This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at the office of the Association, Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 5th day of July, 1944, in accordance with request made by the self - Miss [5315], new Associate Member of the Ass”n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc., recommended by the book, THERE IS A RIVER.

1. GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving the cause of the existing conditions, also suggestions for help and relief of this body; answering the questions, as I ask them:

2. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [5315].

3. As we find, there are disturbing conditions and these primarily began from a catarrhal condition in the nasal passages and in the throat. These effects upon the body cause a great deal of acidity, and the lack of eliminations causes the suppression of supplying of the flow of energies to the organs of the sensory system.

4. And thus we have a condition in face, especially along the eustachian tube, that has caused and is causing (and will grow, unless corrections are made) a greater distress in the auditory nerves of head, neck and shoulders, and thus the hearing is gradually growing more and more a disturbing factor.

5. As we find, there should be first a sufficient number of mechano-therapy or osteopathic treatments, as to relax the body, to correct those conditions in the brachial areas, of the upper dorsals 5th to the 1st, the 1st and 2nd cervical, and then gradually break away those lesions through finger surgery which are causing distress to the central portion of the ear itself.

6. This, as we find, would require, dependent upon the response the body makes, not more than two or three at the outside of these treatments, and only the first being severe.

7. This should not only stop these conditions but the general health of the body should be much improved by setting up better drainages throughout the system, and we would bring back at least eighty percent of the hearing.

9. (Q) What is the cause of the dizzy spells? (A) The unbalance in the central portion of the ear as just indicated. The rheumatic like poison in the body from lack of proper eliminations, as has been indicated. We should set up better eliminations through these applications.

Do as has been indicated and we will bring better conditions.

R1. 9/13/44 Letter from [480]: “I heard from [5315] - have an appointment to see her next week… The osteopath I’ve been going to is Dr. John H. Morrison, D.O. - he is very fine and seems sympathetic to the information. I have been sending all your patients to him; he took over Dr. John R. Thompson’s office in the … The only finger surgeon here is supposed to be very good - I went to him when we first started with the information. He almost threw mother [601] and me out of the office when she showed him the reading. I don’t know how he will receive Miss [5315]. Probably Dr. Morrison will handle it since he’ll give the treatments. Dr. Lloyd A. Seyfried, D.O. (finger surgeon) does no treating.”

R2. 12/6/44 Letter: “Would you kindly let me know what procedure I should follow to make an appointment for a check reading. I know that Mr. Cayce is ill, but thought possibly appointments were being arranged for some future time.”

R5. 5/8/49 Letter from [5315]: “My deafness and rheumatic-like pains in arms - shoulders has been progressive over a period of 2-3 years - at least that’s when I became aware of it. As far as I know, Dr. John H. Morrison, D.O. treated me according to EC’s suggestions. I’m sorry I cannot report success. I really don’t know if he found the condition needing correction in the brachial areas, 5th to 1st dorsal, 1st and 2nd cervical, as the reading advised, but he did find that I needed a lot of straightening out.”
