This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at his office, 115 West 35th Street, Virginia Beach, Va., this 16th day of December, 1929, in accordance with request made by mother and those in charge.

[Edgar Cayce; Mrs. Cayce, Conductor; Gladys Davis, Steno. Mrs. Goldburg, Drs. Berger, Hansen and Parker, Mrs. Hopp, Mrs. Ringle, Mrs. [267], and L. B. Cayce.]

Time of Reading 11:40 A. M. Eastern Standard Time. …, Va. (Physical Suggestion)

  1. EC: Yes, we have the body here. Now, the conditions are very good in many respects for this body. Much improvement is seen in the general activities.

  2. As for that as will assimilate, or is the diet as is necessary for the proper assimilation now for the system, it will be found necessary to change or alter these from time to time, changing - where the malted milk may not be used - to that of the dried, or that of the Eagle, or that of any of those that may be ASSIMILATED by the system. Prune whip would be very good to come in at times, as will be any of those that are activities as laxatives for the system, adding to it those forces as may come in blood building also. As much of those forces as may be ASSIMILATED by the system may be given in that of the thyroid - THIS in small quantities - and be sure that it DOES not show in the stool. Watch that! When it does, reduce the quantity! See? Ready for questions.

  3. (Q) How often should violet ray treatment be given? (A) Every second or third day. Dependent upon the reactions in the system - and as much of the DISTENSION as is seen in the system responds to this.

  4. (Q) What treatment for the cold? (A) Cracker and soda would be best.

  5. (Q) In what quantity, how often? (A) Teaspoonful of cracker crumbs with plain Bicarbonate of Soda. BEST baking soda than the plain Bicarbonate, in this particular case, for it carries a portion of the tartar that is effective in the condition. This would be given once each day. Three doses will be all that will be necessary - tea- spoonful, with about ten grains of the soda.

  6. (Q) Until cause of constipation can be corrected, what laxative should be given? (A) If the food values are used correctly, should NOT be used ANY laxative. If a laxative GIVEN, that of the Phenolax, in this condition, would be very good. But with the prune whip, also with those that will come with the activities of those properties as given from the thyroid solutions, these - these should eliminate, and the proper manipulation will reduce the distension, and - as was first given - the oil enemas may be used occasionally, see?

  7. (Q) What dosage of the thyroid? (A) This has just been GIVEN - that it should commence in small doses, and watch it! Use SOME common sense with it! Don’t you know anything? The age is to be considered, the condition is to be considered, and these are to be tested. When there is shown that there is ANY of the curd that is produced by same passing through system, REDUCE the DOSE - see? Two to three grains would be the beginning, or in the drops would be from three to four.

  8. That is all the questions.
