GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving the cause of the existing conditions, also suggestions for help and relief of this body; answering the questions, as I ask them:
-
EC: Yes, we have the body here, [5109].
-
As we find, there are disturbances which are preventing normal development with this body. These, as we find, especially are affectations in the sensory organism. In the areas of the 1st, 2nd and 3rd cervicals, there are pressures which through the periods of gestation had much to do with the developing of the optic nerve center. This pressure also has to do with the organs of the olfactory nerve centers as related to the sense of smell, and the nerves controlling the auditory system and the vocal box also.
-
As we find, there should be the use of the low Wet Cell Appliance, which would carry Chloride of Gold into the body for nerve building. This should be applied daily and in such manners that there would be the activity of same carried into the circulation through assimilating centers. This is the manner which may become more effective in supplying the nerve energies for the body. The charges for the Appliance should be regular strength. The strength of the Chloride of Gold would be one grain to one ounce of distilled water, and using at least 3 ounces of the solution.
-
The smaller plate would be attached in the lower portion of the 3rd cervical. The larger plate through which the solution passes vibratorially should be attached to the umbilical and lacteal duct center, or on this body the width of the mother’s fingers from navel center to the right, and two fingers up from that point. Do this. Give these treatments about thirty minutes each day.
-
Have a gentle massage with electrical vibrator after this is applied daily for thirty minutes. This should be the sponge applicator, not using the cup or hard applicator. Thus we will find, if these are kept persistently, consistently, they will aid in speech, in eyes, in the sense of smell and also better hearing.
-
Then there would be also at least twice each week the osteopathic massage. This should be preferably given by an osteopath versed in or specializing in eye, ear, nose and throat practice. While these will extend and should extend from the 1st cervicals and also the nerves to the secondary courses to eyes, as about the ears, around the mastoid areas, points of chin, between the eyes and over the eyes and the frontal portion of the face and cheek, they should also extend to the whole area of the cerebrospinal system.
-
Do in the diet give a great deal of carrots, celery and lettuce. Prepare these differently. Let there be some portion of one or all of these taken each day. Carrots preferably raw, grated, cut, sliced in all the various ways, and oft prepare them with gelatin.
-
Ready for questions.

Background
Background
B1. Born 1/12/34 in Oklahoma; resides in Texas; Presbyterian.
B2. 6/6/43 Mother’s letter: “I have just finished reading ‘There Is A River’ by Thomas Sugrue. In all sincerity, I must say that I read it with a great deal of interest and some anxiety. I was afraid you were going to be dead at the end of the book, and I’d never get a chance to tell you of my sorrow. It is too bad that all of your years you’ve had to listen to the woes of others. I’m sure I’d have paid little or no attention to your life story had you not been a student of the bible…
“I have a little girl…now 9 years old. At 10 months of age, she had a serious illness - the doctors hardly know what. Convulsions for many hours. After a week of such illness, she was like a new-born babe, perfectly helpless, did not walk until 4 years old. Partially blind, although her eyes were beautiful after the sickness and still are. Focusing trouble, some specialists say, although she is not cross-eyed. Her left hand, she does not have perfect use of it. She had very delayed speech, but talks fairly well now. She is beautiful and intelligent… We are poor people, but no sacrifice would be too great - not a price too high it seems to me, but I’d like to know, so we could make necessary arrangements… My daughter has been fitted twice for glasses, but is still unable to see very much - not nearly good enough to read. We shall await your reply with patience. Please don’t disappoint us.”
B3. 6/17/43 Mother’s letter: ”…I regret to hear that there were many ahead, but I tried to think that perhaps they are in greater need of help than we are. Whatever you are, whether you are able to help us or not, I shall always feel that you’re sincere…”
B4. 1/12/44 Mother’s letter: ”…About the questions: You will note from earlier correspondence, that I wrote you in the hope that her very defective vision and somewhat defective speech could be helped. She is a brilliant child for her chances.”
B5. 1/24/44 Mother’s letter: ”…Vision is very poor, although she has large and beautiful born eyes… Her speech is blurred - but seems to improve with time… The coordination of her muscles is poor; can this be helped? My daughter is beautiful and intelligent, if only her eyesight can be helped. I am willing to work hard and long over the other disabilities.”
B6. 4/10/44 Mother’s letter: ”…We shall be at the above address, and assure you that we will be praying…”
B7. 5/44 Mother’s questions submitted previous to reading:
“(1) Can my daughter’s eyes be helped? (2) Can her speech be helped some? (3) Can coordination of muscles and mind be helped? She is brilliant and pretty, and her mind is alert - no trouble there.”
