This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at his office, 115 West 35th Street, Virginia Beach, Va., this 11th day of September, 1929, in accordance with request made by self, through Mr. [417].
[Edgar Cayce; Mrs. Cayce Conductor; Gladys Davis, Steno. Mr. L. B. Cayce and Mr. [417].]
Time of Reading 12:10 Noon - Eastern Standard Time. New York City. (Physical Suggestion)
- EC: Now, we do not find the body - but those impressions and SURROUNDINGS of same we find here, [5635]. These, as we find, as regarding the physical - while there are some troublesome conditions, these, as we find, have to do mostly with those conditions that have to do with the destructive forces as affect the system in regards the nerve and blood supply, and these - while causing distresses at times - give the varied effects or disturbances as are produced in the functioning organs; rather than distresses being caused by the functioning condition; and the pressure as is created along the cerebro-spinal are reflexes from pressures - as are changed in the form, as come to the system in the reflexes as affect the sympathetic, as related to the cerebro-spinal. These affect, then, the reactions through the secondary cardiac plexus. Also those of the lower lumbar, and will there be applied those of first the Radio-Active forces, as would come with those of the Gold - these being applied to the wrist, then altered to the opposite ankle, with the negative being applied to the upper and right portion of the umbilicus center. Altered with this we would have - that is, once or twice each week - those vibrations of the short wave length of the sinusoidal ray, and we will find those inclinations in the digestive system, those in the sympathetics - especially as related to the sensory organism - will disappear. Those of the sinusoidal, not oftener than twice each week, and not longer than three to five minutes in the beginning. The usage of these, for two to three weeks, should clear these conditions as related to the blood supply and the reflexes from the nerve systems. Do that. Ready for questions. (Pause) We are through for the present.

Reports
Reports & Follow-up
R1. 9/11/29 Mrs. [5635]‘s husband, 3:45 P.M., also had a Physical Reading, 5634-1.
R2. 10/16/29 Letter to Cayce Hospital: ”…In response to your letter of October 14 [form questionnaire], in reference to my reading of September 11th, I wrote and told you that I was dissatisfied, as I signed a paper that I would be at my home…at appointed time, 11 A.M. Eastern Standard Time. Mr. Cayce’s reading was at 12:10 noon Eastern Standard Time, at which time I was not at home. I failed to see where Mr. Cayce could give a reading of my ‘surroundings’ and expect me to follow suggestions. Therefore, I think I am entitled to another reading…”
R3. 10/22/29 EC’s letter: ”…We are making an appointment for your reading, and hope we will be able to give it at the proper time. We trust it will be more satisfactory. Would it be possible for you to arrange to come to the hospital for the reading? In that case, we could get it in much sooner - for one in the hospital has preference in making appointments. Sorry we haven’t been able to be of more service…”
R4. 11/13/29 GD’s letter explained that due to Mr. Cayce’s illness we were not able to get the reading at the time appointed and set another appointment.
R5. 11/19/29 EC’s letter: ”…Owing to unavoidable circumstances we were unable to get your reading at the appointed time. We are making another appointment for the afternoon of December 5. As we have had so many delays, this date is not satisfactory, we will be very pleased to return your membership fee if you desire. If you wish to keep the appointment please return the enclosed slip giving just where you will be during the hour set.
“Hoping this will be satisfactory and that we will be able to get the reading at this time I am sincerely.”
R6. 11/22/29 Letter: ”…I received your letter of the 19th stating that you couldn’t give me a reading until December 5th. I have kept your appointment on three different occasions only to be disappointed. As I will not be in New York December 5, I will ask you to please return the membership…”
R7. 11/25/29 EC’s Letter: ”…We are sorry indeed that we were unable to keep the appointment for you, but you must surely realize that we have a great number of requests that are very urgent, and those that are not so urgent have to at times give way for those who are in dire need. We do our best, as we see and understand it, to be fair with each and every one. I hope we may yet be able at sometime, and in some way, to be of service to you.
“We ask that you please return the reading that was sent you, that was of no good. We herewith send you a check for $10 the amount you sent in for this reading…”
