This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at the office of the Association, Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 29th day of May, 1944, in accordance with request made by the father, Mr. […], new Associate Member of the Ass”n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc., recommended by the Theosophical Society.

1. GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving the cause of the existing conditions, also suggestions for help and relief of this body; answering the questions, as I ask them:

2. EC: Yes, we have here the after effects of infantile paralysis. Hence the high temperature which was produced through the body, affecting the locomotions of the body. Thus the limb on the one side, as well as the arms and the body indicate lack of its full or complete development and use.

3. These, as we find, may be materially aided, yet will require a good deal of patience and persistence, but there will be brought results if this treatment is followed, though it may require even a full year for treatments. These should be taken rather in periods than to be just taken and gone straight through with.

4. It will require a great deal of mental concern in directions; that is, the body should apply its own mental desires and aspirations to be directed for a special activity in creative influences or forces. Keep bright, sing often, pray thine own blessings of how much ye have to be thankful for, if ye keep in the spirit of truth.

5. But prepare first as this: A Wet Cell Appliance in which the Iodine is charged in the Appliance. Make this regular strength and then put three ounces of Tincture of Iodine in a sealed glass bottle. Suspend in the solution (no Charcoal in the solution), and for thirty minutes on the low electrical charge for batteries.

6. These, then, should be attached to the body and carry through this solution Chloride Sodium of Gold, one grain to one ounce. Use at least three ounces of the solution. When disconnected from the body do remove the connections from the solution of the Gold so that the deterioration will not be too quick or it become changed by the chemicals in same. Do attach the solutions and the connections to Appliance twenty minutes before it is to be used, each day for thirty days, for thirty minutes each day.

7. This is, then, to be followed by a massage thoroughly given in the cerebrospinal system from the first cervical to the 9th dorsal and from the tip of the toes, especially the limb indicating the lack of development, to the 9th dorsal upward. Use Peanut Oil for this massage, and all that will be absorbed by the body. This is to go along the end of the spine as well as along and around the limb and along the sciatic nerve and across the lumbar and sacral area.

8. In attaching the Gold Solution, we would for the first month attach same to the lumbar axis, we would rest after the first month for three weeks. Then have Appliance recharged, keep the same solution of the Iodine in the solution when charging but change the solution of the gold and then begin and take this again for the thirty days. Keep this up, with about a three week rest period.

9. And do make the mental changes in the attitude. We will bring nearer to normal conditions if there is persistence and consistence used in these applications.

11. (Q) What should be done for general health improvement? (A) Do these things and we will improve the general health of this body. Keep the eliminations very good. Do this with the massage over the abdomen, especially the areas from the caecum to the left side, see? Over the colon area. If it is necessary, that there be taken a laxative, take the senna base preparations. Either Caldwell’s Syrup of Senna, or Castoria. Either of these will be well for the body. In the foods, not too great quantities of sweets for this body, but plenty of beef and potatoes and salad. Green salad should be taken most every day; wild fowl whenever possible, or wild game of any kind - fish, preferably sea foods rather than fresh water fish, whenever practical.

B2. 10/6/43 Father’s letter: “Your wonderful gift of psychic diagnosis has come to my attention, and I am moved to appeal to you in behalf of my eldest daughter, who was stricken in childhood with the dread disease of Infantile Paralysis, according to medical diagnosis. This occurred in 8/33. I am impelled to relate to you an experience of subconscious activity which occurred about 10 days preceding my child’s illness. This has always been in my memory. I dreamed of being in what appeared to be an Egyptian garden. My daughter seemed to be seated upon the back of a black pony. She seemed to strike this animal upon the head with a stick or riding crop. The animal seemed to crumple and sink helplessly to the ground, and then it turned into a large black dog. I seemed to be standing close by and said to her: ‘Oh, you should not have done that!’ Then it seemed that a large, slimy, slitherly something was crawling over my body from left foot, over the body and off from my right shoulder. Upon awakening, I was horrified, and my first thought was of my daughter. Have always felt that this scene was from an Egyptian incarnation. My appeal to you is for help and guidance in restoring this body to whole and perfect being again, and I believe that you are the source of help. You are assured of my deepest gratitude…”

B3. 11/9/43 Father’s letter: ”…Seeking a health reading for my daughter… The left side of her body having been affected, and especially the left limb from hip on down. I seek guidance through the highly endowed personality of Mr. Cayce, for my daughter’s restoration. May I be privileged to know when Mr. Cayce enters into cosmic attunement so that I might enter into prayer and meditation at the time?”

B4. 5/22/44 Father’s letter: “My daughter will be at home at the hour and day appointed, I hope. Shall endeavor to get her to sit quietly, in meditation. Questions: (1) What are the causes of affliction? (2) What can be done to overcome the handicap?…” [Several questions regarding past incarnations, hobbies and vocation.]
