GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving the cause of the existing conditions, also suggestions for help and relief of this body; answering the questions, as I ask them:
-
EC: That’s where the railroad crosses. Yes, [5228]. Yes, as we find, here are those conditions which if neglected will lead to such poor reflexes from brain to activities of the inferior muscles of the locomotories as to bring about dementia praecox, or such softening of reflexes as for there to be little effect of the gray matter impulse indicated in thought, or activity, either voluntary or involuntary.
-
Such violent reactions have existed until they brought that dissociation or short-circuit in the areas between the cerebrospinal and sympathetic nervous systems, both in those areas in lumbar axis and in the brachial centers, here, or a violent nervous breakdown by overtaxing and more from worry about those things which were “not too good to think about”.
-
These, as we find, will be aided the more if there will be the use of the Wet Cell Appliance carrying Chloride of Gold Sodium vibratorially to the 9th dorsal and also lumbar axis. These should be alternated. The Wet Cell Appliance should be charged for at least two amperes, or the short period of battery charging. Not Atomidine or Iodine in this, but do charge the Appliance, see? Until there is a discharge of two amperes, or half an hour on the low charge.
-
The small plate should be attached one day at the 9th dorsal, the next day at the 4th lumbar.
-
The larger plate through which the gold passes (one grain to one ounce) attach at the umbilical and lacteal duct plexus which on this body will be the width of two fingers directly to the right from the navel center and three fingers upward, see?
-
Recharge the Appliance, changing the Gold Solution, after 30 days.
-
These should be followed by a massage with Olive Oil and Tincture of Myrrh. This would be given neuropathically, at least every other day, while the vibrations from the Appliance should be taken daily. Massage in the brain centers at base of brain, along the edges of the back of the ear or mastoid area, the throat and on downward to the 9th dorsal, in either side of the spine more than on the spine itself; from the coccyx end of spine upward, either side, to the 9th dorsal. The massage should be given consistently, thoroughly.
-
Do repeat these at least three times [three charges of the Appliance], then we would give further instructions.
-
We are through with this reading.

Reports
Reports & Follow-up
R1. 6/14/44 Mother’s letter: “Received the reading for my son and do thank you and in reply will say I have my son under a doctor’s care, chiropractor; and he is going to write you as I have let him read your instructions, and we are going to do our best to carry out instructions that you gave for my son, and our doctor will follow your directions.”
R2. 6/29/44 Dr. D. R. McLain’s letter: ”…I cannot entirely reconcile your explanation of causes and present condition, other than you are correct in describing his case as dementia-praecox, or as you put it, ‘leading to, if neglected’. The case is, and has been several years, the Hebephrenic form of Dementia-Praecox, mutism type. The locomotor muscles are not affected as you state. While most symptoms are characteristic of the disease with him, the outstanding peculiarity is his refusal to talk for the past 3 or 4 years, although I understand he is now repeating words after his mother, and will answer me ‘uh-huh’ or ‘huh-ungh.’ Will also talk coherently while sleeping. As to the treatment, I find an unusual tightness in the occipito-atlantal region, base of skull to first vertebrae especially, and we are, of course, working primarily upon vertebral adjusting to restore nerve energy to the brain in particular. He receives plenty of deep spinal massage over foramina. (I don’t get your connection in massaging down to 9th dorsal and up from coccyx) As to massaging with olive oil and tincture of myrrh ‘neuropathically’, this may be O.K., tho of no special benefit except psychological. Peanut oil is better. ‘Neuropathically’ means disease of the nerves, presume you mean to massage over the course of the nerves as they leave the spine. Your Wet Cell Appliance is just something to give someone else a chance to sell something. Electronic medicine may well have its place in the treatment of this case, however, and I am enclosing booklet covering an instrument I have. Also have the more expensive $1400 dollar Radionics, which I will use in his case instead of the Wet Cell Appliance you mention. Why don’t you write to the Journal of Electronic Medicine for a copy of their magazine? 1200 Hyde St., San Francisco, Calif.”
R3. 12/5/44 Comment by IMG: “[5228]‘s mother called to meet Mr. Cayce, at which time she gave me a verbal report on her son. She stated that he had greatly improved, yet she felt disappointed in the reading. I went over the reading with her and asked if she had been keeping the battery plates clean and if the elements had been renewed. She seemed very vague on these points, yet insisted that she had been putting the battery on her son as suggested, beginning some 3 weeks after the date of the reading. She also stated that she had been taking her son to a chiropractor once or twice a week. Dr. McLain’s letter of 6/29/44 indicated that he had not been using olive oil and tincture of myrrh for massage. I suggested that she make a 30 day outline of the treatment as given in the reading, allowing 7 to 10 days rest periods between each series of treatments. Also suggested that she study Wet Cell Appliance instructions, so that she might know better what type of reactions to look for in her son’s progress. Her son was not told that a reading had been given for him. She said that her disappointment was largely due to the fact that the karmic angle was not given in the reading. She admitted lack of preparation for the reading, which was partly due to the deluge of mail and number of readings being given at that time. The mother is a member of the Essene group having completed a 2-year course. She expressed faith that an immediate cure could be effected if the correct and proper contact was made with God. She impressed me as an Atlantean with an extremely strong will. I requested that she submit reports when the above suggestions were carried out. Upon checking Marsden Godfrey’s records, there was nothing to indicate that the Wet Cell Appliance had ever been ordered.”
R4. 9/26/49 Questionnaire sent. No reply.
R5. 3/11/52 Notation by IMG: No record of verbal or written contact on this case since 12/5/44.
