This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at his office, 105th Street & Ocean, Virginia Beach, Va., this 15th day of September, 1931, in accordance with request made by self, through Dr. Elisha T. Kirk.

1. EC: Yes, we have the body, [5570], and those conditions as surround same. These we have had before. As far as the applications as were outlined have been kept in accord with that given, so far have been the changes and the betterments for the physical conditions of the body.

2. In the relationships to those disorders as disturbed the body, in the present we find that in the activities of the system as related to the heart’s action and the digestive system - as comes from the aorta connection between those of the central nerve forces in system and the active forces in the system themselves - these are more of a reflex nature, from those irritations as are produced in the glands - in the mammary system or gland - and in those regions of the upper or right clavicle. These, as we find, would respond the more SUDDEN with the use of the ash, WITH the ultra violet ray applied in those plexus and regions from which BOTH of these centers have their distributing forces in the cerebro-spinal system. The dosage as would be taken of the animated ash would be an eighth grain twice each day, while the light would be given only twice each week. On the days that the ash is given when the light is to be applied, a quarter grain would be taken an hour to two hours BEFORE the treatment WITH the light.

3. Then, keep the rest of the applications as HAS been outlined, in the manner as HAS been indicated, in a consistent and persistent manner, would there be brought the nearer or more perfect normal conditions for the body.

4. With the activities that will come in the system from the use of those properties given, we would find the pain would be eased - that is, if those of the precautions that are consistent with the conditions and that attempting to be accomplished in the system. Ready for questions.

5. (Q) What is the condition above the right clavicle? (A) This is a specific condition from the irritation in gland.

6. (Q) What has the aorta to do with the condition at the left of the umbilicus? (A) Sympathetic condition as produced from that of the nerves’ reaction to those irritations in the system.

7. (Q) Are there any indications of malignancy? (A) Not as yet. These, were they to take hold - or become more centralized, might become. Treat as has been outlined, and we will find - with the persistency, or CONSISTENCY, the RESPONSES will be!

8. (Q) When can I expect a perfect restoration of my health? (A) When those suggestions as given have been completed, with a consistent and persistent manner, for a period that will allow the resuscitating forces to accomplish in the system that necessary to bring near normalcy for the body.

R1. 9/28/31 Letter: ”…Your letter, and the rdg., came ten days ago, and I wrote to Mr. Bradley for the ash, and have waited to hear from him, before writing you.

“The capsules have just arrived, in the morning’s mail.

“You say that the dosage is two a day, but you do not say what time, and as there are thirteen of the capsules, these would be gone in a week. Am I to continue on with them, if so, how long?

“You remember, in the first reading, you gave me a prescription to be taken, and I am wondering if these are compatible, and can they be taken together - not, of course, at the same time.

“Dr. Kirk has given me a few treatments, from time to time, in the past 2 yrs., but since Christmas I have been under the care of a Dr. who is Doctor and Surgeon, but she uses the Spectro-Chrome Therapy originated by Col. Dinghak Ghadiali. I wonder if you have ever heard of him, or his work.

“I have been in the hands of Doctors for 7 yrs., and have had 2 major operations, but it took this woman to find out that I had an aneurysm of the aorta in the abdomen, and as I have suffered so keenly Dr. Kirk suggested I write you.

“I have been most interested in your rdgs., and would have asked my questions in the first one, but Dr. Kirk suggested that I not - just why I do not know.

“I should very much like to have a life rdg., but simply can not afford it, at this time. When you reply to my questions will you kindly let me know what the charges for a life rdg. would be?

“Thanking you for your kindness in this matter, and which I greatly appreciate, I am…”

R2. 9/30/31 EC’s letter to Mrs. [5570]: “I was very glad to have yours of the 28th. No, I do not think the ash will interfere with any of the other properties given you to take. If you ordered the quarter grain capsules, one of these would make a DAY’S dose - rather than taking up two capsules a day. The proper way would be to take the ash 2 or 3 weeks, then to rest from it for about a week and then begin again - if you feel it necessary. Our experience with this has been that it has given more vitality and resistance in the system than most anything else could, and it supplies it by the system’s taking on more oxygen through the activities of the ash itself in the system. As to the time the dosage would be taken, I’m sure you would find it better to take one dose about 9 or 10 o’clock in the morning, and the other about 3 or 4 in the afternoon - for that is the time when our vitality is the weakest in our waking state, or when we have need of aid for our vitality. I’m sure you will find the ash compatible with the prescription given.

