This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at his office, 115 West 35th Street, Virginia Beach, Va., this 15th day of February, 1930, in accordance with request made by her sister, Miss [1918], via Mrs. [5615].

1. EC: Yes. Now, we find there are those conditions with the physical forces of the body as cause distress. These being of a specific nature, and having set within themselves - through that changed vibration created in the system - calls for means that will eradicate same from system. These MIGHT, with the applications that would produce the greater drainage in the system, be absorbed - but, with the mental attitude of the body, with the surrounding environmental forces of the body, these - unless altered or changed - would REQUIRE the operative measures. Changed in the environ, changed in the attitude of the individual, these might be eradicated through absorption, or through the drainages being set up in such a manner as to REDUCE the conditions where they might be taken care OF WITHOUT an operation; but, unless the changes WERE made - unless the environs and mental forces WERE altered - then it SHOULD be operative.

2. There should be care and attention given as to the conditions of the system before this is undertaken, and there should be at least eight to ten days preparation for same; for the engorgement of the Fallopian Tubes, also of the inflammation as created in the system through the pressure caused by this engorgement, brings the distresses and the pains in the body.

3. As for the asthmatic condition, this produced more by the irritation from the pressure produced in the secondary cardiac plexus region, than from a condition in the bronchi and lung itself. The condition in the bronchi being the result of deflections in this region of the 3rd and 4th dorsal center, and the irritation as comes from such a deflection in the blood supply.

4. With the changed environs, with the changed conditions for the body, these corrective measures may be made at the same time that those of the absorption would take place. When the body would make the change, or when the environs would be such - then we may give the proper corrective measures through absorption. Ready for questions.

5. (Q) Is there a chance for happiness for myself and baby with my husband, with conditions existing now as of the past? (A) No, not with conditions as existent of the past - but there are two sides to each question. The change in the relationships, as has been given in the mental attitude, may bring contentment, if not satisfaction. There are duties on the part of each. These must be MET by each, that there may be even those of the relationships that would bring any FORM of contentment.

6. (Q) Where should the body change to, in order to avoid the operation? (A) Anywhere that these may be carried out in a way and manner as would be in conformity to that as may be set up in the system, which would be through absorption, and increasing the eliminations to take care of the absorption, creating for the system more of those elements that call for faster coagulative measures in the system. We are through for the present.

R1. 2/17/30 Friend Mrs. [5615]‘s letter: ”…Miss [1918] spent the day with us yesterday and we discussed at length the ‘readings’. It was remarkably interesting to find how exactly you have diagnosed the case of her sister [5460] and how difficult it is to cope with her. The sister will be here today and we shall see what we can do with her. It would be paradise enough if she could go to Cayce Hospital, but unfortunately she is not financially able to do it, so that is out of the question. However, be assured that everything shall be followed as closely to the letter as is possible…”

R2. 2/26/30 Sister [1918]‘s letter: ”…There is a deep gratitude I shall forever feel to you for the understanding you have had for my worry over my sister, [5460]. Thank you very, very much. My wish for you is happiness and contentment - the two greatest blessings!

R3. 4/8/30 Sister [1918]‘s letter: ”…I have just returned from a few days’ visit to my sister, [5460], in …, Texas, therefore your letter of March 24th was not answered more promptly.

“Since it was impossible to change her environment and conditions, we followed the suggestion as to the operation. Sister [5460] was operated on 3/6/30. The doctor says the operation was most successful. I feel that the recuperation has been very slow, since the wound has not entirely healed, but the doctor says this is due to the patient’s lowered vitality. Just after the operation she had a slight asthma attack. I hope to be able to influence her to lead a more quiet life…”

R4. 8/20/30 Sister [1918]‘s letter: ”…I have answered your letter of March 24th Cayce Hospital Questionnaire] in reference to my sister, [5460]‘s, physical condition, which evidently you have not received.

“My sister, Mrs. [5460], was operated on 3/6/30. While the operation was successful, and she is regaining strength, she is still very nervous.

“Thank you for your friendly interest…”

B1. 2/9/30 Sister [1918]‘s letter: ”…I am very much disturbed about [5460], about whom the doctors say an operation is necessary. Our mutual friend, [5615], is not content to take the doctors’ diagnosis, and I, too, will do nothing further without your advice. Since it is an urgent case I would appreciate a reading as quickly as possible. I know you to be a very busy man, and only for something that is so vital would I ask haste. Please find a check to include a membership and first reading. I hereby prepare a membership blank in the event you can give the reading at once so there will be no added delay… The questions I write are those on which she would ask for advice: I suffer constant pain in my side, have asthma, am always weary and tired. What can I do to correct my suffering? Is the operation necessary? Is there a chance for happiness for myself and baby with my husband with conditions existing now as of the past? What can I do and what changes can I make for greater contentment and ultimate peace of mind for myself and baby?…”
