EC: Yes, we have the body here, we have had it before, you see. Now the conditions in this body we do not find as good as they were when we had it before. We find there has been more progress by organic conditions that exist in the stomach and duodenum, more laceration has been made, more inroads toward the the condition through the duodenum; the whole system has broken down more than when we had it last. It will be hard to keep this body here.

The effect of the sedative that has been given to this body is breaking up now, its effect does not allay the nerve forces, they have gone to pieces.

To give this system, with what is being taken, will allay pain to a certain extent -

Small quantities of Bismuth mixed with a great deal of Elm water with a bit of Yellow Saffron mixed with the same will allay the condition and release much of the suffering. Also Arrow Root water with Junket should be given as a stimulant with very small quantities of Burnt Whiskey.

To do this, we will find that we will give relief to this body of its suffering, and of course with the Narcotics that are being used.

Do this as we have given for the relief of the body in the physical portions. At present [5618] is made up of spiritual forces which are ready to leave.

R1. 10/3/22 Dr. [5618]‘s affidavit: “This is to certify that I have known Mr. Edgar Cayce for about fifteen years and know him to be an honest, honorable gentleman, and know that he does this work, but how I don’t know. In other words, I don’t know what I do know about him.”
R2. 9/4/24 EC’s letter to Mr. [779]: “Dr. [5618] has been getting on very nicely since his last spell. Mrs. [760] said the doctor went to work along the lines indicated and they began to see improvements right away. The doctor said ‘There must be something in these readings after all.’”
R3. 1/3/25 EC gave the third reading, 5618-3. Dr. [5618] recovered from the serious stomach condition but in taking so many drugs to relieve suffering he became addicted to the morphine habit. His wife [760] requested the third reading - see 5618-3.