“Yes, I have heard a great deal of the Spectro-Chrome Therapy, as this is used by a very prominent man in our vicinity [Dr. Carl Frischkorn (?) M.D., N.D., D.C.] who has a very large following.

“I certainly hope that you will receive the benefits you are seeking through these channels. From the time you have spent with doctors, I’m sure you have grown to be very dubious about many things you have been told by them. I wish it were possible for you to spend a while at Va. Beach, where you might be in closer touch with the work itself and know something of the results that have been obtained by others in the application of the information given.

“The life readings are $25.00. If you ever decide to have one, I hope you can be present at the time - for I am sure, from our past experience, it would be worth a great deal more to you. Many people consider the life rdgs. the most VALUABLE information for individuals in understanding themselves, and just WHY they are having to go through so many trials or adverse circumstances. To many this is helpful, just to know WHY - but in others it rather makes for rebellion, which of course isn’t good. You know yourself as to how it would affect you, but I believe it would be helpful.

“Thanking you for your ltr., and assuring you we would be glad to hear from you from time to time, I am - with all good wishes… P.S. Empty the ash OUT of the capsule into water when it is taken.”

R3. 10/12/31 Letter: ”…Your ltr. of Sept. 30th was greatly appreciated, and I immediately sent to Mr. Bradley for more ash. Was to have it on hand, but before I finished the first bottle, I had to stop them - however, I cut the dose down to half before stopping.

“You suggested I get the eighth grain capsules.

“The reason I was compelled to stop was they made me perspire. It did so each time, soon after I would take them. This I did not mind, but I became depressed, and could not seem to sleep.

“My sleep is a thing I must have but I could not seem to relax.

“I am taking Rorer’s Neuro Bromides. It is Valerian and three Bromides - Strontium, Sodium, and ammonia. It helps more than the one you gave but I stopped, and took the one you gave at times.

“Could you tell me what the reaction should be. I am a most peculiar case as doctors have always been provoked at me because I would not TAKE MEDICINE. They did not stop to realize it was my loss because I would not take them.

“Too, it is so with some foods, eating, and it all reacts on my nervous system - my depression is great enough, so I do not want to add to it - but perhaps I did not take it just right - but I took it with all the faith in the world, hoping I was going to have relief from this intense suffering through my mouth and head.

“When I am able I will come to Virginia for a life reading. I do so want to know what to do to make my life, and others around me, what it should be. To do so we must know our faults and short comings.

“Thanking you for any information you can give me on the subject of the ash…”

R4. 10/19/31 EC’s ltr. to Mrs. [5570]: “I have yours of the 12th, and I am always glad to hear from you and to try to be of help in any way I can.

“Yes, we quite often find individuals who do not react to prescriptions as the book says they should. This has usually been the type and class of patients where our information has been able to help the most; for seemingly it takes the individuals where they are, and not where any rule or rote has said they SHOULD BE from the reactions shown in their systems. I think you have done exactly right in making these changes from time to time. Have you been taking the ash properly? While it comes to you in the capsule, it is not to be taken in the capsule. It should be emptied from the capsule onto your tongue and washed down with half a glass of water, or it may be stirred into the water first. Taking it confined in a container creates results such as you describe. The activation of the ash on the body releases atomic oxygen in the system. Hence is the greater purifier for the blood, as well as a stimuli to the nerve system. Of course, these work together. Hence, as you may see, if this was taken - as it were - in a LUMP in the system, the first reaction would be to the RESPIRATORY system. So, I think you would find it better to pour this into a glass of water, or on the tongue

• as suggested. When there is the application of the ultra-violet ray, this ACCENTUATES the activity of oxygen released within the system. Hence is an aid to any character of disturbance that may be in the lymph or emunctory circulation, or to any PORTIONS of the muco-membranes of the organs themselves; for it relieves pressure from them, to be sure, by clarifying the blood pressure going through them. This should be the activity, and is supposed to be the activity, of the ash. Let me know just the manner in which you have been taking the ash, when you take it, that we may record this as another one of the actions of it on the physical body.

We are anxious to see you get results, and when you have the chance I hope you will come down to see us personally, that you may know more about the results obtained by others, and more about the phenomena itself.
