This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at his office, 115 West 35th Street, Virginia Beach, Va., this 11th day of November, 1930, in accordance with request made by self - Mrs. [5424].

1. EC: Yes, we have the entity and those relations with the universe and universal forces, as are latent and exhibited in the present entity, [5424].

2. In entering, astrologically, we find the entity, in its direct influence, in those of Venus, Mercury, Jupiter, and Uranus. In the experience in the present plane, many of the influences have been willed against. Hence we have a condition that has been a combative one in the latent experiences of the entity. While many conditions have been GRATIFYING in the experience, MORE have been not altogether satisfactory, and that continual seeking for something as will be both satisfying and give a gratification - not of material desires, but of self’s accomplishing something in the experience of a worth while nature - has been disappointing, in a part, to the present.

3. ONE condition, physical - in the digestive system, or intestinal tract more proper - relating to digestion and organs of pelvis - the body should have looked after.

4. In those things builded in the present experience, the IDEALS have been set high - and at times there has come doubts in self as to abilities to accomplish that as is INNATELY the desire of the body. Those of the imaginative forces as relate to the mental body oft carry the body far afield. Hence not wholly satisfied with some of the tenets to which the body has, in part, ascribed self to.

5. In the MENTAL field, as in those of Mercurian and Venus - with Jupiter, brings for a vast experience, and especially true in that field of the young that is budding into the field of thought, and to THIS side of life’s experience has the most thought and the greater possibilities of the entity IN the present experience of finding that to which the body mind, the mental body, would attain.

6. In those things innate in the entity, we find oft the mental and the spirit OF a condition, element, or a movement, impels the entity, when many an associate only sees the material side of the proposition. This makes oft for unrest, for the entity may become VERY enthusiastic as regarding a proposition when the spirit of truth emanates through same, but when the entity finds same is ruled rather by that of a materialistic view, even of a spiritualistic view, it becomes rather sodden, and the entity fails wholly in keeping that enthusiasm as has been created by the entity. Hence at times peoples and groups have called the entity a slacker in some respects. These, however, have little in common with the real purposes in the entity’s development, or are able to gain little of the vision as has been seen or gained by the entity.

7. In the innate and manifested personalities, a home body - and a MAKER of homes, but rather for someone else.

8. One that finds childhood, especially the adolescent age, the most interesting to the body, both from the mental standpoint and from the spiritual essence as may be manifested in the hopefulness, the genuineness, the sincerity, of youth in its endeavors.

9. In those conditions as come in the present experience through associations, or relativity of circumstances and environment with those of hereditary, through the appearances in the earth’s plane:

10. In the one before this we find in that land known as England, and as a companion to that queen known as Anne. The entity then gained much, lost much, during this experience. While under those troublesome periods, especially in the social and religious life of the entity, these brought many of those doubts and fears as respecting morality as judged from those who would make as prelate example and those who would LIVE same in an everyday experience; for many of the tenets the ENTITY caught much of the SPIRIT of same, rather than that of the LETTER of same. In the present we find those fears of “What will people say?”, of “What will be the ultimate outcome of the environmental forces of those who may be wielded to, won from, or guided by influences of the entity?” These bring fear and trembling at times, and the entity fails through fear.

11. In the one before this we find in that land known as the Grecian, and during those periods when there was the setting aside of the individual gratification of desires in the body, as was presented by the peoples of that land. The entity then among those that were caught, as it were, between halting opinions, and - as Xeniae - the entity gave much to the peoples, especially to the young of that period, in exhortation, in example, in tenets, and in the way of LEADERS of groups being taught BY the entity - but still in the same sex, and while evil spoken of at times, the entity gained throughout that experience; for in the innate forces as are seen in the present, as of the abilities to hold for the BEAUTIFUL things in life, even as may be expressed in body motion, in voice, in the culture of those in the musical world, whether of stringed, reed, or of the pipe - these, to the entity, become as stepping stones, and as a USEFUL manner to present the various interpretations of the building or budding, or of the CONTEMPLATED forces in the imagination of the youth.

12. In the one before this we find in that land known as the Egyptian, during that periods of reconstruction - as it were - between the priest as was banished and the building of those various offices as made for an understanding of man’s relationships to his fellow man, of man’s relationships to the creative forces as were manifested. The entity then among those that were raised to the position as the TEACHER of the young, and ESPECIALLY gifted in the interpretation of those things as were presented by what was termed the genealogist, archaeologist, and the scientist of the period, especially as related to chronological orders and of astrological influences. In the name Io-Di-I-E. In this experience the entity excelled, and many were the tenets that were held by the peoples of that land, as GIVEN by the entity, for many, many ages; and much may be yet seen, especially in the south lands, or south PORTIONS of that particular land, as was represented in figure, in speech, in the layouts of the topography of the land, by the entity’s influence on the peoples.

13. In the abilities in the present, and that to which the entity may attain - and how:

14. In the study of self as related to the WHOLE may the entity first gain an insight of the purposes of self. Not as to the material forces, but as to the unit of the whole.

15. In those fields wherein the entity may depict for the young those changes in affairs of men, by the personal activity of INDIVIDUALS, this made into wording and form to suit the early teen aged ones, will be the field of endeavor, and make for an opening up of mental vistas for the entity as to bring GREATER development; for in the study of self, and that as may be given to others, may one find self the better. Ready for questions.

16. (Q) How best may entity develop any psychic talents she may have, or believe she has? (A) In the study of self and self’s relation to the universal forces, as may be made manifest in the various forces and manners as present themselves from time to time; keeping in close association and communication with those inner forces in self, as is found in entering into the silence at the periods as have been set for the entity and self. We are through for the present.
