Baptist) This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at the office of the Association, Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 31st day of May, 1944, in accordance with request made by the self - Mr. [5183], new Associate Member of the Ass”n for Research and Enlightenment, Inc., recommended by the book, “There Is A River”.

1. GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving the cause of the existing conditions, also suggestions for help and relief of this body; answering the questions, as I ask them.

2. EC: Yes, we have the body here. As we find, there is a complication of disturbances here. These are from the lack of proper coordination in the cerebrospinal and sympathetic nervous systems. And the effects, because of the type or character or nature of those incoordinating centers, are reflexes brought about on the organs of the central nerve and blood supply which coordinate together. These have produced, and do produce, general toxic conditions through the body.

3. Those conditions in prostate give disturbance but with the treatments and the applications which may be made, these should not become too disturbing unless there are some other conditions not existent in the present arising.

4. The conditions through the poor circulation in parts of the body are caused by these same breaks, which cause the toxic forces, torpidity of the liver, the disturbance with the bladder, irregularity with the heart and the shortness of breath and weakness which occurs in the body at times.

5. Here, as we would find, would be indicated hydrotherapy treatments. First have a Fume Bath, not too heavy, just sufficient for there to begin to be thorough perspiration over the body. Then a shower off, and then in the Pine Bubble Bath, then a thorough massage, especially the muscular forces and the centers along the spine in the areas of the lower cervicals, upper dorsal and those in the area from the 10th dorsal to the lower portions of the sacral. These, combined with the short-wave about once every three weeks.

6. After the short-wave treatment has been given, then do have colonic irrigations to purify the system from the poisons which are being carried or eliminated by these activities, and we will produce better coordination, will produce bettered conditions through the body. The short-wave, though, not too oft as the breaking up occurs. These should stimulate, as should the treatments and the colonics, better eliminations. We will make better conditions.

7. Do have these treatments at Reilly’s. Do get the counsel of H. J. Reilly.

9. (Q) Is my prostate gland like [likely] to cause serious trouble in the future, if so, how may I avoid it? (A) As has been indicated, if there are sufficient precautions and treatments taken these should be eliminated without causing serious disturbance.

10. (Q) What can be done to prevent dribbling, which occurs now and then? (A) This is a part of too much stimulation from the cervical, and as these areas are brought more in accord there will be better circulation and lack of too much lymph through the salivary glands, and the general conditions will be better through other portions of head, shoulder and neck.

11. (Q) What was the cause of the serious eye trouble following my illness in 1937? (A) These are all from the blocking between the sympathetic nervous system and the sensory organism. These corrections indicated will make for better conditions here, too. Very much better!

Do these things and we will find many corrections being improved.

R1. 9/26/44 Letter: “Here is the report on the Physical Reading given to me [5183] and upon the treatments at the Reilly Health Service, Rockefeller Centere, New York, from 7/21 to 8/25/44. Treatments were not begun immediately because of the difficulty and inconvenience in getting to New York City from … Two treatments consisting of fume bath shower, pine bubble bath and a massage were given each week. An examination as well as the colonics were also given during the period. I waited for a time after the treatments, expecting an improvement in my condition, but I am about the same. No definite improvement has occured. I am thinking particularly about my prostate and the necessity of my getting up at night - usually twice - as well as the matter of dribbling which is of varying frequency. My eyes have not improved nor has the difficulty in breathing improved. As for my attitude, I feel that it has been what you might wish it to be. I have been enthusiastic about your work. “There Is A River” influenced me profoundly. It changed my life. I have always been a believer in Christ. I sent for all your literature and get your weekly and monthly reports on readings, etc. I carefully read ‘Edgar Cayce Life and Work’ etc. May I have a second Physical Rdg.? I have lectured a number of times on the ‘Great Pyramid’…”

R2. 1/19/45 Letter: “I have read in the Tribune of Mr. Cayce’s death… I am anxious to do what I can to help continue the work…”

R3. 10/10/49 Reply to questionnaire: “Date of onset 10 years previous to 1944 approximately. Duration, intermittent. Intensity, not severe. Physician’s treatment: diet, avoid coffee, tobacco, alcohol, condiments, etc., exercises. Duration of treatment from Physical Rdg., about 2 months. Much improved, although mild recurrences do happen. I am not continuing the treatments as recommended by my first Physical Rdg.”

R4. 4/10/52 Comment by IMG: “Life and a Check Physical Reading for [5183] and Life and Physical Reading for [5183]‘s wife were cancelled due to EC’s illness. Mr. [5183] has maintained Associate Membership in the A.R.E. and contributed to the E.C.F. Fund.”

(2) Is there any way to cure the tendency for the eyes to water, especially in cold weather? For years, I have had noises and ringing in my ears. (3) May this condition be removed? (4) During the past 4 or 5 days, I have had slight pains in the stomach and abdomen, together with a ‘tired feeling’, lassitude, etc. I suspect that I have taken poison in food; am I right in this? I hope my questions are not too numerous. To me they seem important…”
