This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at his office, 115 West 35th Street, Virginia Beach, Va., this 3rd day of April, 1929, in accordance with request made by her brother, Mr. [5540].

1. EC: Yes, we have the body here - [5444]. Now, we find there are conditions that have gradually grown to be acute - from the system’s separating those elements as should have been taken care of in eliminations and creating through same those of the tendencies toward growths, that obstruct - in the way of the normal functioning of organs and their activity in the replenishing and rebuilding.

2. While the body may be eased and those administration given that will prevent much of the pain, there is apparently LITTLE that may be done towards the full recuperation from those conditions unless there were different circumstances under which the administrations might be made. WE would, then, first prepare as this for the system - in this way and manner prepare same:

To 1/2 gallon of rain water, add:

Burdock Root…1 ounce, Yellow Dock Root…1 ounce, Black Snake Root…1 ounce, Mandrake Root…1 dram, Buchu Leaves…1/4 ounce, Sassafras Root Bark…1/2 ounce, Ambrosia Weed…1/2 ounce, Elder Flower…1 1/2 ounce.

Reduce this by simmering, not boiling, to 1/2 the quantity. Strain while warm and add 3 ounces grain alcohol (pure), with 2 drams Balsam of Tolu cut in same. Use only the original herbs, or herbs in original state - where given - and these dried. In the dosage - which should be shaken together before the dose is taken - would be teaspoonful 4 times each day.

3. The diet will have much to do with the assimilation of food for the system. Let this be (the diet) those of the alkalin reaction for the body. No meats at all. No STARCHES that will produce greater distress through the blood supply. And the MASSAGING of the cerebrospinal system with equal parts of olive oil and tincture of myrrh - heat the oil and add the myrrh. At least a tablespoonful of each should be prepared at each treatment, and massaged thoroughly in the spine from at LEAST the brachial plexus to the end of the spine. This should be done at least every OTHER day - preferably EVERY day. Also the upper portion of the cervical region and temple may be bathed off with rub alcohol to reduce the pressure as is produced there by the taxation of the heart’s action.

4. This will materially aid in the relieving of the conditions of this body, [5444]. Ready for questions. We are through for the present.
