This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at the office of the Association, Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 8th day of July, 1944, in accordance with request made by the father-in-law, Dr. […], new Associate Member of the Ass”n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc., recommended by the article in Coronet Magazine.

1. GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving the cause of the existing conditions, also suggestions for help and relief of this body; answering the questions, as I ask them:

2. EC: Yes, as we find, there are disturbances and these are rather serious, as there are those effects to the organs of the sensory system from accumulations which affect the direct activity of the optic nerve, from inflammations which are created.

3. These are gradually destroying the ability of vision, as well as having effect upon other conditions through the body.

4. But with the use of the short-wave, which would be set by the body-forces themselves through the electronic energies of the activities in the system, we may be able to disseminate or destroy this virus which has been a part of the constitution or the general vitality in the body itself.

5. These, as we find, should be considered through the agencies of the electronics and the iconics [radionics?], or the activity of the electric forces as indicated by Miller Mary A. Miller, D.C.]. These we would do.

6. These offer the greater opportunities for the body for there being a resuscitation or reviving of the body sufficiently to combat the elements in the body-forces here.

7. That we would do.

9. (Q) What should be done for the sacro-iliac trouble? (A) As the application is made for the corrections in the brachial centers by mechanotherapy the iliac may be helped also, for the short-wave will aid these conditions also.

10. (Q) For sinus and nervous trouble? (A) All of these are a combination of the same disturbance, the infections which arise between sympathetic and sensory organisms, as from infection from inherent disturbances in body.

11. (Q) Any local application for the eyes? (A) No local application, only washes for the eyes when the treatments are applied.

R1. 4/1/49 Report requested by GD from [5340]‘s father-in-law. No reply.

R2. 8/27/68 GD’s note: Dr. Mary A. Miller, a chiropractor, was using a radionics machine (sometimes referred to as an aetheronics machine) in her practice, with good results in many cases of individuals afflicted with various illnesses. It was not a specific for one type of ailment. I think it was beginning to be used mostly by chiropractors about that time. Mr. [5340] was perhaps referred to her because she had the machine and could follow also the rest of the treatments recommended, being familiar with the Edgar Cayce readings. She also was in his vicinity. [Dr. Mary A. Miller died many years ago. I suppose the machine is still used in the chiropractic profession.]

B1. 12/27/43 Letter from father-in-law: “He has Retinitis Pigmentosis and is slowly going blind. We have had him to a number of the best Eye Specialists her and they say that there is nothing they can do, as the disease is only in the experimental stage and they do not know of anything that will benefit him. They are trying to experiment with Nicotinic Acid, 100 gm. daily, trying to see if that will do him any good. There is no reading glass powerful enough for him to see to read with. He is now employed as a gardener at a school at $120 a month and his wife is going to have a child very soon.”
