This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at the office of the Association, Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 26th day of August, 1944, in accordance with request made by the self - Mr. [5403], new Associate Member of the Ass”n for Research and Enlightenment, Inc.
[Edgar Cayce; Gertrude Cayce, Conductor; Gladys Davis, Grace Premo, Stenos.]
Time of Reading At home …, Set bet. 10:30 to 11:30 A. M. Eastern War Time. …, Tenn.
-
GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving the cause of the existing conditions, also suggestions for help and relief of this body; answering the questions, as I ask them.
-
EC: Yes, we have the body here [5403].
-
As we find, conditions are very serious here, for this disorder is rather of the progressive nature and a multiple activity in the glandular forces which supply from liver and the central nervous circulation and blood supply, causing deterioration to muscular and nerve forces, especially of the extremities. These are to be met.
-
These, as we find, then, will require, first, that there be an entire change in the activity of the glandular forces of the body.
-
We may find helpful to this body the use of the low electrical forces through the Wet Cell Appliance, carrying Chloride of Gold and the Appliance charged with Iodine.
-
Make the Appliance with at least two pounds of the Copper Sulfate. Increase the amount of the Zinc 1/4. Increase the amount of the Acid 1/4. Suspend the Iodine (two ounces) in a tightly corked bottle in the solution, and charge on a low battery charge, never raising the charge above three amperes, but the discharge will be very, very small.
-
Use then the Sodium Chloride of Gold, one grain to one ounce of distilled water. The application of the connection passing through the Gold should be to the umbilical and lacteal duct plexus, or over the area of the lower portion of the gall duct, which on this body will be found to be the width of four fingers from the navel center to the right and two fingers up from that point. There attach the large plate. The small copper plate attach at the fourth lumbar.
-
This treatment should be given for one-half an hour each day. Following this treatment each day there should be a thorough massage of the body with Peanut Oil. Begin at the 1st cervical, massage downward, more along the nerves outside of the central nervous system, or the sympathetic, down to the end of the spine; then through the hips, across the sacrum to the limbs, the feet and toes. This do thoroughly. If there is use a good talcum after the body is cleansed off from the oil, this will not irritate the skin.
-
In the diets, keep away from salt, taking very little, if any, and that only the kelp salt. Do have plenty of vegetables and certain types of nuts, as filberts, almonds and of such natures. Others, beware of too much of them. Cashews may be included. Black walnuts, beware of. Pecans are very good. Prepare these nuts oft with raw salads. These should be grated or cut fine, but preserve the juices of same. Do give the body, once a week, a Jerusalem Artichoke. This should be cooked, but prepared in Patapar paper so that the juices of same will be mixed with the pulp when prepared. Do not season with much salt, but butter may be added. Fish, especially sea foods rather than fresh water fish. These are well for the body. Small quantities of fowl, especially the bony pieces, may be taken.
-
Do this; we offer the greater opportunity for regaining the strength, the vitality, for this body.
-
We are through with this reading.

(See extra sheet [which was enclosed] of directions [[5341] Reports] to be sent to Mr. A. M. Godfrey, 2709 Lafayette Blvd., Norfolk, Va., for preparing the Wet Cell Appliance to be used in this individual case. Also article explaining theory of this Appliance.
If unable to obtain Jerusalem artichokes on the market in your vicinity, they may be ordered for a few cents a pound from The John A. Salzer Seed Co., Lacrosse, Wisconsin.
At your convenience we would appreciate having a complete history of your case to the time of obtaining the reading, so that we may have something with which to compare our information. Include in this the diagnosis and prognosis according to medical findings.)
Reports
Reports & Follow-up
R1. 9/44 He did order the Appliance from Mr. Godfrey.
R2. 11/1/44 Case history sent by [5403]: “In July 1939 my case was diagnosed as coronary occlusion, high blood pressure, thyroid disturbance and low acid condition of the stomach. After 18 months of complete rest, and many kinds of medicine (including Lugol’s solution), this doctor said coronary thrombosis had developed.
“In early 1941 other doctors said there was no sign of coronary disease, only leakage of the heart and stomach trouble.
“In January 1943 my appendix was removed, and 6 weeks later, since I still suffered with my stomach, the doctor decided I must have ulcerated stomach and put me on a strict diet, and 6 to 8 doses of Amphojel a day. After a year of this I tried goats’ milk about 2 Months, and when this didn’t help they tried hydrochloric acid for about 6 weeks.
“Since the beginning of this summer these stomach attacks have occurred more frequently until now they come about once a week and last 3 to 4 days.”
R3. 11/3/44 “So far, have been unable to find the pure kelp salt. I can get a mixture of 10% kelp and 90% sodium bicarbonate, but do not feel this is what you intended… I have been using the Wet Cell appliance about 6 weeks now, and hope I will soon begin to notice some favorable results.”
R4. 12/6/44 GD sent him address for obtaining kelp salt.
R5. 7/15/49 Report requested by GD from him.
R6. 2/10/50 Answer to questionnaire: Date of onset 7/7/39. Still have some troubles, not as bad as formerly. EC treatment was used 8 months, relief resulted.
R7. GD’s note: A letter was recently found dated 7/5/43 re. Mr. [5403] by his minister: “Mr. [5403] is suffering from what the doctors call coronary occlusion and ulcerated stomach. His physician has said that about 2 or 3 months are all that can be hoped for. But the doctors gave him up in 1939. After 2 years in bed he began to go around again…”
R8. 10/9/52 Comment by D. H. Fogel, M.D. when studying this case: “Coronary occlusion (thrombosis) is an equivocal diagnosis among patients’ physicians. In accordance with EC regimens this case is highly suggestive of only a marked, progressive glandular disturbance.”
Background
Background
B1. 3/7/44 Letter: “I’ve placed great confidence in your reading, and hoped that from it, I could get some relief of the pains I suffer.” 1. What medicine or treatments can I take to effect a cure, or at least improve my health? 2. What is the principal cause of my illness? 3. Is the work I am engaged in, and are the hours I work, detrimental to me? 4. Will I ever feel as well, and be able to work as hard physically, as I did before I took sick 5 1/2 years ago?
