This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at his office temporarily in Room #2135 of the Hotel Victoria, New York City, this 30th day of October, 1931, in accordance with request made by Dr. E. P. Brenner.

[Edgar Cayce; Gertrude Cayce, Conductor; Gladys Davis, Steno. Bill Cravis and his secretary, and two friends.]

Time of Reading Roanoke Rapids Hospital, 11:10 A. M. Eastern Standard Time. Roanoke Rapids, N.C. (Physical Suggestion)

  1. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [5464]. Now, we find conditions rather serious with this body. Those conditions disturbing the body being of a specific nature, and attach the muco-membranes of the assimilating system in their reflex, or affecting the spinal cord’s activity itself. In the reaction, this must either make for distortions of the extremities in their activity, or such concussions in brain as to destroy the locomotion and the activity of the body. If temperature is allowed to increase, this would make for separations of the body-physical and spiritual.

  2. In meeting the needs of the conditions, then, in the present - that as has been applied in the reducing of temperature in the alleviating of pressures, has been well, yet does not reduce the temperature for sufficient periods to allow resuscitation to become active; so that the assimilating system is under strain, and nausea occurs at times, without digestion being able to be carried on.

  3. With the manipulation we would give those of Atomidine in eight drops three times each day, see? We would also keep those of ice packs or cold packs at the top of head rather than at the base of the spine. We would produce percussion with the manipulation over the liver and the lacteal duct area. This, as we find, will reduce the temperature and give the opportunity for the assimilating and digestive system to supply the proper needs for that as may, unless the excess of infectious forces as are produced in the lymph and the emunctories, override that as may be created in the body. Keep up those of relieving pressures along the spine. Produce percussion over the liver and the pancrean area with those, of course, of the lacteal duct area. Keep the intestinal tract clean. Massage the locomotion area, the brachial plexus and the lumbar plexus, with a weakened solution of the same compound - the Atomidine. This would be ten drops in five drops of water. Do that. That taken internally is eight drops three times each day, in half a glass of water - see? Ready for questions.

  4. (Q) How often should manipulations be given? (A) About twice each day to keep down the temperature.

  5. (Q) Would it be advisable to phone this information or send by air mail? (A) Air mail will reach in time.

  6. We are through for the present.
