EC: Yes, we have the body here, Mrs. [5608]. Now we find there are disturbing conditions with the physical forces of this body. These conditions, though, taken in time and the proper application of those conditions and properties necessary to correct the cause of the disturbing forces, may be brought back to the near normal forces for the body.
-
These, then, are conditions as we find them with this body, Mrs. [5608], we are speaking of, present in this room. First:
-
IN THE BLOOD SUPPLY, this we find shows the condition as is existent in many portions of the system. While this condition in the blood stream is not the cause at PRESENT of the disturbance, the allowing of the condition to REMAIN - this will PRODUCE other disturbing elements of which the blood supply would be the cause. We find the blood, then, low in its resistance, or in its ability to supply that necessary for the full replenishing of the conditions as are disturbant in the system. The condition, then, of an impoverished blood supply, is a result of other conditions as we will find existent in the functioning of organs.
-
IN THE NERVE SYSTEM, here we find some of the causes of existent conditions in the disturbance as is brought about, for there are impingements of the nature that the incentives from nerve ganglions do not allow portions of the system to receive the full amount of nerve impulse, and hence of the blood supply and of the functioning incentive, as it should. This, then, among the first causes of the condition. This, as seen, causing much of the heaviness as is felt, especially across the lower portion of the back, at times between the shoulders, and the trembly sensation as if the body were a twofold, or a sensation of being under the effect of conditions not understood. This the action of the lumbar reflexes with the sympathetic nerve system. The lumbar disturbance being in the ganglia of the 4th and 5th lumbars, and the upper sacral.
-
IN THE FUNCTIONING OF THE ORGANS THEMSELVES, the brain forces very good.
-
The reflexes from the sympathetic to the sensory system and organs of the sensory system show their reflexes, as is seen especially in the condition at times as exists with throat, at other times as with eyes. These are only passing conditions, yet are sign boards - as it were - of conditions existent.
-
Bronchials, throat, lungs, larynx, very good - save as reflexes.
-
Heart’s action at times shows condition of the blood supply and the effect of those conditions as exist with the eliminating system, especially of the liver and kidneys - as are reflexed from that condition existent in the lumbar and sacral region. Also reflex from the 4th and 5th cervical, 6th and 7th dorsal. These reflex conditions, as to the stomach and to the liver.
-
In the functioning of digestive system, here we have again a reflex of conditions shown in the disturbance of the functioning of organ itself, from that as produced from lower in the system. Here we have a heaviness at times, at times that which will digest at other times seems to be as heavy with the digestive system. The liver inactive, in the sense of being excretory in its function. Secreting, to be sure, but not PROPERLY. Neither is the lower portion of hepatic circulation that is, with the liver in its lower action, nor the kidneys balanced in their function. Hence at times we have an over-activity of the kidneys, at others rather the suppressed activity. The incoordinating, then, of the liver, the hepatic circulation, and the condition produced FROM SAME THROUGHOUT the alimentary canal is a CAUSE of the condition as produced from conditions existent in the lumbar and sacral region. Hence reflexes from the pelvic organs, as at times in their disturbance. This purely reflex, and when the organs of the digestive system are brought back to their near normal functioning, with the proper incentives from the lumbar, sacral and cervical region, WITH the aiding of conditions as are brought into action from centers in the DORSAL region, we will find the organs of the pelvis, of the WHOLE SYSTEM, coming back nearer to a normal condition, and the body will be near normal.
-
These conditions in the lower portion of the body cause that heaviness to the lower extremities, affecting DIRECTLY those of the ganglia that govern the lower portion, or the activity of the locomotaries - and THESE are reflexes.
-
Now to meet the needs of the conditions as we find in this body, Mrs. [5608], we are speaking of, we would first through the proper manipulations, osteopathically - then when the body is relaxed properly, after three to five such treatments, CORRECT the cervicals, the lumbar, the sacral, in their status quota to each other, and we will find these will assist in bringing about corrections. After the fifth or sixth TREATMENT, corrections may be made - not before, but first applying heat before corrections would be made, and this should be WET heat for THIS body.
-
Then we would begin with those properties medicinally that will aid the digestive system, the hepatic circulation, in gaining its normal equilibrium. This, as we will find, will be through small doses of this compound. These given sufficiently far enough apart to act WITH the incentives given to the nerve system to function with the hepatic circulation and digestion. Hence should be three to five days apart in the doses taken. This in each dose:
Cascara Sagrada…1/2 grain, Licorice Compound…1/2 grain, Senna…1/4 grain, Podophyllum…1/4 grain, Dovers Powders…1/2 grain.
Preferably, this should be given in capsule.
-
We would also be mindful of the diet, from the beginning of the manipulations osteopathically and through the correcting of the condition. Hence the diet should be those of the saline-PRODUCING, protein given in SMALL quantities, little of the starches. These we will find will aid materially in the blood building, see? Do that. Ready for questions.
-
(Q) What is the condition of the heart, and what causes same? (A) This produced, as given, from this overtaxation to the hepatic circulation, and is of the reflex nature. Not an ORGANIC condition, but a reflex condition. A correcting OF the other portions of system will bring about normal forces in the functioning of this organ.
-
(Q) What would be a specific diet for this body? (A) This should be followed along lines as has been given. First begin with these manipulations for the correction of the condition in the lumbar, sacral and cervical, as also from those of the dorsals, as given, which DIRECTLY function with the cardiac forces of the system. This, then, will be SECONDARY to the condition necessary to be corrected to bring about those forces in system. As for the diet SPECIFIC, these should be followed according to the manipulations or corrections given, see? but following with salines, which is of the heart building forces in its activity. The condition of the blood supply has as much or more to do with the heart’s action - from the impoverished condition and inability to furnish to system that sufficient for the rebuilding, see? When conditions are built about properly, we will find these will be corrected EASILY. Do that. We are through for the present.
