GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving the cause of the existing conditions, also suggestions for help and relief of this body; answering the questions, as I ask them:
-
EC: Yes, we have the body here, [5115].
-
As we find, there have been disturbances and, as has been indicated by the necessity of operative measures that removed the effects of the disturbance, but did not remove the sources of irritation which produced the stones in the prostate area, these still exist. These pressures, which are the sources, cause the easily tiring of the limbs and the effects from accumulations of the chemical reactions, that is, the stones in the groin, emunctory centers and soft tissue in the area of the scrotum and the lower portion of the abdominal area. These continue to prove to be sources of irritation.
-
We find that if there would be the adjustments of those conditions existent in the lower lumbar and through the ileum plexus area, with the application of treatments through heat (as indicated in the applicator that carries the heat to the body, through the Elliott Machine), we might bring the relief to the body so that the activities in the locomotory centers will not be distressed, so that there will not be so much pain for the body.
-
These, as we find, we would do to bring a better condition for the body. With the adjustments made osteopathically, we would coordinate the upper portion; that is, 9th dorsal through the upper cervicals and through the areas of the upper portion of spinal column. These, too, will aid through the upper dorsals and cervicals and we will bring better conditions for the body.
-
Use the Elliott applicator for the prostate disorder. Use this every day for ten days, leave it off for five days, then again every day for ten days; using the osteopathic corrections about twice each week.
-
Thus we should bring much better conditions for the body.
-
Ready for questions.
-
(Q) In what place would it be best for me to live and work? (A) First let’s get rid of the conditions, and then the climatic disturbances or pressures produced will have very little effect, when we rid the body of the sources of these pressures upon the sympathetic nervous system.
-
(Q) Where in this vicinity will I be able to obtain the Elliott treatment? (A) This should be obtained wherever there are those individual physicians who use the Elliott Machine. These may be obtained of course, through those who are distributors of same from New York. There are some in Atlanta; in Gainesville, at least.
-
We are through with this reading.
Two copies to wife (one for osteopath - Please let us have the name and address of the one you choose. Have him find out for you who gives the Elliott Machine treatments nearest you. He may be able to get such information from Dr. I. Daniel Shorell, 8 East 64th Street, New York, N.Y.) Copy to Ass’n file ” for indexing

Reports & Follow-up
R1. 7/1/44 Wife’s letter: “In regard to the reading you gave my husband, beg to say that so far I have been unable to locate the Elliott Machine. I wrote Dr. [I. E. Shorell, M.D.] and he knew of no one who uses it in Atlanta. We live 45 miles north of Atlanta and gas is hard to get, and dwelling conditions being so crowded I have contacted several osteopaths in Atlanta and they did not have the Elliott Machine. I took the article in September re ‘Coronet’ and your letter to our local chiropractor; no osteopath except in Rome 35 miles away, and Atlanta 45 miles away, and he said he could do as advised: ‘to coordinate the upper portion, that is 9th dorsal’, etc.; and he has a machine for heat that has been used successfully that can be used for heat to the prostate. He is very conscientious and interested in my husband, as he gave him some treatments before the operation in February 1943. I know that we want to follow your reading to the letter, but so far, have not been able to find the machine in Atlanta… The machine that Dr. [R. J. Wright, D.C.], chiropractor, uses for the heat treatment is the McIntyre Short Wave Diathermy.”
R2. 3/14/50 Questionnaire sent. No reply.
R3. 6/30/52 No record of verbal or written contact on this case since wife’s letter of 7/1/44.
Background
Background
B1. Born 7/4/91 in Georgia; married; no children.
B2. 11/19/43 Wife’s letter: “I read with interest the article about you in ‘Coronet’. I would like to ask you for a reading. My husband has some sort of nagging pain in his hip or sciatic nerve, which makes walking uncomfortable; has had the pain for over 7 years. Last June he was sent to Johns Hopkins to have an operation for stones in the prostate gland. His doctor in Atlanta sent him there, and both the doctor in Baltimore and Atlanta said the pain was a result of the stones in the gland, and would disappear; but so far, the pain is still there, tho they operated and took out the stones and part of the gland. He coughs at the slightest change of temperature, and at night when he is too warm; he is a fine specimen of physical health, out of doors a great deal; has no T.B., but every morning coughs a lot. I am anxious for you to take his case in hand and tell us what to do; also what is the best business for him and the best location in which to live…”
B3. 5/9/44 Wife’s Letter: ”…Last June 14, 1943, he was operated on at Johns Hopkins Baltimore for stones in the prostate; they removed many stones and part of the prostate. For about 5 years or longer he has been bothered with a pain in or near the sciatic nerve, and has hurt most all the time - had trouble walking. In Sept. 1942, he had the coxis [coccyx], (last 3 vertebra) removed, and this was done to relieve the pain in his hip. So far, the pain is still there, tho sometime it is less severe than at other times. We are hoping that you can locate the root of the trouble, as Dr. [Edgar Pamlin, M.D.] and Dr. [M. Boyd, M.D.] and Dr. [C. Colstun, M.D.] of Johns Hopkins Hospital have said the pain is caused by the stones in the prostate gland… My husband has a troublesome cough, if he gets too warm or too cool, he coughs; (he may have had bad tonsils) apparently he is in good health - no lung trouble; weights 172-175 pounds, is 5’7” tall, but has trouble walking, and on account of pain in hip, is slightly bent…”
B4. 5/18/44 Wife’s telegram: “My husband will be in …, for the day.”
