This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at the office of the Association, Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 17th day of July, 1944, in accordance with request made by the father - Dr. […], new Associate Member of the Ass”n for Research and Enlightenment, Inc., recommended by the book, THERE IS A RIVER.

1. GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving the cause of the existing conditions, also suggestions for help and relief of this body; answering the questions, as I ask them.

2. EC: Yes, yes, here we have an entity meeting its own self. These are not desirous and yet it is for the unfoldment and development of this soul-entity. Physically, only helpful influences may be brought for the mental and soul-self. Much may be the contribution for this entity in the present in kindness, patience, love. All of these are needed in the body. These will aid the soul. For, remember, the soul never forgets and that which is practiced to the soul, in the soul, will bring eventually a growth in the knowledge, in the understanding of the love of the Creative Forces.

3. Here we find an individual entity born not only to be a charge to the parents but it is needed for the parents, as well as needed by the entity.

4. There should be the use of the Wet Cell Appliance which would carry Chloride of Gold Sodium to the body in the regular manner, in the proportions of one grain to one ounce of distilled water. Attach the small copper plate at the 9th dorsal. The larger plate would be attached at the umbilical and lacteal duct center, which on this body would be the width of three fingers from the navel center to the right and two fingers up from that point. This should be done about an hour before the body is ready to retire at night. Do keep the plates very clean. Do take these connections from solution when not in use. Prepare them at least twenty minutes before this is attached to the body.

5. Follow each application of this Appliance with a massage using equal portions of Olive Oil and Peanut Oil. This should be almost a thorough massage of the whole body. Along spine, limbs, across the abdomen and especially in the emunctory centers, down the frontal portion of the body. First at the base of the neck or in the muscular forces just opposite the trachea. Then just below the breast and that at the head of the portion of the stomach where the esophagus enters, then in those just above and just below the navel center and at the pubic center. These especially are to be massaged with this solution.

6. Do this regularly and we will not only find help to the body (not curative but help to the body) but a more gentle and a better activity throughout the body.

7. Don’t put the body away, it needs the love, the attention.

R1. 4/5/49 GD requested report from [5335]‘s father and returned by him 4/26/49 as follows: Treatment suggested in the reading was followed for three months; [5335] showed no change at time nor any since. “We pinned our last hope on the reading…be glad to hear from you at any time; we greatly appreciate kind thoughts expressed in your letter.”

R2. 8/31/75 Report by A.R.E. member, Anna Beltrani: “Thanks ever so much for so promptly sending me the enclosed file. I found the file of interest and help. However, may I please have the file on Mongolism:Children Abnormal?

“You asked how this file has helped. Our baby is Down Syndrome, and for the first six months of his life we massaged him nightly with equal parts of Olive, Peanut and Castor Oils. We are now taking him twice weekly to an A.R.E. cooperating chiropractor for the Cayce recommended adjustments. We are much encouraged. The baby is alert, responsive, his appetite and eliminations have improved. He is stronger physically and his gift to us on his first birthday, August 29, 1975, was to clap hands when we asked him to do ‘patty cake.’ We are grateful to Him for his ‘amazing grace’ and to the Cayce Foundation which is a pure channel for this grace…”

B1. 6/20/44 Letter from father: “She was born…in delivery we noticed a depression one each side of her skull at temporal area; for several weeks she made no sound and found difficulty in nursing; unable to walk until 3 1/2 years of age; did not talk until 6 years and still unable to make distinct words or carry on natural conversation as there is no continuity of thought or definite co-ordination of mental processes; seems to understand what is told to her but unable to make her own thoughts register; concentration is almost nil although she can listen to the radio and pick out the tunes on the piano; she loves music and pictures; can take care of her personal needs but we have someone to watch over her all the time; is short of stature and somewhat heavy.

“Medical doctors at first said she was a mongolian type and would not live to be 6 years old but that thyroid tablets might help and these were given for quite a while, then manipulative treatment was used and she improved very definitely up to a certain point and has remained thus ever since. Can anything further be done for her?”
