This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at his office, 115 West 35th Street, Virginia Beach, Va., this 10th day of April, 1929, in accordance with request made by self, Mrs. [5496] - also by her doctor.

Terrace Spring Sanitarium, Time of Reading 2112 Monteiro Avenue, 4:35 P. M. Eastern Standard Time. Richmond, Virginia. (Check Physical Suggestion)

1. EC: Yes - Now we have had these conditions here before, and we find there are improvements with the physical forces of this body - and the changes as are coming about are in better accord than when we had these here before. The body should have the continued manipulations occasionally - not necessary that these be given so often, but these should be given sufficient to bring about the NORMAL distribution of nerve energy as to bring the proper according of the eliminations - which are disturbed in the system. Eliminations in this sense meaning not only those as of drosses for the system in a general manner, but as in the whole of the eliminating systems - as are disturbed through the nerve energy in the system, in the natural changes as come to bodies during these periods.

2. We would add, for the rest to the body, those of the vibrations of the Radio-Active Appliance - for these would materially aid the body in gaining the normal balance through the nerve system, through the blood supply of the body.

3. We would do that.

4. The body may have this condition at home, or in and about the present surroundings, or any change that the body may desire - so these are kept.

5. The regular appliance should be given at least once each day. Preferably would this be in the afternoons when the body would rest, for at least thirty to sixty minutes. Do that. Ready for questions.

6. (Q) How often will be sufficient for the manipulations? (A) Once each week - unless other complications or conditions arise.

7. (Q) Should the body take any special exercise? (A) Exercise in the open as much as the body finds convenient - not to overtax the system, but as much in the open as possible will be beneficial. Sunlight is needed - ozone is needed.

8. That is all the questions.

9. Do that, and we will bring the near normal forces for this body. We are through with this reading.

R1. 5/3/29 Husband’s letter: ”…There seems to be quite a misunderstanding regarding the reading of Mrs. [5496].

“Dr. Bagley called you on the telephone and made an appointment with you for a reading for Mrs. [5496] to be on April 2nd and thought you meant to have this reading to him on April 3rd as Mrs. [5496] was leaving Richmond that day. You did not make the reading until the 10th. Mrs. [5496] was not at the place mentioned in your reading (as she had been in … for a week). I sent this reading to Dr. Bagley (it having been forwarded to her here). Dr. Bagley replied that you did not answer a question that he asked for and did not consider the reading worth anything to him. I do not consider this very satisfactory as she does not profit any by this misunderstanding…”

R2. 5/7/29 EC’s letter: ”…I have yours of the 3rd and note what you have to say regarding reading given for Mrs. [5496] some time ago. When Dr. Bagley called me on the phone, the time was set for the reading - and we were in hopes that we had been of some help, but from your report there seems that there was quite a misunderstanding respecting same. I’m sure that it is always best to have the questions at hand to have them asked when the reading is given, and had this been so in this case, it might have been different. What is Mrs. [5496]‘s condition at present? How is she feeling? We would like very much to be of help if possible. The hospital here is at her service, if she so desires. We would like to know your wishes in the matter, and if we can be of service we want to. Of course we do not want something for nothing. If we can be of service we want to do it. If we cannot be of service, we don’t want to trouble anyone. Let us know your wishes in the matter.”
