This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at his office, 115 West 35th Street, Virginia Beach, Va., this 2nd day of April, 1930, in accordance with request made by self - Mrs. [5495], via Mrs. [1192].

[Edgar Cayce; Mrs. Cayce, Conductor; Gladys Davis, Steno.]

Time of Reading 3:30 P. M. Eastern Standard Time. New York, N.Y. (Physical Suggestions)

  1. EC: Yes, we have the body, [5495]. Now, with the physical forces of the body we find there are rather the conditions to be warned of. While conditions at present cause distress at times, the immediate reactions in same are not that as might be at first indicated in the apparent conditions, and there be deeper seated conditions to be considered than appear from the surface. These conditions, as we find, have to do with disturbances as have been within the system from times back. While the condition seems aggravating, and has gradually GROWN, yet the NECESSITY of operation, as considered, as we find, were other conditions considered, and the proper conditions taken in hand, would NOT be NECESSARY for immediate operation. Neither would the condition be aggravated, if properly cared for, WITHOUT the operation at present. Rather, the body to be benefited BY not being operative, will the suggestions as may be given be carried out in the proper way and manner.

  2. These conditions have to do with specific effects, and the effect as is created by the disturbance in the nerve system, in the pelvic organs and in the eliminations of the body.

  3. These, then, be the conditions as we find them with this body, [5495] we are speaking of: First:

  4. IN THE BLOOD SUPPLY, here we find evidences of the disturbance produced in the circulation, of the disturbance in the metabolism of system, and hence that precaution necessary of NOT operating, would the condition respond otherwise - and, as we find, would.

  5. IN THE NERVOUS SYSTEMS, do we find the greater distress. Where there have been adhesions in the system, due to the tissue that became in the manner scar tissue - the LESIONS SHOW there. These have most to do, in the nerve system, with the radial centers from the lower DORSAL and the lower lumbar and sacral region, and with the improper incentives as are manifest through the ganglia of the region, the plethora condition, and the inflammation at times, and the pain has been the result. These altered, these changed, and proper drainage set up in system, these may be reduced and the condition brought to naught; for the response in the vitality, as we find, will be well.

  6. IN THE FUNCTIONING OF THE ORGANS, and the disturbances as created through same:

  7. Brain forces are very good. Discernment and the ability to weigh the various propositions, both mental and physical, are manifest in THIS body.

  8. In the head, and the conditions in throat - these are, as we find, reflexes principally from disturbances as are seen in the lower portion of the body; are NOT causes - that is, the condition is not the cause but the EFFECT from the affectation in the lower portion of body, and WITH correction - though local conditions must be considered - would be corrected in the general corrections for the disturbances in system. These are produced, as we see, through the improper impulses. We find the overflow of nerve energy through the hypogastric and pneumogastric disturbing digestion, and forming that of a reflex through the secondary cardiac forces, as causes too much acidity in stomach, and a resultant effect of the mucus or the soft tissue in throat disturbed, in head, in antrum, in all PORTIONS of the system are of that nature where the system’s disturbed circulation preventing the removal of drosses in the proper manner, or improper drainage, and the condition resultant from same.

  9. The bronchia and lungs, NOT organically affected - yet there are times when disturbance in the BRONCHIALS are an effect of that same cardiac, or secondary cardiac, disturbance.

  10. Digestive system, rather that of nervous digestion - produced as much by the effects of the system attempting to eliminate, throwing too much of refuses through alimentary canal, produce rather the CATARRHAL condition in the duodenum or lower portion of the stomach proper. This, as seen again, reflex. NOT a cause, but a result of a disturbance. Hence, as seen, precautions taken.

  11. Liver and digestive system as related to same - plethora exists in the spleen. In the liver we find those of the excretory system are at a high point of activity, while the SECRETIONS as come for the DIGESTION are low. Hence a nervous digestion.

  12. The colon and the intestinal system also has its condition, from inflammation created in the pelvic regions, where the adhesions and lesions through those portions of the body has produced pressure and plethora.

  13. In the kidneys we have also the disturbances as would naturally be from inflammation through that portion, and the condition as comes from that in the bladder at times are from those of the SEDIMENTARY conditions as would be found existent there.

  14. In meeting the conditions, as we would find them for this body:

  15. First, the body should REST considerable. There should be at least, in the beginning, the increasing of the eliminations in the alimentary canal - but of SUCH a nature as will bring the REST of the system to be able to COORDINATE with same, so that the respiratory system, lymphatic circulation, the lungs themselves, the kidneys themselves, COORDINATE WITH the eliminations of the system in and through the alimentary region. In doing this, this, we would find we would add first, as these - as the body rests; those in small doses. These will be given when the body begins to carry out the instructions: Podophyllum, Leptandrin, Sanguinaria, Licorice Compound; also those of Senna and Dover’s Powders. These will be given in various quantities when the conditions are to be carried out.

  16. We would also, following same, have those corrections made in the cerebro-spinal system, osteopathically, with the local treatments as would be necessary in the pelvic regions and organs; using at the same time that the eliminants through the alimentary canal are begun, those of the colonic irrigations, with the application of the sinusoidal rays, as will come with those applications. Ready for questions. These we would carry out under the supervision and suggestions of one in SYMPATHY with that as may be applied through these sources. Do that. We are through for the present.
