This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at his office, 115 West 35th Street, Virginia Beach, Va., this 1st day of March, 1929, in accordance with request made by self, Mrs. [5507], via Mr. [165] and Mr. [3892].

1. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [5507]. With the physical functioning of the body there has again come disturbances that bring distresses through the activity of the eliminations being misdirected in the physical forces of the body. These, as we find, show the variations in the vibrations as created in the system through the changes effected in the digestive and the eliminating system. These, in the varied vibrations as produced, bring disturbances in the system as governing the respiratory, as well as the alimentary canal. These, in the changes as produced, bring about a distribution of used forces in various portions of system, rather than these being eliminated in and through their proper channels. This has affected this body rather in an unusual way and manner, especially so towards the glands of the system - especially that as has to do with the lachrymal and with those of the lesser of the PRODUCING glands in the system (or lyden) [Leydig], and those especially of the system as act with those of the thyroids. This brings, then, disturbances in the various portions of the system, which more or less are of the nature as cause hidden or subdued conditions, and in their activity bring about distresses that have been hard - and are hard - to locate. This as governed, then - with the vibratory forces as are seen in system - shows how the effect comes.

2. First, to meet the needs of these, we would be mindful rather of those conditions as bring about the changes in system through the assimilations of the body. Hence the diet is to play an important part in the first portion of those things that would be administered for this body, [5507], we are speaking of. That is, most of these should be a MIXED diet between the starches and those of the vegetables that carry iron and salts - especially of the vegetable salts, such as in beans, lentils, cabbage, beets, turnips, and such nature - both the top and the root of each of these should be prepared with the vegetable - save in spinach; with the active forces in these in system with those of the JUICES of only wild game, see? These are the foods. Only whole wheat breads, and no greases in the diet that cause irritation.

3. As for the VIBRATIONS as would be changed for the first portion of the diet and of the system’s effectiveness, use that of the Radio-Active Appliance as carries Gold - Chloride of Gold, one grain to ten grains of water would be the proportion proper on the anode as carries the vibration of these metallic forces into the system. One the anode or lead to which the vibration of the Gold is attached, this should be attached to the umbilicus - near the CENTER of same, so that each of the circulating forces of nerve and blood supply both are active from the central and the lateral portions of the body. The anode of the smaller nature shall be attached to the 1st cervical, or as close to the base of the brain as this can be well applied. Preferably this should be held in place with insulation of adhesion as would be adhered to the back of head. This should be active in system, at least beginning with thirty minutes each day, increasing until at least an HOUR and thirty minutes is taken.

4. When this has been given and the diet followed for twenty-eight days - TWENTY-EIGHT DAYS - we would give the changes and that necessary for bringing about the proper resuscitation of the forces as may bring near normal body of [5507]. We are through for the present.

R1. 3/4/29 Letter: ”…I have received my reading and believe it to be a true diagnosis of my trouble. I am writing to ask if I can take the treatment you prescribe at your Hospital and what the cost will be. Do you make a weekly rate or a rate covering the entire treatment?…”

R3. 4/2/29 Letter: ”…In a measure I have followed your suggestions as to my diet - eating only vegetables, no meat, only chicken and fish. I have felt greatly improved. Of course, the diagnosis was so technical that I don’t understand any of it. If it is your custom to explain any of your readings, I’d appreciate anything you might write me.

“I am still considering going to the Cayce Hospital for treatment when Mrs. [3892] returns from Europe (you gave her a reading) and we thought of going down together. Does the rate include diet and treatment or is that extra?…”

R4. 4/5/29 EC’s letter: ”…Replying to yours of recent date, I am glad to note that you feel somewhat improved with even following the suggestions as to diet.

“It is a very hard thing to try to explain other than just the suggestions for the treatment, and even that is hard to explain in a letter. To facilitate conditions, and to insure the individual getting the proper results, the Institution was built. So, I am sure it will be a great deal better and more satisfactory for you to come to the Institution as soon as it is convenient for you to do so - whether you wait for Mrs. [3892]‘s return or come on at an earlier date; for the rates are not exorbitant. We are preparing a booklet that will give you some idea of the place…” [He went into detail about rates, etc.]
