This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at the office of the Association, Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 1st day of July, 1944, in accordance with request made by husband, - Mr. […], new Associate Member of the Ass”n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc., recommended by Mrs. [2454].

1. GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving the cause of the existing conditions, also suggestions for help and relief of this body; answering the questions, as I ask them:

2. EC: We have the body here, [5279].

3. As we find, while there are those glandular disturbances which tend to make greater accumulations in bone structure than should be, these should respond if there would be the use of the deep therapy, or at least twice a week the Infra-Red electrical treatments; and follow same with the massage which will set up eliminations of the used forces and channels of the body.

4. This would then mean stimulating better activity in liver, more uniformity in the emunctory centers for the ability to breathe deeper, and better eliminations through kidneys, the respiratory and perspiratory system.

5. The Infra-Red should be at least twice a week, used in the beginning for thirty minutes and gradually increase this to at least forty-five minutes, but let this be over a period of at least three or four months.

6. We should find that grape juice for this body would be well - not that the body should make for starvation - but at least four times a day, 30 minutes before each meal and before retiring, take two ounces of grape juice (the fresher the better) with one ounce of plain water.

7. Then the diets should not be too heavy, keeping away from too much starches and too much proteins, but keep them well balanced in the activities and we should find an increase in the numbers of white cells and increase in the leucocytes and a gradual decrease and a destruction through the spleen and liver of the red blood cells which are on the increase.

8. Do these and, as we find, we may bring better conditions.

9. The massages for the body following the application of the Infra-Red should be at least twice a week, and apply this to the structural portions across the back area, next over the lower limbs, and then back to the structural portion or rib area. This should be applied from the back to be sure.

R1. 3/11/45 Letter from [5279]‘s husband: “She went to see Dr. K. L. I. (D.O.) in …, Florida, who admittedly did not believe in the readings and advised my wife to keep on with her regular doctor. Mrs. [5279] showed the Physical Reading to her doctor who read it carefully and said he had thought of using the Infra-Red rays, etc., but it would only be a temporary relief. She has been sick going on three years and has been under the same doctor over two years, but I am glad to say she is now lots better.”

R2. 10/5/49 Comment from GD: Searching the husband’s correspondence it is quite clear that the treatment suggested by the reading was not tried.

B1. 6/21/44 Letter from Active Member, [2454]: “While we want our two appts. very much on July 1st, we want to share one of them with Mrs. [5279] whose application is enclosed. The doctors have diagnosed it as polychthemia, or too many red corpuscles, and are unable to offer any help. Please give her the a.m. reading and I will visit her and try to get the questions to you on time, but if not be sure to go ahead with it as she needs it badly, the condition is so urgent.”
