This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at his office, 115 West 35th Street, Virginia Beach, Va., this 4th day of June, 1929, in accordance with request made by self - Mr. [5620].

[Edgar Cayce; Mrs. Cayce, Conductor; Gladys Davis, Steno. Mr. [5620] and wife and young daughter, Mr. L. B. Cayce and Mr. Linden Shroyer.]

Time of Reading 3:20 P. M. Eastern Standard Time. …, Virginia. (Physical Suggestion)

  1. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [5620]. Now, we find there are those conditions of which the body should take cognizance of, and warning, that they, the conditions, be corrected, that there may not be more destructive results in the physical body; for the body should well remember, it cannot ALWAYS be young and strong!

  2. There are those conditions that have to do with specific effects as are produced, as WELL as those that take or prevent the replenishing and the system storing energy in the physical forces of the body.

  3. These, then, are conditions as we find them with this body, [5620], we are speaking of, present in this room. First:

  4. IN THE BLOOD SUPPLY, this near normal in its pressure, as well as in its circulation, except at times. There being conditions existent in the digestive system, and especially in the liver, that produces those conditions wherein that strangulation is effected in and about the gall bladder, this, as we shall see from conditions existent in the physical forces, producing an effect upon the functioning of the organ itself. This the system attempting to relieve, brings about spasmodic reactions in this region; but corrections should be made, that the system may ELIMINATE properly, for with an UNBALANCED elimination, and with other existent conditions, these aid in bringing the forces in the body that are not good for same.

  5. IN THE NERVE SYSTEM, this we do not find lacking in ability to function, but is mis-directed through several channels. Especially is this true in the 3rd and 4th dorsal, and in the lumbar region - 3rd and 4th dorsal, and in the lumbar region - 3rd and 4th dorsal, 1st and 2nd lumbar; also the reflexes of same in the 3rd and 4th cervical centers. In the repressions as are produced there, this brings to the system especially as that condition existent in the liver and digestive system, those impulses that do not supply from the assimilated forces of the body sufficient of the elements to create or carry on digestion in its proper way and manner. Hence that condition existent in the blood supply, and there are OFTEN periods when the body labors, works, under stress of temperature in the body. This temperature comes from the condition existent in the liver, or created by the condition IN LIVER in the blood supply.

  6. In the nerve ENERGY, this the SEAT of the trouble. In the subluxations existent in this upper dorsal region, and reflexly aided through that of the lumbar condition, which, when the system not functioning normal digestion attempts to take place in the jejunum and in the lower portion of the intestines. Hence the cramps and the depressions as are felt at times in the region of the lower portion of the diaphragm.

  7. IN THE ORGANS OF THE BODY, head and brain forces very good. Reflexes from the sensory organism ACUTE for the condition existent.

  8. Throat, bronchials, lungs and larynx - here again we find the effects of mis-directed energy through the activity of repressions created in the SYMPATHETICS from those of the cardiac plexus and of the false or upper cardiac plexus. This gives that repression to such an extent the body at times easily contracts cold or congestion, and the effects of the “flu” are still apparent in bronchials and in lungs, though not an organic condition, as is seen from that that PRODUCES same in the body.

  9. In the heart’s action, pulsations above normal. Pressure near normal. The heart itself normal in both gurgitation and regurgitation.

  10. In the digestive system, these conditions as we have given exist there.

  11. In the action of the spleen, the brain forces or resultant forces of an active brain assist the body materially, especially as to WILL and power of control over self.

  12. In the functioning of the liver itself: These conditions as have been given are apparent in the functioning of the organs, and easily at times does the body find the restrictions in the system such as for the body to easily become under the influence of that bacilli known as malarial. Natural resultant condition from a strangulated condition in the gall bladder region.

  13. Functioning of the rest of the system in accord with those conditions existent in the conditions of the body.

  14. Coagulation takes place easily in the body.

  15. The elements of the blood supply sufficient in their needs, were the ENERGY directed properly.

  16. Then, to meet the needs of the conditions of this body at the present:

  17. First we would begin and have those corrections made in the cerebro-spinal region; cervical, dorsal, and lumbar. For the correction we would have rather the osteopathic manipulation, and ADJUSTMENTS made only ONCE each week, and following such adjustments the application of the ultra Violet Ray, especially over the cardiac plexus center and the lower lumbar plexus center, for not over two minutes in each center.

  18. For the irritation as is produced in the membrane of the throat and bronchials, and lungs, we would prepare as these: First we would take 3 ounces Wild Cherry Bark, this put in 16 ounces of distilled water. Reduce by simmering to 1/2 the quantity. This made as a carrier. TO this we would add, after this has been strained, 4 ounces of beet sugar first dissolved in 2 ounces of water. Then reduce to the original quantity, or the 8 ounces. Then add:

Syrup of Horehound…2 ounces, Compound Syrup of Sarsaparilla…1 ounce, Tincture of Elixir of Stillingia…1/4 ounce, Canadian Balsam…3 minims, Creosote, Rectified…3 minims, Oil of Eucalyptus…10 minims.

Shake the solution well together before the dose is taken. Take the dose whenever there is IRRITATION for the system, or throat or bronchials, or just before lying down, see? In this same solution there should be also added Spirits Frumenti at least 4 ounces, see? All this shaken together. Don’t take them separate! but take them together!

  1. In the treatments, we would have the massage over the whole system once each week. The corrections once each week. Or two treatments each week. Do that, and at the same time see that the gall bladder is gradually drained by the osteopathic manipulations, and when such treatments are made for the draining of same be sure the alimentary canal is kept clear. This may be necessary by a mild purgative, or better still by oil enemas - but this should NOT be done oftener than twice a month. In sixty to ninety days we will have a new man. Ready for questions.

  2. (Q) What should be the dose of the medicinal properties? (A) A swallow.

  3. (Q) Any specific diet? (A) Eat what he wants!

  4. (Q) How long has this condition been going on? (A) Well, the combination of the condition has been going on for two and a half years. The condition in that of the LIVER, or the BEGINNING of it, for an even LONGER period. We are through for the present.
