GC: You will give the physical condition of this body at the present time, with suggestions for the further improvement of same, and you will answer any questions I may ask you regarding this body.
-
EC: Now, we find there are many changes in the physical conditions of this body since we had it here before. Most of these are showing the bettered conditions, the bettered assimilation, the bettered physical resistance. There are still those strains on the nerve system, especially to the locomotary centers, that show how that the resistances as are being created lack in their ability, as it were, to push through. This being a greater portion of the retraction in the sympathetic nerve system. Hence the centers and the ends of the nerves that show the retraction and reaction, through the centers connecting with the cerebro-spinal and the sympathetic, show the greater distresses - as is seen under the knees, in the thighs, small of the back, across the arms. These come, as we see, from the 12th dorsal center, the 4th lumbar center, from the brachial center, which, with their ends to arms, to extremities, show how that these, as it were, pushing through - that is, the mental forces being of the nature where retraction, through action of the sympathetic system, in desire, in physical forces, in physical suppliance to the body, still bring their action to these centers.
-
To overcome these, as has been given, keep as much in the open as possible. Occupy the mental forces with introspection, and with ideal building of the physical, the mental, and the material conditions for the body. This, with the sand, the salt, the sea, the woods, with nutritious foods, builds in the body that that will attain to the ideals the body builds for itself. Do that. Ready for questions.
-
GC: No questions.
-
We are through for the present.

R1. 5/6/26 EC’s letter to Dr. [5618]:
Dear Dr. [5618]:
As I told you this morning I would write you soon as I found out something about the reciprocity, I went down to the Beach and talked to a young man - physician who came here a few months ago from Ohio. He said he just registered with the State Board - says there is a lot of red tape but that you only have to go before the Board, present your credentials from the other State Board, and any other papers that you may have from the Profession, pay fifty or a hundred dollars, and at their next meeting they pass on same. I believe, as he says, it is more a matter of red tape than anything else. You meet the official of the Board in Norfolk and he will give you a certificate until it is presented to the State Board, which meets twice a year.
Now, in talking to the osteopath, they register under the same way, though they have no osteopath Board in Virginia. The osteopath has to take the same medical examination, so, as you can see how such things would work, you can register as the M.D. and osteopath, or, as I suggested this morning, when you come down and you are feeling stronger and better, why we can take the matter up and see just what is necessary. There is reciprocity though between Virginia and Kentucky, and Virginia and Tennessee, so you shouldn’t have any trouble at all; unless it is with you like it would be with me - finding the hundred dollars. But I’m sure we can get all that fixed up, while you are getting good and strong. You’ll just want to get a copy of your registration with both states, and then letters from as many of the prominent physicians as you can.
Let us hear from you right away. With love from all,
As ever, Edgar Cayce
