1. GC: You will give the relation of this entity and the universe, and the universal forces; giving the conditions which are as personalities, latent and exhibited in the present life; also the former appearances in the earth plane, giving time, place and the name, and that in each life which built or retarded the development for the entity; giving the abilities of the present entity, that to which it may attain, and how. You will answer the questions, as I ask them:

2. EC: There’s been a change in her name.* Yes, we have the records here of that entity now known as or called [5164]. What a record!

3. In giving an interpretation of the records as we find them, these we choose with the desire and purpose that this may be a helpful experience for the entity, enabling the entity better to fulfill those purposes for which it entered this present sojourn. We would magnify the virtues, we would minimize the faults. This, we would give, should not be merely the policy but the activity of the entity in itself.

4. There are those influences that go with the entity such that it can make others do just as it would have them do. This often has caused the confusion in the experience of the entity, and is that about which counsel would be suggested. For, know (not as preaching), all of the good, all of God, all of bad, all of evil that ye may know, is within thine own self. Thus it depends upon what spirit, what purpose, what

hope ye entertain as to whether that ye desire to accomplish in thy experience is to be accomplished or not. As there is a high emotional nature, we find that art, music, things which have to do with entertainment are parts of the consciousness. That ye have at times sacrificed thine own desire to go in these directions, for that which the entity persuaded itself was for the common good of all, was not necessarily the best choice. For whenever there is not the answer from within that, that choice which is made is in accord with that which is best within self, then it becomes disturbing, unsatisfactory, it brings an environ not altogether good. For there is the continual knowledge back in the subconscious of the entity, that greater possibilities could be, would be within the experience if circumstances were different. Know then, this: that ye entered not into this experience by chance, but sought expression from other consciousnesses.

5. As indicated, Venus, Jupiter, Mercury, Mars are parts of the consciousness. Just as thy activities in choice of physical activity. Ye entertain conditions in certain directions, but music and those things which pertain to same are a part of the soul-entity; and that is eternal.

6. Then without that there cannot be found the complete expression; whether it is music by instruments, or music by just the fact of doing good, or music by that of just being quiet in the moonlight, or just listening to the night voices. That’s music of the soul, and in such ye may wind any fellow around your finger, but for what? That has disturbed the entity.

7. Let it not disturb but set your mind, set your heart on doing those things; not that just to gratify your own appetites, your own desires, but in doing that in which ye may give more hope, more joy, more pleasure, more activity to others in such a service and ye cannot fail, so long as ye put thy whole trust in Creative Forces or God.

8. In those things which pertain to the very awareness of being alive should be found the consciousness that there is an opportunity for thee in the present experience.

9. Then in those fields of entertainment, of music, of art; where hope is given, where there is the desire for greater awareness of creative things, not the sullen things, not those that are of the moment, but the deeper things, may the entity find the outlet for its abilities latent and manifested in the personality and individuality of this entity.

10. In Mars there is the making for little differences, but an activity. Know deep within self that it is true, you’d better be doing something, even if it’s wrong, then doing nothing at all. For the mind is the builder, but in self.

11. As in Venus, music, activities in entertainment, art, all of these are parts of self.

12. In Jupiter there is the great activity and desire for a universal consciousness, and this has betrayed thee, as it were, oft by what other people say. But dare to be thyself. For the Lord hath need of thee among many; seeking to represent, to present, to be active in a definite cause.

13. As to the appearances of the entity in the earth, while all may not be given, these are given as for the urges which are latent and manifested; which form the pattern of the soul-force of the entity itself. As these are expressed in either the emotions or in the dreams and sometimes one, sometimes the other, have we never used just two and two to make four; for sometimes it may be three and two or three and six.

14. Before this we find the entity was in the early settlings in the land of the present nativity. The entity was among those who journeyed into the land from other lands, yet so young as for it to be said that only in the present land or the environs of that period were had influences from its activity.

15. The entity brought into the experience, the appreciation of outdoors, of sunshine, of moonlight, of water. And waterfalls, the outdoors, nature itself, as it were, were the teachers of the entity then; as Uhlans.

16. In the experience the entity gained through its close dependence upon nature and God as its teacher. The entity gained also in its abilities to act on the stage, and these became a part of the experience in reading, entertaining with the voice, with music, and with groups of others in such experiences.

