This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at the office of the Association, Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 5th day of June, 1944, in accordance with request made by self - Mr. [5190], new Associate Member of the Ass”n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc., recommended by Mr. [2981] and Mrs. [2982].

GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving the cause of the existing conditions, also suggestions for help and relief of this body; answering the questions, as I ask them.

EC: Yes. As we find, there are rather the complications of disturbances here. To be sure, there are the greater disorders which arise from conditions existent in the incoordination between heart, liver and kidneys and these are, in effect, the activities from the lack of proper secretions by the gall duct or the gall bladder and the sedimentary conditions there.

These, as we find, are the basis. Though, those conditions as to the circulation through the soft tissue of face and head are not exactly the part, they are contributory conditions to that, and the correction of one would not necessarily correct the other, but the same character of treatment, as we find, may be very well applied here for this body.

These bring other distresses as related to the activities through the alimentary canal, the circulation as it causes disorders through the incoordination which is produced by those disturbances between sympathetic and cerebrospinal systems, but in the the main these will respond to the corrections in the gall duct area.

These, then, would be the applications:

Apply Castor Oil Packs for an hour each day, three days a week, say Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, over the liver and gall duct area.

On the fourth day take two tablespoonsful of Olive Oil internally. There should not be too great an amount of exercise on this fourth day. If there is not full eliminations, which should be indicated from the use of the Olive Oil, because of other activities, do occasionally especially in the beginning, have a colonic irrigation, scientifically given.

But these applied, as we find, will bring for the body much improvement.

(Q) Please give the mental, spiritual and physical cause of physical distress. (A) This is, as has been indicated, more of a physical disturbance than a mental, but it allows or becomes such from the physical allowing the incoordination to upset the mental attitude.

(Q) Give condition of nervous system. (A) As has been indicated, from the pressures produced, the applications of five to ten osteopathic relaxing treatments as would be administered for these conditions, after there has been at least two courses of the Oil Packs, would be most beneficial.

(Q) What is cause of distress in right leg? (A) Pressures from nervous system from the poisons produced by toxic conditions in the body.

(Q) What can be done to eliminate my hay fever? (A) Do those things which have been indicated and we will remove the sources of these conditions, but make the changes which are contemplated by the body.

(Q) Give the diet that is best for this body. (A) Just keep a normal balanced diet, but keep away from too much starches.

(Q) Why am I susceptible to sore throats? (A) The conditions in the liver and gall duct.

(Q) Would it be beneficial for me spiritually, as well as materially to accept the position tentatively offered to me in Los Angeles? (A) As has been indicated, accept the position. As to whether it will be as beneficial spiritually depends upon what you do with your purposes. These are not things that are other than what one WILLS to do with one’s abilities and with one’s personality and with one’s opportunities. If they are used in a constructive way, it may be beneficial; if they are used for selfish motives, you can carry it where you want to.

(Q) Should my job necessitate my moving to Los Angeles, where would the best place be for me to live? (A) In a house - somewhere along the North Hollywood areas.

(Q) How can I improve quantity and quality of my hair? (A) Don’t worry about your hair. Worry about what you do with your mind and body. Let the hair, by the very activities, take care of itself. Those who do such, and worry about such, don’t amount to much.

(Q) Does coffee affect my nervous system? (A) Not necessarily. If you think so, yes!

(Q) What causes the alternating moods of irritability and depression? (A) These are from pressures by conditions in the body. Do as has been given if you would have better conditions.

R4. GD’s note: [5190]‘s wife has kept up her A.R.E. membership spasmodically. We have not had, at any time, a direct communication from [5190].
R5. 9/24/75 GD’s note: Mr. [2981] reported that Mr. [5190] was completely cured of the gallstones by following the treatments and that he had never had surgery. He requested a copy of 5190-1 for another friend who is in the hospital and has been told he has gallstones, hoping that the other friend, too, may avoid surgery.
