1. EC: Yes, we find there has been much change for the better with the physical forces of this body, [5492]. Will they conform well to those suggestions as have been given, they may expect to obtain - just in so far as the conformity is in line with that given, just that will be obtained. No more, no less. We are through with this reading.

R1. 3/23/30 Letter in answer to Cayce Hospital questionnaire: ”…I have changed doctors. The cause of my neuritis has been found, and I am improving wonderfully. I don’t think you could do anything with my case, unless you had a personal contact. However, you were the cause of my changing treatments…”

R2. 8/15/30 Cayce Hospital Research Department Letter: ”…We were very glad to receive your letter of March 23rd, 1930, saying that you were improving wonderfully. We certainly hope that you have continued to improve steadily since that time.

“If you have anything further in regard to your condition which might be of value for our records, we shall be glad to hear from you indeed. It is the desire of the Research Department to check up on each case outside of the Hospital, in order that we might make our records as complete as possible. You probably think it strange that we do not know all this if you correspond with Mr. Cayce regularly, but, you see, these are two separate offices in different parts of town, and as we have hundreds to keep in touch with, you can readily see how each office would not have the same information…”

R3. 8/24/30 Letter: ”…I have not had any communications with Dr. Cayce in many months. I don’t think he could do anything with my case, not being with him. Have had to change doctors

• am yet far from well. I cannot but feel mine is a most unusual and stubborn case…”

R4. 8/29/30 Cayce Hospital Research Department’s letter:

Mrs. [5492] …, Texas

Dear Mrs. [5492]:

Your letter of August 24th was received this morning. We are sorry to hear that you have not noticed any marked improvement in your condition lately. However, we are convinced that the reason you have not is because you have not followed out the suggestions in their entirety. If you will notice in your check reading of February 10th, this fact is set forth very definitely. No one can get the best results if the suggestions are not carried out completely. It is not the fact whether you are near Mr. Cayce at the time he gives the diagnoses, for that has no bearing whatsoever on the case. If you were here, it is true, you probably could get the treatments followed out more fully than you can elsewhere, for the Hospital is equipped with facilities for doing this. However, the mere fact that you are not in personal contact with Mr. Cayce has nothing to do with the results. The results depend on whether you follow these suggestions completely. This is rather hard to understand, but it is true nevertheless.

Please believe that it is our desire to be of service. If you feel that you have followed out the suggestions given as nearly as possible, and are at a loss as to what to do next, we would suggest that you write Mr. Cayce for another check reading. However, if your physician was in sympathy with what we are trying to do, it would help immeasurably.

R5. 9/2/30 Letter: ”…In reply to your letter of August 15th, will say I have not had any communication with Dr. Cayce since my last letter to you. He was not able to take care of my case. I presume it was because he was not in touch with me. My case, I think, must be unusual - however, I have improved some in the last two months, under a new doctor…”
