he is being rewarded in heaven for all the help and kindness he bestowed upon others during his life. You have my deepest sympathy. P.S. Kindly send me a copy of the ‘Common Cold’ and a year’s subscription to the Weekly Readings extracts. You may refund the remainder of the $10. sent in advance for my Check Physical Reading.”
R6. 9/11/45 Postal Card to GD: “I would like to continue to receive your Diary Letter.”
R7. 3/22/50 Questionnaire sent. No reply.
R8. 8/29/52 No record of verbal or written contact on case since 9/11/45.

(1) What was the cause of this illness? (2) What treatment I needed in order to get well? (3) Are the occasional weak spells and high blood pressure caused from this illness? (4) Will it take very long to regain good health? (5) If in the reading, there is suggested osteopathic or chiropractic treatments - will it make any difference to which osteopath or chiropractor I go to? I do not know of any right now, and I would want to receive the best possible results.”
