GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving the cause of the existing conditions, also suggestions for help and relief of this body; answering the questions, as I ask them:
-
EC: Beautiful country, what trees! Five miles south, … [5094].
-
Yes, as we find, there are disturbances and these will require a great deal of care and attention. There are disturbances in the alimentary canal, and especially in those areas of the lacteal duct and gall duct activity, hence the lack of proper assimilation.
-
Foods form gas easily, which becomes very painful to the body. Pressures from these dilations cause disturbance in the nerves to the organs of the sensory system, aching of ears; hurting of eyes; fullness in the throat; those inclinations for the body to cry easily.
-
All of these are from the adhesions and, unless there are the measures taken for correction, will finally grow to where incoordination may be the result, which causes the breaking between the sympathetic and cerebrospinal systems, and spasmodic conditions result.
-
As we find, during this early part of the applications that may be suggested here, do not worry too much about the quantity of foods taken, for there won’t be much desire to eat. That which is given should be that easily assimilated and readily digested, and sufficient to maintain strength; such as liver, liver extract, beef juices and the like.
-
Begin and for three days apply Castor Oil Packs over the gall duct and also lacteal duct areas for one hour each day. Heat should be applied so that the oil is absorbed. After the third day of the applications, take two teaspoons of Olive Oil internally. The next day do have scientifically given a good colonic irrigation.
-
Rest from these for a period of three or four days and begin and take internally, in all the water that is taken, small quantities of Glyco-Thymoline; say two drops in each glass of water that may be taken, and drink water regularly (at least six glasses should be taken daily).
-
Also apply then, over the whole of the abdomen, the Glyco-Thymoline Packs. Do this about three times each week.
-
Twice each week have a general osteopathic or neuropathic massage.
-
Do these, else we are going to find worse conditions arising.
-
Ready for questions.
-
(Q) Should I continue to take 15 grains of Calcium daily? (A) No. If there is calcium to be used (don’t give any of those during the periods we are purifying the system); then we may give Calcios, but the calcium is not being assimilated and is working to a disadvantage rather than to an advantage. It will be assimilated with Calcios which is a paste. Don’t take more than three times a week in the beginning, though don’t begin until we are through with the Castor Oil Packs and are at least half through with the Glyco-Thymoline Packs.
-
(Q) How many series of the Castor Oil Packs should be taken? (A) One series of the Castor Oil Packs, and at least two or three series of the Glyco-Thymoline, and keep up through the whole series the massages, see? As well as the Glyco taken internally. Then begin on the Calcios, but take only the amount which may be spread thinly on a whole wheat wafer.
-
(Q) Should the packs be kept on an hour each day? (A) Castor Oil packs an hour each day. The Glyco-Thymoline Packs should be put on rather cool and stay on until they are almost dry. Use three or four thicknesses of flannel for the Castor Oil packs, then place an electric pad over same. Don’t get too hot, but sufficiently warm so the body absorbs the oil well. Apply the Glyco-Thymoline through three or four thicknesses of cotton cloth, saturated with Glyco. Put this on cold or cool, over the whole of the abdomen, including that area covered by the oil packs, and allow this to become almost dry. It will require an hour and a half or two hours.

Reports
Reports & Follow-up
R1. 8/21/44 Mother’s letter: ”…In the corrections suggested, she was to drink at least 6 glasses of water daily containing small quantities of Glyco-Thymoline. For months now, she has been unable to take liquids of any kind, and at present is having much difficulty eating anything. Something hurts her whenever we attempt to feed her. She is so very thin. She has never spoken a word, nor has she set up. Her face is so sensitive to touch and seems to pain her when being washed. I fear incoordination has taken place before she was one year of age, for spasmodic conditions and convulsions were frequent with her before she was 6 months old. I have used the Packs as directed, and she was given treatments. Would Swedish massages be good for her? Please can you arrange for another Physical Reading?
“I would be greatly appreciative.”
