This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at the office of the Association, this 19th day of April, 1944, in accordance with request made by the self - Mrs. [5065], new Associate Member of the Ass”n for Research and Enlightenment, Inc., through Mr. U. L. L.

1. GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving the cause of the existing conditions, also suggestions for help and relief of this body; answering the questions, as I ask them:

2. EC: Canon Street - yes, unusual looking.

3. Yes, we have the body and those disturbances and desires of the body, [5065].

4. As we find, there are disturbances which prevent the better physical functioning in the body, arising from a condition which has been existent with the body for some time.

5. First it began with an upsetting of the digestive system. Then there were periods under which the body was in great mental distress, aggravated; and these combined with the congestions produced from aggravation and the upsetting have caused conditions in liver and kidneys to become greatly disturbed.

6. Hence these produce gradually an incoordination between the eliminations of the kidneys and the eliminations from the excretory functioning of the liver itself, and very poor eliminations through alimentary canal.

7. At various times there have been those applications which have in part broken up the congestions in portions of the body-functionings; yet these have not been entirely eliminated from the system.

8. Thus we have the various forms of distress through the body; some irregularity in pulsation or heart’s activity, at other times disturbances through lungs, heaviness in the lower portion of lungs, lacking of ability to get a good, long breath, often deep signs without apparent cause. Each portion of the conditions seeks expression. The sickness through the lower portion of stomach because of those disturbances in the liver. Frequent activities and at times excesses of activity in the kidneys and the bladder, distress in the pancreas and in the spleen.

9. As we find, if there would be brought about the better conditions, we would first begin with applying Castor Oil Packs over the liver and gall duct and caecum area; at least 3 thicknesses of flannel saturated with Castor Oil, applied directly to that area of the body from just below the rib to the lower portion of the caecum on the right side; extending to about the central portion of the body. After the Pack has been covered so as to prevent soiling linens, apply the electric pad. Let this be kept very warm for an hour. Then sponge off with a little soda water, and the next day apply again in the same manner. Do this each day for three days in succession.

10. After the three-day series of applying the Packs, take internally 2 tablespoonsful of Olive Oil.

11. Then, not at the same time the Oil is taken, but the same afternoon or the next morning, take a colonic irrigation - or have this done scientifically.

12. Begin then with the gentle massages following the hydrotherapy treatments, which should include Fume Baths or Sweat Baths. Use Witchhazel for the Fumes, a tablespoonful to a pint of water that would be boiling in the cabinet to produce the fumes, so that the fumes settle over the body.

13. When the body is sponged or showered off after such a Fume Bath, massage the body thoroughly with this combination of oils:

Olive Oil…2 ounces, Peanut Oil…2 ounces, Lanolin (melted)…1/4 ounce.

14. In the diet have more of the raw vegetables; not so much fats or heavy meats. Fowl, wild game, such as birds or wild fowl of any kind, or squirrel or rabbit or the like, will be very well, but not heavy meats. No fried foods.

15. Do these and we should bring better conditions for this body.

17. (Q) Has there been any improvement as a result of the efforts of the doctors? (A) As indicated, that has been scattered through the system without eliminating the sources or causes of the disturbances.

18. (Q) Why do I worry so much for members of my family? (A) As indicated, there are the expressions of the lack of coordination between sympathetic and cerebrospinal systems. This is a natural result of the disturbances sometime ago, causing much of this disorder between the imaginative or sympathetic and cerebrospinal systems.

19. (Q) Do my husband’s financial problems affect my physical condition? (A) To be sure, when the body allows itself to worry. This should not be, but do the things indicated - we will have better conditions.

20. We are through with this reading.

B1. 12/19/43 Mr. U. L. L.’s letter: “I left Norfolk in a hurry, and when I packed my things I made sure that your pamphlet was secured in my bags. I secured it so good that it delayed me in sending you the blanks which I am enclosing, together with the post office money order for $40. I have traveled many parts of our country before coming to my baggage… I should have given you the money when I visited you in October… I have very much faith in you. This is why I am sending another blank for Mrs. [5065] who needs our help. She has suffered so much that she hates to recall the years gone by. I must close now, Mr. Cayce, as I’ll have to get ready to go to church. Merry Christmas… Mrs. [5065] does not even expect a gift such as this one we’re giving.”

B2. 1/29/44 [Written for Mrs. [5065]] Mr. U. L. L.’s [Antonio Ulloa] letter: ”…I am very glad that an early appointment has been made, even if you are far in advance. I think it is very nice of you to give me a Physical Reading. Yes, Mr. Cayce, I consent to it. It will find me in …, Calif. (1) Is my liver going to be in a better condition? (2) My kidneys bother me so much; will I ever be relieved of such trouble? (3) Have the doctors helped me, especially the last one? Please send my reading to Mr. U. L. L. in …, Calif., as he does all my writing. I do not write English, nor do I read it to understand it.” [The additional questions submitted are at end of 5065-1.]

B3. 4/14/44 Mr. U. L. L.’s [Antonio Ulloa] letter: “I am writing this letter at the request of Mrs. [5065] who has very much faith in any person who is always trying to help her. I am also a member of the Association, and do all of Mrs. [5065]‘s correspondence in English. Since a Physical Reading is in progress on April 19 for her, I think it is my duty to notify you where I’ll be waiting for such reading to expedite matters… Mrs. [5065] will be also in prayer… I wish you all the best luck the Almighty can give you…”
