This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at the office of the Association, Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 7th day of June, 1944, in accordance with request made by wife - Mrs. […], new Associate Member of the Ass”n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc., recommended by Mr. [2301].

1. GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving the cause of the existing conditions, also suggestions for help and relief of this body; answering the questions, as I ask them:

2. EC: Yes, as we find, conditions here are very serious. While there are some improvements from the reflexes and resuscitations, there has not begun the processes of the system’s caring for the uric acid by the removing of the kidney, but this was necessary and done very well.

3. As we find, keep the body quiet where it is; keep the great amount of lightheartedness, anything else but pessimism. Be optimistic, and hold to this doctor. For you have a good one. No matter what the others may say, he knows more than most of the others around him who condemn him.

4. Do massage the body gently to keep up better circulation in the extremities. Do this, and let the body rest, especially evenings.

5. A little later, we would add the ultra-violet with the green glass projected between the ultra-violet and the body, which will give ease. This is only a prolonging, of course. The body should prepare itself for the ultimate.

6. These we would do for the body.

8. (Q) Have any other parts of the body been affected by the growth which was removed? (A) All parts, naturally, for in the conditions the functioning of the kidneys is to drain the system of certain poisons, see, and naturally, as has just been indicated, the system hasn’t balanced itself as yet. But what has been done was right. It ought to have been changed some years ago.

9. (Q) Is the condition malignant? (A) Condition is becoming malignant.

10. We are through with this reading.

R1. 4/17/52 Comment by IMG: “I talked with Mr. [2301]‘s wife [2175] after showing her questionnaire, and learned the following:

Mr. [5161] died of cancer two or three months after receiving his Physical Reading. He did go home from the hospital and kept the same doctor, as the Reading suggested. However, he did not use the ultra-violet with the green glass. The Reading was correct regarding his wonderful attitude; although he insisted on seeing the Reading, he never admitted to anyone (even to himself) that he was going to die; he remained cheerful, surrounding himself with cheerful friends to the end. Evidently he knew the end was near, but he never showed it, remaining optimistic to the last.”

B2. IMG’s note: Previous to his illness, Mr. [5166] and Mr. [2301] were business associates. Upon learning of the seriousness of her husband’s condition, [5166]‘s wife requested an appointment for a Reading; this was arranged without the knowledge of [5166]. However, at his insistence for a reading, a copy of it was shown to him, about 2 or 3 weeks later.

B3. 6/7/44 Case history and questions submitted by Mr. [2301] and his wife Mrs. [2175] previous to reading in addition to those at the end of 5166-1: “(1) Should I remain in the hospital for treatment? (2) Was my relapse caused by the X-Ray treatments which followed the operation? (3) What is the prognosis of this case? (4) What should be done in regards to present physician, who has faithfully attended the family for a number of years? He had one kidney removed by family M.D., Dr. P. A. R. [Parrish, M.D.], because of tumor which was apparently about to burst in kidney. Evidently found conditions not good, because they began to use X-Rays afterwards. They have been giving him a blood transfusion about every other day, but skipped the last one and his temperature did not rise, so they feel he is better, though do not know whether he has a chance or not. The MD was not a surgeon, and should not have operated; he said it would cost a thousand dollars to get a cancer man from New York for 15 minutes, and he couldn’t do anything in 15 minutes. Evidently the doctor is confused and scared. The wife doesn’t seem to feel there is any chance for him. The man became so morbid after the operation, that he said he didn’t want to get well if he had to stay in the hospital all his life, and that is also against him, this feeling that he doesn’t have a chance to get well.”
