This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at the office of the Association, Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 27th day of June, 1944, in accordance with request made by self - Miss [5289], new Associate Member of the Ass”n for Research and Enlightenment, Inc., recommended by Dr. […].

1. GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving the cause of the existing conditions, also suggestions for help and relief of this body; answering the questions, as I ask them.

2. EC: Yes, these are not good. There have been so many disturbing factors that the general conditions have become so lacking in resistance, a great deal of the energies have been so dissipated in the various disturbances, that little resistance is left with this body.

3. As we find, massage following treatments with the Wet Cell Appliance which would carry Gold and Iodine into the system, offer chances for the greater improvement.

4. There must be, however, more of an optimistic environ created for the body, if there would be any real help, as to definite help to be accomplished for the body.

5. The preparation of the Appliance should be about the regular charge but do not put the charcoal in same, and do charge the solution with the Iodine in the solution. This should be the low charge, and charged for at least a half an hour, not more than three amperes for this body.

6. The larger plate, through which the Chloride of Gold, one grain to one ounce, passes vibratorially, should be attached to the umbilical and lacteal duct plexus, which on this body would be the width of five fingers from the navel center to the right and three fingers up from that point. And the vibrations from the charge of the Iodine with the Gold vibratorially set up in the body produce a better assimilation and the building up of resistances.

7. The smaller plate would be attached to the 9th dorsal.

8. Use the Appliance for thirty minutes each day.

9. The massage should follow with Peanut Oil, which being absorbed by the body will give greater virility, greater vitality for stimulating better conditions.

11. (Q) How can the vertebra be adjusted? (They are out of place before I leave the doctor’s office.) (A) Through creating the conditions where the activities of the nerves from the charges which are given for the boy will be as stamina in the nerves and muscular forces of the body.

12. (Q) Why am I always tired? (Go to bed tired & get up just as tired.) (A) The general strain on the nervous system. Thus this is why there is the low electrical charge which is to stimulate, and as it acts through the body, through the assimilating system, the foods and vitalities taken will stimulate better energy for the body.

13. (Q) Any advice towards foods? (A) Those which are body-building, but these applications should give the body greater appetites. Supply the body with well-balanced foods, those which are rich in vitamins, and take more of those in foods than in supplements for this body.

14. (Q) Will this help arthritic condition [in hands, upper limbs & under knees. When I sit it gets very painful]? (A) All of this is tending towards aiding in stimulating eliminations and assimilations, and these are sources of arthritic tendencies.

15. (Q) What environ is suggested to change to? (A) Where there are not over-anxieties for the body. Not someone always pitying the body, but someone encouraging the body.

R1. 7/11/44 Letter from Dr. […], M.D. specializing in “Electro-Therapeutics”: “I am very disappointed in the Physical Rdg. you gave Miss [5289]. I have studied electricity over 50 years and psychic phenomena over 30 years, and have received much very valuable information from the Spirit world. And then to receive data on ‘Wet Cell Appliance’. It was shocking to say the least, to suggest passing 3 amperes D.C. through the body. That would cause instant death. Of course I realize it is impossible to pass any appreciable current through the body with a single cell, and as for passing any chemical into the body using the hook-up you suggest is quite absurd. Please remove my name from your files and forget I ever recommended a patient to you.”

R2. 7/11/44 [5289]‘s letter: “We know there is little resistance left in the body and what caused it, but we came to you for help in finding what would help raise the resistance. Several years ago I received a trance reading for exactly $1 and she really told me something, so naturally we think your price was exorbitant. Kindly destroy my reading, as I want nothing further to do with your A.R.E.”

R3. 7/19/44 EC’s answer to Dr. […]: “I think you have the wrong idea about the Physical Rdg. for Miss [5289]. It was not meant to use 3 amperes D.C. on her body, but to charge the Appliance. This gives off scarcely a perceptible amount [see 1800-24 Reports], which we have found - in 40 years of experience - to be helpful. I just wanted to correct your thought in that direction.

R4. 8/16/44 EC’s answer to [5289]: “We are returning, herewith, your $20 membership fee. We are sorry indeed not to have been able to be the means of service.”
