This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at his home on Arctic Crescent, Va. Beach, Va., this 3rd day of August, 1932, in accordance with request made by her parents - Mr. [261] and Mrs. [772], Active Members of the Ass”n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc.

1. EC: Yes, we have the entity and those relations with the universe and universal forces. There will be some very unusual circumstances that will follow this entity in its various stages of physical development through this experience. As to what these will be materially, or what FORM these will take, will depend upon the manner in which the entity is conducted through its formative years.

2. As there was in the entering of the entity’s inner forces into this physical body, the first will come at the age of seven, at fourteen, at twenty-two - these will be decided changes, or one will so lap over the other - but may be said to be periods when changes will come to this entity; for there was some lapse of time (as time is counted from the material) between the physical birth and the spiritual birth.

3. In giving, then, the astrological influences, these would vary considerably from that as would be seen from the spiritual - or the entity or soul experience in the earth’s plane. Were this entity’s experiences given from the purely astrological science, as accepted in many quarters, these would vary entirely from this which may be given here, or that is viewed from here - for these are the Akashian records of the entity’s or soul’s development. As to how the present experience, with its environs, will be acted or influenced by the present environ and surrounding will have little influence from the astrological standpoint. The entity will be governed rather by the reaction of the experience in the earth’s plane through its appearances, rather than astrological influences.

4. Therefore, as seen in the former appearances and the influence they have in the present:

In the one before this we find the entity in that environ about that land now known as Vinland or old Providence Town, during those periods when there were the preparations for the associations of individuals into groups, that made up the small groups and settlers in that particular period. The entity was then associated with those who had come from the lands farther north. This was not in the earlier period, nor in that period when they had become States - but rather as the Colonists, and those that had the changes in the association of the groups. The political and the religious ideas were the divisions of the people at the time. The entity’s name in the present has been well chosen, for then it was Judy Clark. There may be much found at present that is as hearsay, as well as some permanent records, among those of a church here - Ann Church - Ann is the name of the church here - Martha Ann. The records show as to the activities there, and the entity was once tried in the church for the activities - and among those that were persecuted. Not as one that disobeyed, in some respects, but one that was very headstrong in its likes and dislikes. From this experience it will be seen in the present that there will be very decided likes and dislikes, in individuals, in things, in activities and in those things that pertain to the relationships of the body in its physical and mental activity with others. These, as we find, will be either suppressed, and others take their place, or gradually will they be changed in their present environ to the same impelling forces but altered only in their present surroundings and conditions. Hence, as these influence the entity in the present, much care should be exercised as respecting, especially, the MOULDING years, or from now to the tenth to twelfth year, that these are not only in precept but in example. While others in the formative years may be, in their ages, in the attitude of WONDERMENT at what is being told, there will be little told THIS entity - unless it is by precept AND example - that will ever be a wonderment to it! yet tales of certain natures and kinds will ALWAYS be of interest. These should preferably be of the morals that deal with the control of the physical through the mental abilities of an individual. That’s the character that should be represented in the tales or stories that may be told to the developing mind. Rather than those of the nature where resentment is held, or persecutions come, for these will only make for more resentment or resistance in the mind of this entity [566] in the present - Judy Clark in that experience.

6. In the one then before this we find in that period in the land now called England when there were many changes being made in the manner in which those people were ruled, during those periods when the exercising of the authority in Church and State were being divided in their activities, or during that period of Alfred the Great, as called. The entity then, in the name Maud Johnsons, was in the household of those close to the rulers of the church that influenced the people in that particular period. Hence the suppressions that were brought upon the entity during this period made for that resentment which found expression in the experience following. In seeking to find a manner of outlet FOR those expressions did the entity enter in as Clark. As to the activities or influences these will have upon the entity in the present, the reasoning of developing powers that make for cause and effect to the entity will be a WIELDING influence; that is, when there is quiet, and NOT those things that cause turmoil, the entity may be reasoned WITH, to bring about WHATEVER activities may be sought for the body, the mind, the soul development. In the after periods, or when past fourteen, these may change entirely. In the present, as the tree is bent so will it grow.

