This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at the office of the Association, Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 1st day of July, 1944, in accordance with request made by the daughter, Mrs. […], new Associate Member of the Ass”n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc., recommended by the article in Coronet Magazine.

1. GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving the cause of the existing conditions, also suggestions for help and relief of this body; answering the questions, as I ask them:

2. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [5299].

3. As we find, these are disturbances which may not be other than materially aided. These are the result of karmic conditions for the body, as well as those about the body. We may help, yes.

4. While there are the disturbances which are causing premature senile conditions or the withering away of the control of mental reflexes, there should be care and loving-kindness, gentleness and patience administered to the body. These will not only bring a greater attempt for the reactions but will bring the greater ability for the soul-entity’s development.

5. It would be well at times, as there are those bridges in the associations between the sympathetic and cerebrospinal nerve forces, to be careful that the body does not injure itself or others; but do not put the body away, unless there becomes more of that which would be, or cause it to be, dangerous for others.

6. Do prepare the Wet Cell Appliance which would carry Gold in such manners to the assimilated forces of the body to improve the nerve forces of the body, and build a much better reflection. This should be prepared regular strength, but the plain active forces through the Wet Cell Appliance. Attach it to the body about three times each week. Divide these, every other day would be the better manner to prepare it, so that these change about. The application would be made for one-half an hour every other day.

7. The small copper plate attach to the 9th dorsal. The larger plate, through which is carried the Chloride of Gold Sodium (one grain to one ounce of distilled water), would be attached to the umbilical and lacteal duct plexus, which on this particular body would be the width of two fingers directly to the right of the navel center and three fingers up from that point.

8. It is necessary to recharge the Appliance every thirty days and change the Gold solutions at the same time.

9. After each of the treatments do massage the body gently, especially along the areas of the spine, from the base of brain to the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th and 7th cervicals, and from the end of the spine upward in a circular motion along the spine and either side of same.

10. These offer the greater help. Do these and we offer for the body the better conditions, the betterment of those conditions as to prevent the solitude which seems to envelop the being of the body at times.

13. (Q) Should she be watched at all times? (A) As has been indicated, especially when there are those periods of restlessness indicated.

14. (Q) In her present condition does she know what is going on around her, does she understand when spoken to or is it just certain times that her brain is completely normal? (A) Only at very small intervals. But we will find much improvement and a quieter reaction with the use of the Appliance and the massage.

B1. 11/1/43 Daughter’s letter: “My mother just came home from Medical Center after being there 10 days for observation. Her case was called a rare brain disease and, as far as is known, there is no cure. She is losing the power of speech and has already lost the power to write, tell time or do any actions such as lacing shoes, etc. The doctors explained to me that between her brain and scalp there is only an air space and her brain cells are drying up one by one… According to Medical Center this case of hers is not a form of insanity, as what little brain she has functions, but it is so pitiful.”

B2. 12/9/43 Daughter’s letter: “Her diagnosis is Pre-senile Sclerosis [Alzheimer’s disease], which is premature old age, along with hardening of the arteries and the part of her brain which controls the power of speech is affected. She is now getting pains in her head and we have no idea how long she will last. Her age is as of a woman in her eighties.”

B3. 6/19/44 Daughter’s letter: “These questions keep going through my mind…it is so hard to sit by and not be able to do anything to make life easier for her. 1. Will she eventually have to be put away? 2. Is the report from Medical Center correct?”
