This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at his office, 115 West 35th Street, Virginia Beach, Va., this 2nd day of October, 1929, in accordance with request made by her sister, Miss [349].

1. EC: Yes, we have the body, [5450]. Now, we find there are rather those conditions of which the body should be warned, as concerning the physical forces of the body.

2. These conditions have to do with the result of pressures as exist in the physical functioning, especially through the dorsal and lumbar plexus, that bring about specific conditions that cause the resultant effects as are seen in the system, and that by taking or exercising - or disregarding the causes and the seat of the trouble or condition - we are rather constantly aggravating and building detrimental conditions in the physical forces of the body.

3. These, then, are conditions as we find them with this body, [5450], we are speaking of:

4. THE BLOOD SUPPLY, very good at most times. The disturbance in the circulation, more as to the character of the circulation, is disturbed at times through the manner in which drosses or poisons are thrown into the circulation from the lack of proper eliminations through the functioning of the organs as related to the alimentary canal, and the headaches as come from seemingly digestive disturbances are rather the effects of poisonings produced in system through the action of conditions existent in the body as related to this character of elimination.

5. The heart’s action, the conditions in the mucus membranes of the system, are a result of these disturbances for they produce a low degree or form of temperature for the body, and UNLESS there are radical changes, must eventually either produce ulcerations, or lacerations in intestines or stomach, or come to that as is ordinarily known as colitis, or appendicitis.

6. IN THE NERVE FORCES, here we find the signs or the seats of the indications of the disturbance. In the cerebro-spinal centers, especially in the lower lumbar and central dorsal, do we find lesions, indicating the position and condition of disturbance, which is at the BEGINNING of the ascending colon, and the nausea, the heaviness of the feet, the inability to tax the system to any great extent, the weakness as comes about, tingling sensation in hands and feet at times especially when the body first arises from sleep, or when the body sits long in one position the body seems to easily go to sleep in extremities, and a heaviness about the abdomen. These are but indications of the conditions, or lesions as exist in the centers as indicated.

7. THE FUNCTIONING OF THE ORGANS, are naturally disturbed by these, as is seen in throat, heart, liver, bladder at times. These are merely REFLEXES.

8. To meet the needs, then, at the present time, we would first have those centers - through which the disturbances arise - corrected OSTEOPATHICALLY.

9. We would, during this same period that these corrections are being made, cleanse the alimentary canal - that is, take the doses of medicine - those as are found in, not the liquid, but the POWDERED Simmons’ Liver Regulator - to cleanse the system.

10. Well too, at times when this heaviness comes across the lower portion of the abdomen, that saturated solution of Epsom Salts, as a pack, be placed across the lower portion of the spine, upper portion of hips and lower portion of spine, as the body rests. THIS will relax the system thoroughly, releasing the pressure as the corrections are made, and we would find this should bring about, in the course of three to four weeks, a near normal condition, and relieving the body of the distresses.

11. Take the properties - the liver regulator - in VERY SMALL doses, but take at least SOME once each day, until the system is THOROUGHLY cleansed. Well that the body rest from labors during this period.

13. (Q) Shall body attempt to do without glasses or wear them all the time? (A) With the correction of the conditions in the cerebro-spinal system, throughout, we would find that - with the application about twice each week of the violet ray, with the anode that carries the ray directly to the eyes, the body may be RID of glasses entirely. Without the corrections, or without the stimuli, it would be better to wear them continually.

14. (Q) What diet should body follow? (A) Not so much as to what diet, just so it keeps well balanced for the system.

15. (Q) What causes the abscesses on the skin, on the face and legs? (A) Improper elimination, as has been described. The system attempting to adjust itself to the conditions existent, throws out the poisons from the system into the capillary circulation, and they find themselves forming into this character of condition. These, were they dressed with those properties as are found in Tim, would aid in eliminating, as the conditions are being eliminated that cause or produce, or is the base of the condition. Dress with a thin gauze over same, with a thorough application of those properties of evening. They may be cleansed off of a morning, if so desired. A week to ten days should cleanse the system, with the properties as taken as a stimulant for the liver and hepatic circulation, and then the body may return to its labors while the rest of the treatments are being applied, see?

16. (Q) Would it overtax the body physically to attend school at night? (A) It would, until these corrections are made. We are through for the present.

R4. 11/21/29 Letter in answer to Cayce Hospital questionnaire: ”…I am still taking the osteopathic treatments advised by Mr. Cayce in reading. I have taken the Simmon’s Liver Regulator as instructed. Mr. Cayce advised my using Tim for the abscess on my face, and the Hospital promised to send me some, since it is not on the market. I haven’t received it yet and ask you to please send me some as soon as conveniently possible, as the abscess on my face doesn’t seem to improve…”

R5. 11/25/29 Sister [349]‘s letter: ”…Thanks for not forgetting about Tim. It’s really a shame about my sister because she is a stunning-looking girl. She was bride’s maid at my cousin’s wedding Saturday night and she was easily the most outstanding person there. She attracted a lot of favorable attention, and it seems a shame about the large pimples she gets. The poor kid! All of her money, too, goes to doctors for regular osteopathic treatments, and, before that, to the doctors for treatments for the boil on her leg and face…”

R6. 12/2/29 Letter: ”…I was given a reading about a month ago, and in the reading it was suggested that I take a course of osteopathic treatments. This course was given to me by Dr. Morrison.

“However, I still get large pimples, or abscesses, on both my face and body, and every now and then am troubled with slight headaches.

“As I have finished my treatments and would like to see how I am getting along, I wonder if I could have a check reading at your earliest convenience…”

R7. 12/16/29 Letter verifying the appointment: ”…I wrote the Cayce Hospital direct for the medicine [Tim] you suggested for my abscess, and in their reply they suggested that I write you direct for this…”

R9. 1/6/30 Letter: ”…I wonder if I may add a question to the list of questions already sent in by my sister for me? I hope I am not too late.

“The question is this: Is there any change in the shape of my eyes? Not the eye-balls themselves, but the sockets - and what causes it? Can the sockets be enlarged without injury to the eyes, and how can it be done? I hope I make myself clear. It is just this: Can the outside corners of the eyes be made to open, thus making the eyes appear larger?

“I wonder if I may call my medicine [Tim] to your attention again? I understand that you have been ill for a while and are very busy now and it probably has slipped your attention. I seem to be troubled a lot with abscesses, and I understand that Tim is the only thing that will cure me completely…”
