This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at the office of the Association, Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 6th day of July, 1944, in accordance with request made by the son, [2998], Active Member of the Ass”n for Research and Enlightenment, Inc.

1. GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving the cause of the existing conditions, also suggestions for help and relief of this body; answering the questions, as I ask them:

2. EC: Yes, as we find, while conditions are serious, they need not necessarily be uncontrollable. While conditions must in some respects be worse before they are better, there has been the correct interpretation of the disturbances and there needs to be only those precautions, as following through with the suggested applications.

3. While the body is weak from the hemorrhages, the use of the penicillin for the checking of the inflammation, and to produce coagulation, has not been bad. It may be necessary again when there are the operations for the conditions in the lower portion of the rectal area, and some of the conditions there will necessitate or would be much better if this would be used in same.

4. The form or manner of allaying pain, or the anesthesia, the local nature, if properly administered, will be much preferable owing to the conditions of the heart or of the pressure there.

5. These, we find, followed through would and should, unless other complications arise, bring better conditions for this body.

6. Ready for questions.

7. (Q) When will be best to operate for the hemorrhoids? (A) Just as soon as it is indicated that there is sufficient equilibrium or balance in the circulation.

8. (Q) Will Pentothal be a good anesthetic? (A) As has been indicated, any local will be preferable to a general anesthetic here.

9. (Q) Will Penicillin have an adverse commulative effect in this body? (A) Not necessarily, for it will be necessary, as indicated, to use again. Not if there is kept a good circulation.

10. (Q) What condition is present in nose and head? (A) While these cause irritation these are not those disturbing just at the present, see? When there is better circulation established following the local anesthetic, there will be made much change here.

11. (Q) What is condition in colon? (A) As indicated, this is very well understood. While there is inflammation there, it is stayed in the present. Don’t cause the over-activity again or irritations. It would be well when it is practical to apply grape poultice to remove inflammation. But you won’t get it here at the present time.

In the diets, those which are easily assimilated, beef juice, liver extract, not necessary for this to be given by injection but beef juice taken often will give strength and will not be adverse to the condition of the heart or of the eliminations. All foods which are strengthening and body-building. Plenty of foods with vitamin E and B and B complex. All of these should be given the body, and we will find they will bring better conditions.

Follow through with these things indicated.

The operation was highly successful, and altho her condition has been extremely painful, she is on the road to recovery. I am hoping to be able to get a second Physical Rdg., for her if you have an open period. She and I want to thank you again for your very fine help, and she asked me to tell you that she never fails to remember you in her prayers.”

R3. 10/13/52 Comment by D. H. Fogel, M.D., after studying case [5327]: “The local anesthetic recommended is a very difficult thing to obtain - surgeons don’t want to operate under it; very few of them will do it.”

B1. 7/3/44 Wire from son [2998]: “Mother’s medical diagnosis shows colitis with a few colonies of hemolytic strept in colon which are thought to have to [come?] there from her head and nose condition. She has bad hemorrhoids which hemorrhaged Sunday. Neo Protosil has been given her and Penicillin treatment has been started today. Her colon has been painfully cauterized with 5% silver nitrate and aristol. Her nose and head condition has not been treated. They propose to make a vaccine of nose and colon culture for future treatment and operate for hemorrhoids later. She has been allergic for years to almost every kind of food and drink and suffers from malnutrition. 1. What is cause and cure of body rash and swelling? 2. Is there any trace of tuberculosis present. What is her blood count?”
