GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving the cause of the existing conditions, also suggestions for help and relief of this body; answering the questions, as I ask them:
-
EC: Yes, we have the body here, [5213]. As we find, these are very serious disturbances with this body, [5213].
-
There has not been the entire recuperation from the last operative measures; that is, the nervous system and the coordinations between the sympathetic and cerebrospinal systems are still under that influence of the usage of those things to allay or to block nerve reflexes; so that much of the abdominal pains are reflexes from the lack of coordination in the areas from the lower portion of the 9th dorsal plexus and the nerves from the centers in the brush end of the cerebrospinal system. So we have that warring as of one nervous energy against the other, and these can bring to the sensory forces all types, as it were, of imaginations of what is happening on the inside of the body.
-
We would find this can be materially aided. It will require patience, persistence, but we would begin with the use of grape poultices over the whole of the abdominal area. These should be put on fresh at least three times during the day until we gain a great deal of the ability for the entity to control its whole nervous system. These should be crushed with the pits and skins kept on, and made about one-half an inch thick, put on gauze and apply over the whole of the abdomen. Let this remain on until, from the body heat itself, it has almost dried all of the hulls.
-
Do, with the crushing of the grapes, give the body grape juice, but fresh; not that which has been canned, or bottled, or as is made other than fresh daily, see?
-
Do add an antiseptic to the alimentary canal, as Glyco-Thymoline in the water daily. This is not necessary to be in all the water taken during the day (but the body does not drink enough water), but do have, at least two or three periods when the water is taken, six drops of the Glyco-Thymoline in a full glass of water.
-
Do have the osteopathic or neuropathic massage. If the neuropath, about every day. The osteopath, this about every other day. Do these and when there has been brought better conditions, in the next three to six weeks, then we would give further instructions.
-
We are through with this reading.

Reports
Reports & Follow-up
R1. 6/23/44 Letter: “Received your reading for which I thank you very much. I have not been able to get grapes to use as poultice anywhere… I have a sister in Shreveport who has been trying to get them for me… She is also trying to find an osteopath who will cooperate with you in the treatments. I would have to go there and stay. There is a Dr. Simmonds that comes here twice weekly. I called him and asked him to come out and that I had been advised to take osteopathic or neuropathic massages. He said certainly he could give them. Frankly, I did not know the difference in an osteopath and chiropractor. But after his visit, I found out he was a chiropractor. Well, I gave him your letter to read, and he gave me what he called a massage. I don’t have to go into any details to you. But when he got through I was nearly dead - especially after the terrible massage to my stomach. I was really uneasy that he might have hurt me some way, as I had a terrible pain in my heart all night and could hardly breathe. He told me a diet he wanted me on and some medicine would be advisable to take. Then said ignore those instructions that you got from that man, as he cannot tell you anything that way. Then he said, ‘I am a chiropractor and I am sure I can do you some good.’ I am very anxious to start on my treatments as my physical suffering seems to be more than I can bear. Then, too, I am getting worried about my mental condition… You did not say anything about diet except fresh grape juice, and so I am taking it for granted you want me to continue a regular diet. What about the capsules that I have to insert rectally to quiet me and give me rest?…”
R2. 7/1/44 Notation by GD: “EC’s lengthy letter encouraging [5213] to follow the suggestions just as outlined, using Concord grapes when they come in season, and trying California grapes (with seeds). Also osteopathy, rather than chiropractic treatments.”
R3. 9/28/49 Questionnaire sent. No reply.
R4. 3/24/52 Notation by IMG: No record of verbal or written contact on this case since 6/23/44.
Background
Background
B1. Born February 6, 1903 in Louisiana; married; one child.
B2. 12/2/43 Letter: “I have just read an article concerning you…very anxious to get in touch with you. Would I have to come see you, or can I write to you for a reading?…”
B3. 4/5/44 Letter: “I wrote you just before Christmas in regard to a reading, but got seriously ill and had to go to a hospital and had an operation while there. Incidentally that being my 9th major operation… I have not improved at all from any of the surgery. In fact, I am worse and need some help now. I am not a member of any church, but have been interested in Christian Science but was never able to make a demonstration…my suffering both mentally and physically is very intense…”
B4. 5/16/44 Letter: “Have been so very ill I have not written sooner. Have been going to doctors and been in the hospital trying to get some relief. But the doctors just do not seem to be able to find out what causes this terrible stomach trouble and not being able to eat anything that will agree, I suffer tortures constantly. Am getting weaker and losing weight and almost afraid of losing my mind. As I told you before, I’ve had 10 operations. Nine abdominals and still continue getting worse. If I don’t find some relief soon, I won’t be living long. It’s the suffering I fear, though, here on earth. If I am still living at the time you can get to me for a reading, I will be at this address…”
