This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at the office of the Association, Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 3rd day of July, 1944, in accordance with request made by the self, Mr. [5317], new Associate Member of the Ass”n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc.

1. GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving the cause of the existing conditions, also suggestions for help and relief of this body; answering the questions, as I ask them:

2. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [5316].

3. As we find, the disturbances here are the incoordination of eliminations produced by infectious forces as part of the circulation from the blood supply inherent in the body-forces.

4. These are severe, but if there will be this character of application we may clear the skin conditions from head, scalp, hands, arms and body. These we would begin with, then, first by preparing this combination:

5. Two level tablespoonsful of Sulphur, two level tablespoonsful of Cream of Tartar, two level tablespoonsful of Rochelle Salts. Mix these thoroughly together, and every other day, in the morning, take a level teaspoonsful of this, either dry or stirred in water. After about ten doses (take it every day until the whole quantity is taken), then apply Lenoir’s Eczema Remedy as an application to the places themselves. These will be aided before this time, but apply this to the affected areas, bathing off same with Cuticura Soap used in lukewarm water.

6. Also apply occasionally Cuticura Ointment to keep the skin dry and from drawing and cracking again.

7. In the diets keep them to more of fruit and vegetables than meats. Less and less of starches, not white bread at any time. Very few meats, and we will bring better conditions for this body.

8. Ready for questions.

9. (Q) Any local application for the scalp? (A) All of this applies for scalp as well as face, hands, arms or the rest of the body.

R1. 7/13/44 [5316]‘s letter: “The reading touched only my skin trouble. This is not my main concern. Mine is a case of progressive paralysis noticeable first when about 2 years of age. Later years a severe intestinal trouble developed. Diagnosed by physicians as collapsed intestines. There is also a curvature of the spine… Would this be answered under another reading… I intend to follow your suggestions for this skin trouble and will report on the progress.”

R2. 8/23/44 “I have followed the treatment you recommended for my skin trouble and can say after the 5th dose I noticed an improvement. I have now finished the internal medicine, and the trouble is mostly cleared up on my head and face. I will continue with the diet and external applications.”

R3. 9/14/44 [5316]‘s mother’s letter [Apparently she had been doing all the writing for her son]: “My son [5316] is so interested in your work, he has asked me to try and get an appointment for his crippled brother and little crippled sister.”

R4. 1/16/45 Ordered case study on Multiple Sclerosis.

R5. 3/20/45 “My reading must have been among the last EC was able to give before he became ill, and I know what it must have meant. With the aid of my doctor I would like to use the Wet Cell and the Radio-Active Appliance, and would like to know where these are obtainable.”

R6. 12/20/48 Mother’s letter: “My son [5316] passed away last February. He always enjoyed your literature. Will you please erase his name from your mailing list?”

R7. 12/20/48 Mother’s letter to HLC: “About Mrs. Jessel, that is why we gave up our home in Washington and come here. She is a very lovely person. I have known a few mental cases she has helped. My three children never received any help. We have been here five years. Her crowds are large, people sell their homes and come from all over the U.S. and Canada. They get here, no place to live, and many die here waiting to see her. In a short time their money is gone. The treatments extend over months, into years. Mrs. Jessel is very frail; in a crowd of 200 each day she may possibly treat 18 or 20. There are no prayers, just the laying on of her hands. People are here in tents, house trailers, or anything they can find. Jessels have a few cottages renting from 50 to 80 per month. Her address is Mrs. Susie Jessel, 278 Idaho St., Ashland, Oregon.”