7. In the one before this we find in those periods when there were the Grecian activities in the game, in the body development, in the MENTAL development; or in that period that is known as the period of INFLUENCE by those people who heard Socrates in his dissertation to the young. The entity then was outspoken for self, even as the activities that meant for suppression; yet with the abilities in the name Xenobian - the entity gained MENTALLY, gained spiritually, through this experience, and it will be found that if the developments are carried in the proper direction in the present, few there will be who will be able to resist the mental, the physical and spiritual attractions of the body. As a debater, lecturer, writer, or such, may it make for itself in the present a name to be envied by many. Hence these will find their greater influence in the experience of the entity when it has passed its second change, or these will be expressive especially in that period between fourteen and twenty-two. These will of necessity be formative years also, but the entity will have declared itself - and WILL declare itself - in no uncertain terms - by this period.

8. Those warnings that would be given are of injuries, either from disease or accident to the feet and lower limbs. This would be in the EARLIER portion of this experience, for in that experience did these come about in some of the entity’s activities as in an athletic turn.

9. In the one before this we find in that land known as the Egyptian, during those periods when there were the turmoils from the disorders that arose from the banishing of the priest. The entity then was among those of the temple who aided in the activities of the social and material relationships, and was one that acted in the capacity of the dance - and ministered to those during the periods of recreation in the temple that partook of the social, the filial, and the man-to-man relations. Through this experience the entity developed in part, losing when there were those suppressions of the activities through the changes wrought by the banishments, and the changes in the powers at that experience; yet with the return, the establishing of those various homes and the activities of the entity then, as Iselia, the entity gained; for it then became one in power, through that exercised by the companion in the exchange of those conditions in the foreign lands, that brought about closer relationships with the priest, as the developments of those material things came about - and brought affluence, effluence, that made for a great development. In the present there will be seen particularly the exercising of the body as related to symphony, or these will be of particular interest as the developing periods come; and more the necessity of those trainings in the formative years that may bring a HEALTHY body, an OPEN mind, and a spirit with an ideal. Keep ever in that position in its development that an ideal of the SPIRITUAL nature is held before the entity, that those developments may bring about something to rely upon in whatever stress the mental or material forces may be placed.

”…I want to tell you all how very interesting Mrs. [772] and I found the two readings of the children. They portray most accurately their characteristics as shown at their present stage of development and they should be helpful in their future training.

“The early years of [566] are apparently very important and more than ordinarily difficult to guide properly. In [566]‘s reading you will recall it stated that there was a lapse of time between the physical birth and the spiritual birth. You will be interested to know that a caesarian operation was performed at her birth.

“Both readings mention ‘Vinland’ and both ‘Providence Town’ according to the encyclopedia the exact location of Vinland is a mooted question - the readings apparently locate it definitely in New England. Is ‘Providence Town’ - Providence, R. R4. 11/29/36 Letter from [261] to GD:

“Enclosed are suggestions in connection with reading for [566] about which I spoke to you this morning. There is no rush about it, though I hope it can be given fairly soon after your return to Va. Beach.

As you will see from the questions we have our hands rather full with [566]. She is as you know - very bright and can be very nice when she wants to and a little devil when she doesn’t. It may be that she is not as well as she should be or it will be interesting to see what the reading says. Her life reading predicted quite a change in her when she is seven - that will be next April. I hope the change is for the better and not for the worse…”

Sounds like a fascinating prospect and wish I could be of some help.” [GD’s note: She signed [566], her maiden surname and her married name; thus she has eliminated the use of the middle name which is the same as her sister’s name. Probably the “Edith” was never used or even considered.]

R11. 2/5/66 “Daddy [261] died on Dec. of 1962 and Mother [772] died the following year in August, after also being ill for quite a while. It was a long siege for both of them and [628] and I were relieved when the end came. [628] lives …

“I graduated from … College in 1951, worked in NYC for a few years, and then married and have lived in …, N.Y. ever since. I have two daughters […], 10/21/58, and […], 5/29/64. The latter looks a little bit like Daddy [261]. My husband runs a boat yard here and right now we shovel snow. I guess even you had some in this last storm.”

B2. 9/5/30 Father [261] on his application for 261-1 listed his children “[628] and infant [566] not yet named.” Notice that [566] was 4 mos. old and not yet named. When applying for the Life Rdg. her name was given as “[566] [628]” - in other words her middle name was the same as her older sister’s first and only given name. [On 2/27/41 see 566-1, Par. R6 in re 566-9, a Physical Rdg. giving her a FIRST name instead of the MIDDLE name of her sister.]
