-
GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time. You will diagnose the case thoroughly, giving the cause of the existing conditions, also the treatment for the cure and relief of this body.
-
EC: Yes, we have the body here.
-
Now, we find there are more the effects of abnormal conditions with this body than purely abnormal conditions. Hence there needs be rather the warnings for the better physical conditions, and those things and conditions necessary that the body keep that resistance necessary to ward against and over come those effects of the deflections as are in system by the body overcoming those conditions.
-
These, then, are the conditions as we find at the present time in this body, [5712], we are speaking of. First:
-
IN THE BLOOD SUPPLY, this we find very good in many respects. The number of red blood cells, while low in number, are efficient in recuperative force. The white blood cells are excessive in number, and necessary that this condition be kept much in that manner, for the full recuperation of the conditions.
-
IN THE NERVE SYSTEM, this very good in many respects, though this the seat of the condition, or from overtaxation and from nerve exhaustion the condition first began that caused the distress in the bronchials, larynx and lungs proper. In the present condition, then, those subluxations as have existed, and as still exist to the extent as to be detrimental, were they allowed to remain so, and the body resume its normal occupation and exercise, those as exist in the 6th, 7th dorsal, and the plexus from same, supplying that nutriment or incentive for the circulation through the portion of lungs, as have been involved.
-
IN THE ORGANS OF THE BODY, brain forces very good.
-
Organs of the sensory system show the effect of the conditions as have existed, but are near to normal in many respects at present.
-
In the throat, bronchials, lungs and larynx, we find there is no broken tissue at present, yet that of those conditions that may, through overtaxation in exposure, cold or congestion, break and cause disturbing conditions, unless these are warned against and the corrections made in the cerebrospinal system.
-
In the digestive system, this very good at the present time. This has been looked after wonderfully well, for nerve exhaustion produced a nervous digestion.
-
Liver very good at present, and its activity in the system, in cleansing and in giving off that necessary for digestion, is very good.
-
Kidneys show rather the effect of the nerve strain, and of that strain in which the blood supply has been put, as it were, for eliminations, and this is that condition again to be warned against. Do not allow the system to be over clogged in eliminations, for the kidneys would be the first portion of system to suffer from same, under the existent conditions. Necessarily, this may change, by the atmosphere, or by the water as taken, yet these conditions as exist at present.
-
Then, to give the better conditions for the body, and for that in which the entity may resume its normal functions, and in normal conditions, would be the correction first of those conditions as exist in the cerebrospinal system. Osteopathically should these adjustments be made, for the unison and the unification of the other portions of the system, with this adjustment, would be necessary. Then, at least thirteen such adjustments should be made.
-
Keep as an inhalant occasionally those properties as are found in this:
To 4 ounces of pure grain alcohol, add:
Eucalyptol…20 minims, Rectified Oil of Turp…5 minims, Balsam of Fir…3 minims, Tincture of Tolu (in solution)…30 minims, Benzosol…5 minims.
-
Keep solution in glass corked container, and at least twice the size of the quantity of solution. Shake solution well to-gether before inhalants are taken, which should be taken through the nostrils and through the mouth, for we want, with same, to clarify and cleanse the mucus coating in the nasal cavity, and in the bronchials, throat and lungs. Inhale only, but inhale deep, whenever is necessary - at least once each day to keep the system clear.
-
Keep the eliminations in the system (that is, through the intestinal tract) acting normally and properly, even though enemas and cleansing of the colon is resorted to - which is well for anyone to do, for through same many re-infections take place by overtaxing the system with drosses from fermentation as takes place in ascending or traverse [transverse] colon.
-
With this, and keeping this in this way and manner, we would find the body would be near normal.
-
Do that, [5712].
-
We are through.

Reports & Follow-up
R1. 8/29/26 Mr. [5712]‘s letter to EC:
…, Colo.
Edgar Cayce, Virginia Beach, Va.
Dear Mr. Cayce:
Your physical reading was received Tuesday. It is remarkable in its correctness of diagnosis. The condition as explained as being in the “6 & 7 dorsal” has been verified & found to be as stated. The condition of the blood has been verified thru a “blood count” & also found to be exactly as stated in the reading.
I have had the prescription filled & am using it. It seems to be very soothing & I am sure it will help me.
I have had two osteopathic treatments & intend to carry out the instructions in this regard to the letter.
I don’t know how to tell you how grateful I am to you for your wonderful help. I feel, at last that I am on the right track after many mistakes and much suffering.
I sincerely hope that your life will be spared many years to carry on this divine work.
I am enclosing a check for this reading. It isn’t commensurate with the help you’ve been to me, but when I return to work I will send you more. Will let you hear from me from time to time & when I next come east I’m coming to Virginia Beach to see you & thank you personally.
I am eagerly looking forward to my “Life” reading.
Again thanking you, believe me
Sincerely yours, [5712]
P.S. - Will you please make a “physical” reading of my wife - [See 5711-1, given 11/11/26.]
REMARKS
(You will please state in the space below how near, in your opinion, reading fits your condition, as you know it yourself, and if you expect to carry out the suggestions made for the improvement of your health.)
Reading absolutely fits my case - Correct in every detail -
Will carry out the instructions as faithfully as I can.
R2. 9/4/26 Mr. [3712]‘s Life Reading was given, 5712-2.
R3. 9/24/26 “Have been taking prescription and treatments as advised. Results have been interrupted by severe cold - am sure they will be beneficial.”
R4. 10/19/26 Mr. [5712]‘s report:

Edgar Cayce, Virginia Beach, Va.
Dear Mr. Cayce:
As you asked me to keep you advised, from time to time, relative to my condition, am writing you an outline of my experience since receiving your reading.
After starting the osteopathic treatments, as you suggested, the osteopath advised (after x-ray pictures, blood count and consultation with two dentists) that I have all of my teeth extracted. I consented to this & the dentist pulled a few teeth at a time, the whole process requiring about six weeks. I was interrupted once by a bad cold as I wrote you. During these six weeks I was on a liquid diet, & just after the teeth were all out my stomach went back on me & for the last two weeks I have been fighting that. I am bothered about my diet both because of my stomach & my new teeth.
There was no doubt, after my teeth were extracted, that many of them were badly abscessed & all of these should have been out a long while ago. The reaction because the pulling was terrific & as a result of the suffering, loss of blood & inability to eat solid food, I have lost considerable weight.
The specific things about which I would like your help are the following:
Assistance in overcoming constipation & biliousness -
Proper diet to build me back to normal & help me put on additional weight.
To date I have had thirteen osteopathic treatments - but because of the conditions as outlined above & in view of the fact that the osteopath discovered more trouble in the spinal cord than mentioned in your reading - how many more treatments should be necessary.
Am still using the inhalant & believe it is helping me.
Of course all of this has retarded my return to work, but it seemed the only thing to do.
I have been away from work now for a year, lacking a few weeks & I am anxious to resume activities as soon as possible, so any assistance which you can give me now will be gratefully appreciated.
Sincerely yours
R5. 11/11/26 EC gave the Physical Reading for Mr. [5712]‘s wife, [5711].
R6. 11/12/26 EC wrote that he was delayed in getting the second Physical Reading for Mr. [5712] due to his mother’s death, etc., but asked Mr. [5712] to submit questions.
R7. 11/18/26 Mr. [5712], in reporting on his wife’s reading [See 5711-1], wrote: “I don’t believe it will be necessary to have another reading for me. I am getting along fairly well altho it is a slow battle.
“Again thanking you for your help and wishing you every good thing in life, I am,” Sincerely yours
