This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at his office, 115 West 35th Street, Virginia Beach, Va., this 19th day of May, 1930, in accordance with request made by her parents, Mr. [5417] and Mrs. [337].

Time of Reading 11:25 A. M. Eastern Standard Time. New York City. (Physical Suggestion)

1. EC: Yes, we have the body here - this we have had before. There are some conditions as produce distresses in the body, through the changes as may be termed of the variations in the blood stream as related to change of season, change of conditions in the physical forces of the body.

2. We would prepare THIS as a tonic to be taken, and we would - as soon as possible - or as the body rests - be as much in the open air and sunshine as possible. Not to BAKE the body, but air, salt, sea, sand, shade - these would be better for the body; but take THIS as a tonic; not neglecting the use of the appliance, and see that all the ENDS are in COORDINATING way.

3. To one gallon of distilled water, add:

Wild Cherry Bark…2 ounces, Sarsaparilla Root…2 ounces, Prickly Ash Bark…2 ounces, Yellow Dock Root…1 ounce, Burdock Root…1 ounce.

Reduce this by simmering, not boiling, to ONE quart. Strain, and while it’s warm add Elixir Calisaya 1/2 ounce. Cut 2 drams Balsam of Tolu in 3 ounces grain alcohol and stir in same. Shake solution before the dose is taken, which would be half a teaspoonful four times each day.

4. Be mindful that the diet is without meats, except of fish or fowl - wild fowl, see? but at least ONE meal each day should be green vegetables, for at least a week or ten days. Then the body may REST from same and then begin again. Ready for questions.

5. (Q) What causes headache and vomiting? (A) Coming from the disorders as has just been given, as respecting the poor assimilation and the HEAVINESS of the blood supply.

Those abrasions on body may be removed by caustic, or burning off - or they may be removed by one who has sufficient of electromagnetic influence in the touch as to disintegrate the VIBRATIONS as may be done, even by concentration and massaging just a bit.

6. (Q) Are glasses necessary? (A) Not if adjustments and the proper assimilations take place in the system, without producing the pressure in the upper portions of the system. That’s why we are putting in the sun. When in the SUN, the body should use sun GLASSES, to be sure.

R1. 6/3/30 Father [5417]‘s letter: ”…Just a line to let you know how much Mrs. [337], [5416], and I appreciate the splendid manner in which you managed to take care of my recent request. It sure was wonderful of you and words cannot express our gratitude. It simply proves that ‘a friend in need is a friend indeed’ and, as we count upon you as one of our dearest friends, it certainly has made it wonderful and at the same time we are proud of you and speak of you and yours to all our friends in the most lauding manner.

“I can hardly wait until I see you and thank you in person. Within the next two or three weeks I believe I am going to entice Mrs. [337] and [5416] to take a trip with me to Virginia Beach and, at that time, I may probably stay four or five days and then leave Mrs. [337] and [5416] there as long as we can hold them. There is no place that I would rather go to than Virginia Beach, under the supervision of the Cayces and would ask you to please not say anything to Mrs. [337] or [5416] should you write them, except in a casual way you may ask them if they expect to visit Virginia Beach.

“We all sincerely hope that your father is now fully recovered and trust that this finds you and your dear wife and family all enjoying the very best of health and am happy to say that the tonic for [5416] is doing her a lot of good…”

R2. 7/17/30 Miss [5416] wrote for reservations for herself and mother, expressing enthusiasm regarding coming to Virginia Beach: ”…My headaches still persist, but I guess it’s because we’re all anxious to get down to Virginia Beach…”

R7. 7/23/43 Letter: ”…By now you must have received the chair that [5417] sent you. It was made to Dad’s order, and cannot possibly be bought today as it is all spring construction and the finest of material. Daddy [5417] and Mother [337] and I want you and Mrs. Cayce to accept this with our love and appreciation, and hope that you will use it in the best of health…”
