This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at his office, 115 West 35th Street, Virginia Beach, Va., this 30th day of November, 1929, in accordance with request made by his wife, Mrs. […].

Time of Reading 3:30 P. M. Eastern Standard Time. …, Kentucky. (Physical Suggestion)

  1. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [5631]. We find the general condition, the body feeling somewhat better today - though the condition is VERY serious. We find there may be relief brought to the body. In the cause, we find rather the combination of conditions having to do with those of specific outside influences, as well as result of disturbances within the functioning of organs of the system. These, then, are conditions as we find them with this body, [5631] we are speaking of:

  2. THE BLOOD SUPPLY and the vitality are low, due to the over-activity of the lymphatics - especially through the alimentary canal, and that more in the jejunum than in the colon, though the colon rather the CAUSE of the disturbance - from the effect of the exterior influences in the lower lumbar and in the organ that is distressed through the inflammation as has been produced.

  3. In the constituents of the blood, the hemoglobin low, as is the red blood count, though the white rather high, considering the condition.

  4. IN THE NERVOUS SYSTEM, this naturally deflected. Tautness existent in certain portions of the cerebrospinal system from where injury was received, as well as from the over-activity of the lymphatic circulation. This showing PARTICULARLY in the right side.

  5. IN THE FUNCTIONING OF ORGANS - All show their activity, due to the conditions existent in the mesenteric system, as well as from the depression of vitality, the blood supply and the nerve energy as related to same.

  6. The information [inflammation?] to be warned of most at PRESENT is that in the mesenteric and the intestinal tract proper; so, for the IMMEDIATE needs we would use those of warm or hot packs of equal parts spirits of camphor and turpentine (spirits of turpentine) on flannel across the abdomen, and especially the right side - where the pain most severe. Change these at least every hour until relief is brought.

  7. Then begin with small doses of THIS as a compound: to 6 ounces of distilled water, add:

Alum root…1 ounce, Indian Turnip…20 grains, Ginseng (wild)…1 dram.

Reduce by slow simmering to 1/2 the quantity. Strain while warm and add 2 ounces of grain alcohol with 1 ounce of simple syrup. The dose would be a few drops in the beginning, every hour, until there is relief through the alimentary canal, and a tendency for the stopping of the diarrhea.

  1. Then we would begin with small dosage of medicated ash, giving quarter grain of same in tablespoonful of water twice each day.

  2. Let the diet be those of meat juices, preferably beef, given only as medicine. NOT spoonsful, but half a teaspoonful every thirty minutes until the appetite is satisfied. Little Graham cracker, or whole wheat bread, well toasted, with little stimulant - as weak coffee, or Ovaltine may be taken. Not that that will produce greater constipation, but that that is EASILY assimilated - as dried milk, junket, arrowroot, or such.

  3. After, then, five days, we would give further instructions. Do that at present. Wire the instructions. They need hurry. We are through for the present.
