This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at the home of David E. Kahn, 20 Woods Lane, Scarsdale, N.Y., this 9th day of November, 1936, in accordance with request made by the self - Mrs. [557], Active Member of the Ass”n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc.

1. EC: Yes. As we find, conditions are not so well as when we last had same here.

2. Those tendencies for the accumulations in the liver, the gall duct area, the portions themselves of the stomach and the activities in this portion of the system are not so satisfactory even as when last we had same.

3. Those determinations as have been reached by the body, as to having the analysis through the activities of other outside influences, should be - as we find - carried on.

4. Insist, however, that there be NOT operative measures unless these come as a last resort. For the conditions as we find them will require that there be a great many changes wrought in the abilities of the activative forces in the blood stream for the ability to keep the active forces in the deeper organs and in the circulation and in creating proper coagulation. For these are in such a condition, these would be rather severe and extreme upon the physical body in the present.

5. But we would carry on in that which has been reached as the proper way and manner.

7. (Q) Any spiritual advice? (A) Know within self that life as it manifests in every atom of thy physical body is an expression of, an impelling of, that influence and force called Spirit and God. While much of these have grown weary, hold FAST to Him for a USEFUL expression in this experience!

R1. 5/20/37 EC’s letter to her friend, Mrs. [489]: “Do you know anything about the results of Mrs. [557]‘s visit to Rochester last fall? We haven’t heard from her since. I sent you a copy of a short Ck. Rdg. we had for her just before she left. I do hope she has gotten some relief.”

R2. 6/2/37 HLC’s letter to Mrs. [557] after talking with her in N.Y.C.:

Dear Mrs. [557]:

“Your readings are before me. I have gone over them carefully.

Your last reading under date of November 9th, 1936, contained little information other than suggestions regarding the analysis you had decided to secure at Rochester. The point of view of the reading seemed to be that further suggestions at that time would only prove confusing.

In your reading of October 15th, 1935, there were some definite suggestions regarding the Wet Cell Appliance and an occasional massage. Briefly the principle of this appliance is as follows.

The Wet Cell Appliance is made up on the order of the old galvanic electric battery. It generates a very low current, a current so low that you cannot feel it when the anodes from the appliance are attached to the body. This current is passed through some type of solution - in your case Camphor

• and picks up certain vibrations from this solution which are conveyed into the body at certain centers as described in your reading. This very low current stimulates the glands and nerves producing eliminations of poisons and general healing effect. You will note that the suggestions indicated the placing of the anodes from the appliance over the areas causing you difficulty.

The sweat and massage recommended were suggested to remove poisons that were aroused by the appliance and relax the body generally.

As you can well understand, Mrs. [557], suggestions given in the readings should be followed carefully and completely. There is no reason to believe that you can not obtain the same beneficial results that many others have secured through this information. I know how hard it has been for you to follow these readings through and I do hope that it will now be possible.

Since it has been some time since you checked up on your condition through the readings I would suggest a complete reading now to outline in detail the proper treatments. If I were you I would then arrange to follow the suggestions through completely. The time and energy given to this now will save you time, pain and expense later.

Should the Wet Cell Appliance be recommended again you will not find it difficult to take. It will only be necessary for you to arrange to have it placed in a stationary position where it will not be necessary to move it. The matter of making the attachment of the anodes for twenty minutes during the day might be scheduled in the morning before you get up, just before retiring or regularly during an afternoon rest period. The appliance produces no sensation and is perfectly harmless so far as any possible shock is concerned. It is possible that your condition in the present will not require an appliance.

However, before getting the reading make up your mind to follow it carefully to the best of your ability. You will get the results.

It was certainly nice to talk with you again in New York. My father joins me in hoping that we may be of further service to you.

Please advise me of any questions you may have on any of your readings. I will be glad to write you in detail about them.

In going through your readings, Mrs. [557], I was impressed with the constant reference to the spiritual ideal which is your motivative force. As the readings indicate you owe it to yourself and those you contact to renew the physical energies - though at times it is a hard job - in order that you may give a better and better expression of the inner strength and power of your nature.

Dear Mr. Cayce:

“I was glad to receive your note here about the Health Home Remedies for which I enclose my check and also for the Annual Membership of $12.

I would also like to have another reading, but would like to wait until after September 22nd when I hope to be at least partly settled at home, and will have gotten the boys off to their schools.

I was much interested in your letter of June 2nd. The massage was certainly followed with benefit, but the Wet Cell Appliance seemed most difficult. To obtain the appliance seemed hard let alone to apply it electrically is frightening and I would have to SEE the thing in action. Are you and your father coming north this fall? If so, will you let me know the time in advance?

I was much interested in the last paragraph of your letter in reference to the spiritual ideal being a motivative force. I would like to develop in that line and be a helpful influence to those around me. But I realize one must know how to help themselves and the necessities to renew my physical energies seem so important, for my exhausted state has certainly stood in my way of much accomplishment and at times I feel there must be some definite reason for it. I was sorry I could not attend the Sixth Annual Congress on June 28th but that was a busy time for me at home.

Did you write an article called ‘Looking Forward’ [See 8/37 Bulletin in re sponsoring research readings] and have you a copy?

I will hope to see you when you come north and will be interested in anything you care to send me to read.

“P.S. I read the data about the Life Readings. I would love to have your father give the boys a life reading. Do you think it would be better to have them there at the time? When you come north they might get out of school on a week end. If you could help them interpret afterwards, it would be good.

1. In your opinion did the analysis of the Reading cover the condition. Yes.

2. Give symptoms of condition described correctly? Gall bladder and digestional tract.

3. What was the physican’s analysis of this condition? Inflamed gall bladder; spastic digestional track especially intestinal.

4. Have the suggestions given in the reading been followed exactly as outlined? Yes, at first, but as I seemed to get no result I only kept it up a couple of months.

5. For how long? [No response]

6. Describe the extent to which improvements have resulted? None but at times life is more tranquil and I am careful of diet. I get along pretty well.