R2. 9/10/44 Mrs. [2823]‘s [Secretary at A.R.E. for a few months.] reply: “We have your letter of August 21, and would like to make the following suggestions: Using the reading as a guide, set down in the form of a daily routine, each suggestion given in [5094]‘s reading, indicating the time each treatment should be started, length of time for each item, rest periods, meals - each little thing, including bath time, time at which a glass of water should be offered, etc. Make it as a daily schedule of her every activity, from the beginning of the series of treatments through to the end of that cycle. You might find a large desk calendar helpful for this. Be sure to check carefully so that no single suggestion is overlooked, no matter how trivial it appears to be. It will take much patience to see that nothing interferes with her routine, but your love for her will keep your courage high. Read over the paragraph in her reading where it warns you not to worry if the quantities of food do not seem sufficient, then read the paragraph about the water. Perhaps, if the water is offered at exactly the same time each day, the amount taken will be increased as the habit of receiving it is formed. Try this, and let us hope that you will find real improvement. We are making an appointment for her check reading on the afternoon of November 11, 1944, between the hour of 3:30 and 4:30 P.M., EWT.”
R3. 10/25/44 Additional questions submitted by mother: “(1) How can we get my daughter to drink liquids? Her strained food must also be of a certain consistency before she is able to take it. (2) If she is to have treatments which I am unable to give, could you suggest names of doctors? Would you advise having Dr. Donelson [M.D.] or Mrs. Anna Rath? (3) Are adult suppositories too strong for her?”
R4. 11/1/44 A.R.E. letter: “Due to Mr. Cayce’s continued illness, we are unable to get your daughter’s check reading on 11/11/44… We suggest that you continue to follow the treatment outlined in the reading. Mr. Cayce will not return to the office for some time. Please send us from time to time, detailed reports on this case…”
R5. 3/20/50 Questionnaire sent. No reply.
R6. 5/7/52 Questionnaire-letter sent. No reply.
R7. 7/25/52 No record of verbal or written contact on this case since 1948 when the mother’s active membership expired.
Background
Background
B1. Born 10/17/39 in Oregon; religious background not indicated.
B2. 10/15/43 Mother’s letter: “Please put our daughter on your roll. If help comes before her turn, we shall cancel the appointment. Thank you so much. Please send the following publications: ‘Meditation,’ ‘Child Training’, ‘The Power Within’ and 6 Physical Abstracts.”
B3. 11/8/43 Mother’s letter: “Because the case is so complicated and of such long standing, it is difficult for us to know just what kind of questions would be most helpful. Doctors have been unable to give us any light on the case. Any information or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Questions: (1) What has brought about her condition? (2) Where does the seat of the trouble lie? (3) How shall we go about treating the child? (4) In what ways could her diet be improved? (5) What causes her gas pains, and how can a normal bowel movement be brought about?” [See additional question at end of 5094-1.]
B4. 12/9/43 Mother’s letter: “I am very pleased to have an appointment for my little daughter. We are on Pacific time. At the hour you have set for the reading, my daughter will be lying on the large bed in the bedroom which is on the northwest corner of our home. I will keep the hour in prayer and meditation. This is a wonderful work you are doing.”
B5. 3/22/44 Mother’s letter: “Yes, please; I do wish to wait for another appointment for the baby, as she appears to be as helpless as ever; yet I can’t feel her case is hopeless and without too much difficulty.”
B6. 5/2/44 Mother’s letter: “I am delighted to think that my daughter’s appointment is near. The map I’m enclosing, I hope will be an aid in locating our home which is in a timber country on the way to the Crater Lake National Park - about 50 miles from the park. With a pencil I’ve marked an x where the small town of … is located, and our home is 5 miles west of it, or 40 miles from …, Ore… My daughter will be…”
B7. 5/6/44 Letter: “In the set of questions submitted for my little girl, I didn’t enquire about her ears. For some time now, she’s had daily earaches and often severe pains in her abdomen - I think, her colon. Should Mr. Cayce fail to touch on these in the reading, would the one assisting him please ask him what the best thing would be to do for that particular trouble…”
