This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at his office, 115 West 35th Street, Virginia Beach, Va., this 28th day of June, 1930, in accordance with request made by self - Mrs. [5538].

Time of Reading 3:50 P. M. Eastern Standard Time. Baltimore, Maryland. (Physical Suggestion)

1. EC: Yes, we have the conditions and the body here, Mrs. [5538]. Now, we find the conditions, while their reactions at the present are more mental than apparently otherwise, this condition - as WE find - mostly the fault of one that attended the body in childbirth, and the conditions as were left at the time.

2. In applying that for the physical benefit of the body, and for the mental conditions, we would find that - were there applied for a few days, that of Chloride of Gold with that of Bromide of Soda; 10 grains Bromide of Soda to 4 ounces distilled water, 10 grains Chloride of Gold to 10 ounces distilled water. Give the dose about 3 times each day, early of morning, in the afternoon, and at night; 3 drops of each in half glass of water, see?

3. Then, when this - in the course of 5 to 10 days - has set up the changes as will come through the functioning of change in system, we would then make those alterations through the pelvic organs, through the manipulations osteopathically applied - that will RELIEVE this pressure and gradually allow the mental forces to rebuild in the system. Keep the medicinal properties when the treatments begin, but NOT so often.

4. Keep the eliminations open by the giving of oil, and of those conditions that will keep the acid low in system.

5. We would find there would come bettered conditions for the body. While these pressures cause distress, hallucinations, and disorders throughout; yet, will the body-mental - as it is being treated osteopathically - be given that suggestion as to that which will be builded in the system, the body-physical and mental may be able to hold of self and build up. Do that. Ready for questions. We are through with this reading.

R1. 8/10/30 Letter in answer to Cayce Hospital Questionnaire: ”…Dear friends - oh dear you are still interested in my case. No, I am not better. No, I never will be. Oh God, why can’t I at least die in my sleep? Why can’t I be relieved of my suffering? Have I committed such terrible crimes to be punished like this? I can’t follow those directions. I can’t drink any oils because it makes me sick. I have continual spells of diarrhea and continual mucus flowing all the time. My pain through my right side and bladder is most unbearable, always so terribly inflammed, continual pressure of the bladder and burning pains through my head. Oh please, dear friend, let Dr. Cayce pray for me to have an easy death. I can’t stand it any more…”

R2. 8/18/30 Letter from Cayce Hospital urged her to get the treatments carried out as suggested in the reading and that she then write to Mr. Cayce for a check reading.

B1. 4/10/30 Letter: ”…This morning as usual I looked over the Morning paper [Baltimore Sun] and I have discovered, as it seems to me, a miracle of a cure. Dear Sir, I have been looking for a miracle for myself as there does not seem to be any doctor to be able to diagnose my case and help me. It seems much too late but this write-up about the Dr. Cayce and you [Morton H. Blumenthal] gave me some hope again. Help me, dear friend, if there is only a possibility. I am a woman 36 years old and have been married 17 years; have two boys, one 16 and the other 14, a good man who has been working for the doctors all these years and I am getting worse all the time. I am in a very nervous condition now; I am afraid that I will yet be placed in an insane asylum. I still have a few hundred dollars for fee for the doctors. My health does not allow me to travel. Is it possible to be helped. Can such miracles happen? Has God doomed me to a life of such terrible misery? Pray, Help me, dear sir. May I hope for something in this world yet?…”

B2. 4/23/30 EC’s letter: ”…I have yours of recent date, also yours addressed to Mr. Blumenthal. I am sending data respecting work of the Association, the information necessary to become a member of the Association, which entitles you to the privileges of same - including information through these sources.

“As I am sure you will gather from this data, it is not possible for us to tell you how much good we may be able to do - until we have had the information. I do not imply from this that we are attempting to induce you to become a member in order that we may have the little entrance fee - for we are just as willing to try and be of help to those who are not able to contribute even the membership fee, as we are to try to help those who contribute hundreds and thousands. It is to be of service that the Association was organized. It is necessary that an individual be able to have that something within self that will find an answer in the information, or - if you choose to put it that way - it is necessary for one to have faith in the Divine that is within self, and not in us, but in self’s ability to contact the divine from within.