17. Before that we find the entity was in what is now known as the Danish land, in the periods when there were those expansions for greater undertakings by peoples who were active in creating things that would supply or add to the comfort of others.

18. The entity then was as the companion of one who brought into many lands activities as related to commercial things.

19. In the name then Veldana, the entity lost self at times and found self in keeping close to an individual purpose and ideal, not merely as a social or commercial activity, but that which might be creative for the various groups to which the activities of the entity and companion brought an opening of purpose and ideals.

20. Before that we find the entity was in the Grecian land in those early periods when those studies of art, sculpture, paintings were a part of the experience.

21. These bring to the entity a longing to lose self in such activities, and they must be supplied either in physical or mental or the combination in writing about same, acting in roles which depict such as being the portion of the activities of the entity.

22. The name then was Curri.

23. As to the abilities of the entity, then, that to which it may attain and how: First analyse self and self’s purposes, and do keep close to those things wherein ye may contribute to not merely the enjoyment, but hope and fear, the questionings, the desires for bettering of self in every phase of its activities.

24. Thus, as we would give, in music and the arts, in acting whether on stage, screen or radio, may the entity find the outlet for the greater experiences of itself and for creating an environ most helpful for others.

25. Ready for questions.

26. (Q) Should I resign my position as stenographer with the U.S. Navy in Chicago, and seek another type of work, or should I seek to be transferred to Minneapolis doing the same kind of work? (A) Wherever there is the opportunity for the entity to, more and more, - be in the entertaining field is the better than can be used as the steppingstone. In the present environ, not too good; in Minneapolis ye can use it.

27. (Q) Should I marry E. V. A., or is there someone else for me? (A) If there is the answer within that this can be a united effort, and there is the opportunity to follow through, it would be well. Without this (and there is a doubt), better think this over, then before the final choice is made.

28. (Q) (If I should marry him) How may I learn to like Chicago better in order to be happy there? (A) That is, as has been indicated, one of the problems; but ye have to enter in just as you have sacrificed yourself from the real longings and desires of the mind and body. It has not brought harmony. Then why let that which will be a continual inharmonious experience spoil the life in the present?

29. (Q) If going to Minneapolis, should I seek the same kind of work? (A) That may be used as the steppingstone, but do get into the entertainment field. Radio, screen, or stage, or just plain writing, for you can do it all or any portion of it, and do it well.

R4. 11/12/58 Mrs. [5164]‘s ltr.: “I am one of the fortunate people who had a reading by EC. I have forgotten the exact date and I am sorry to say I lost this precious document through a change of address in the mails. Could I have a duplicate made? I will gladly become a member of A.R.E. in order to do this because I am very interested in the study of this phenomenon. The only information I can furnish you on my reading is: My name at that time was Miss [5164] and I believe my address was … N. Sheridan Rd., Chicago, Ill… I don’t remember if I paid a fee or not. It was such a beautiful reading. I believe a stenographer was a Mr. Rudd [Bro?] and he made the remark, ‘This is the most beautiful reading I have heard.’ Thank you.” [GD’s note: Her husband’s name is not E. V. A. about whom she asked in 5164-1, Par. 27-A.]

R5. 12/20/74 Letter from [5164]: “Please send me the book on Castor Oil Packs - I think it is Palm of Christi as per telephone conversation today.

“I had a reading in 1944 I believe. I was [5164] then. I have had Parkinson’s Disease for 7 years. Please send me whatever you have on Parkinson’a Disease… I have the Edgar Cayce books and I think he was the greatest! He has helped so many. Thank you…”

R6. 3/28/75 Letter from [5164] with application for Associate membership: “I was young at the time I got the reading. I wish I had asked Mr. Cayce about health matters, but at that time I was in the best of health. Six years ago, this Parkinson’s developed and its been an ordeal. I read where Ruth Montgomery, (through automatic writing) is contacting Mr. Cayce. It would be interesting to know what could be done through that. I would like to contact a ‘psychic healer’. Do you know of any?

(1) I would like to know if I should move to Minneapolis, Minn. (2) What will O. B. R. mean in my life? (3) If he is not the man for me, who is, and where will I meet him? I would love to have a home and a child of my own. Will you please tell me? (If the reply to my former letter is in transit, disregard this one).”

B4. 5/13/44 Letter: “Save your letter regarding an appointment for 10:30 to 11:30, May 25th. I will be there, and thank you for your kind consideration.”
