This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at the office of the Association, Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 23rd day of May, 1944, in accordance with request made by the self - through his mother, Mrs. […], new Associate Member of the Ass”n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc.

1. GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time, giving the cause of the existing conditions, also the treatment for the cure and relief of this body; answering the questions, as I ask them:

2. EC: Yes, a very lovely person! We have the body here, [5152].

3. The disturbances are indicated in the conditions on face, and especially lips, as the result of the great amount of acidity in the system and the tendency for the use (or the necessity for the use of that) for greater eliminations through alimentary canal. These are the sources or causes of this.

4. As we find here, it will require patience, persistence, if we would eliminate this character of acidity from the system.

5. As we would find, we would begin and take at least three or five glasses of water carrying Glyco-Thymoline. This is not all the water to be taken. Drink about six or eight glasses, of water daily, but in at least three of these put five drops of Glyco-Thymoline.

6. Also we would have colonic irrigations to eliminate the sedatives which have been parts of the consciousness through the activity, or lack of activity, in the gall duct area, so as to make proper coordinations between the general conditions which exist through the body.

7. We would do these, and use over the abdominal area, as well as the area along the right side, Glyco-Thymoline Packs. These we would do regularly. Do this about two days in succession and rest a period of two days between each series. These should be taken for at least an hour. Saturate a cotton cloth, three to four thicknesses with Glyco-Thymoline.

8. Do this, and keep the diet towards those things that produce better eliminations.

9. These applications should include a thorough massage given twice a week.

10. Follow through with these and we will find changes for the better.

11. Do keep the general mental attitude in the way of being not only worth something, not only being good and worth something, but be constructive, creative in thy thinking; and we will bring much better conditions for the body.

12. Ready for questions.

13. (Q) How often should the colonics be given? (A) About eighteen to twenty days apart.

14. (Q) How often should the Packs be given? (A) Two days each week. Two days and then rest two days.

15. (Q) What can be done to boost her morale and overcome nervousness? (A) Keep those things of better spiritual interpretation and when there are bettered conditions in the general physical forces of the body, we will find the temperament of the body much improved.

R1. 6/25/44 Letter: “I would like to take this opportunity to thank you and your associates for the copy of my Physical Reading which arrived a few weeks ago. In the reading, you suggested that a thorough massage be given twice a week. Is this to be given by a professional osteopath, or could it be given by some member of my family? Do you mean a massage of the entire body, or just of the abdomen? Also, I have talked with my family physician about the colonic irrigations, and he said he didn’t know how to give them. Do these have to be given in a hospital, or could they be given in the home? We live in a small town, and I have been unable to obtain any information concerning these irrigations. I would appreciate any information you could give me about the irrigations. Again thank you.”

R2. 6/30/44 EC’s letter: ”…Regarding the treatments, it would be better, of course, if you can once in a while have a good osteopathic treatment. Say once a month. But the massage, as I understand it, can be given by a member of your family. It isn’t something, though, that you want to hurry through with, but follow the suggestions pretty thoroughly. Not only is the massage to be given along the spine and over the rest of the body, but particularly over the abdomen, to correct the circulation through those areas. If it is impractical for you to go to someone who gives colonic irrigations I believe the best thing would be for you to get a Tyrrell Elevator. This will come about as near giving you a good colonic irrigation as with any means I know. You will find that if you do this yourself, you will have to take the treatments more often than if you were given the colonics professionally…”

B2. 12/43 Mother’s letter: “I am in receipt of your letter saying I could have a reading for my daughter on 5/23/44. If we can do no better, we will have to accept that date, but I would like so much to do something sooner. She has a peculiar condition of the lips. She has been to Mayo Brothers and to 2 other specialists. They all agree she will probably get well, but do not say when. The trouble started just a year ago. She would like so much to get work, and aside from the disfigurement of the face, she is physically able. You can imagine also what this does to her morale…”

B3. 5/4/44 Mother’s letter: ”…She will be here at home in …, Kansas. The questions are as follows: (1) Can she be cured, and how? (2) What has caused her trouble? Her morale has gotten so low, and she has become so nervous, that I would be glad to have any suggestions pertaining to her welfare. If you desire any information, I will send it to you.
