This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at his office, 105th Street and Ocean, Virginia Beach, Va., this 28th day of November, 1931, in accordance with request made by the father, Mr. […], through the Association for Research & Enlightenment, Inc., recommended by Mrs. K. S. Graham.

1. EC: Yes, we have the body and those conditions as surround same here, [5581]. Much might be given as respecting the advent of this entity into the material plane in the present, that to some would confuse some questions that have been asked concerning the body and the soul, their various periods of advent; to others this would be clarifying.

2. In the physical conditions of the body, we find there are improvements going about in the manner in which the physical locomotions of the body are beginning to coordinate. As to the mental and the physical coordinations, these also are on the improve from the physical standpoint. The mental and the spiritual developments of the body, and those about same, are going on in their OWN channel for expansion, for evolution, for development for all associated or concerned with same. While the mental abilities of the body are well, the ability for the coordination - or for their material expression and manifestations in and through the material body - is hindered, in the lack of proper coordination between the sympathetic and the cerebro-spinal nerve system.

3. With those things that have been applied in the way of supplication, prayer, pleadings, will there be added materially as these - of evenings, just before retiring, with and during the periods of meditation and supplication - we would bring about greater improvements from day to day:

4. We would mechanically apply, along the whole of the cerebro-spinal system, those properties of olive oil and tincture of myrrh - equal parts. Heat the oil and add the myrrh. Not only massage this into the cerebro-spinal centers, but along each SIDE of the spine, so that there may be the connections with those vibrations as are set up from the vibrations of the properties as applied in the sympathetic system, as well as in those of the cerebro-spinal system. Be sure these are done well. Take from eight to fifteen minutes of thorough massaging, using at each time about a tablespoonful of each ingredient; rubbing thoroughly in from the END of the spine to the base of the brain, then from the base of the brain to the END of the spine. Rub this in so well that practically all of the product disappears, or is absorbed by the body.

5. At least twice each week, of MORNINGS, we would apply over the same area - for three to five minutes - those vibrations from the plain violet ray. This should be before the body is aroused, or arises from the evening or night’s rest - see? Then rest from five to fifteen minutes AFTER this has been applied (that is, the violet ray). Put the anode directly to the skin. This should be massaged, or applied, from the solar plexus center down, then from the solar plexus center up; each side of the cerebro-spinal system, and especially following OUT same from the brachial center to arms, and from the lumbar center to the lower portion of the limbs. Let this be done on the UNDER side of arm, the UNDER side of the lower limbs or legs, FOLLOWING closely those nerves that go directly from the brachial nerves to the elbow, wrist and fingers; those along the sciatic, or ACCOMPANYING nerve along the lower limbs, to the knees, to the feet.

6. These, as we find, should be kept consistently and persistently, KEEPING ever those thoughts that those forces as are in nature, that partake of life itself in its elemental forms as are manifest in a material world, are being applied, with that same faith, hope and confidence that there will be added, day by day, such improvements as are necessary to bring about a normal physical condition in this body of [5581]. Ready for questions.

R2. 11/28/31 EC’s letter to [5581]‘s father: ”…We are sending to you herewith the information obtained for your boy. I am sure that Mrs. Graham will assist you in getting the proper understanding of the material applications to be made. These, as I understand, you will be able to apply yourself and in applying them with that love and affection that can only come through a parent’s hands, should bring to the boy those corrections to a near normal condition. From my little conversation with you, I am sure you WILL apply these treatments with that same prayerful, faithful patience as you have shown through the years. Know that all healing must be from the source of ALL power. These material applications are only that the material things of the body may be in accord or attuned with the divine as made manifest themselves.
