This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at his office, 115 West 35th Street, Virginia Beach, Va., this 3rd day of August, 1926, in accordance with request made by Mr. [953].

[Edgar Cayce; Mrs. Cayce, Conductor; Gladys Davis, Steno. Dr. and Mrs. T. B. House.]

Time of Reading 10:30 A. M. Eastern Standard Time. Chicago, Ill.

  1. GC: You will give the physical condition of this body at the present time, with suggestions for the relief and improvement of same.

  2. EC: Yes, we have the body here. This we have had before. There are many changes in the body since last we had this here. The general physical forces are very good in many ways, yet the weakened condition as produced by the strain on the kidneys brings distress to the body.

  3. We would only give, however, for the correction of the condition, to be very careful regarding the diet and the eliminations in the system, and with these juices we would find the system rebuilding in the normal manner. We would use this:

  4. Take at least the juice of two to three pounds of steak, or beef (fresh), each day. None of the meat, but the juice. This, in itself, would apparently be heavy for the kidneys, under strain, yet the system is in that condition as is needed for this condition to produce some counter-irritation, as would be brought by this condition. Adding, then, as this: To each three tablespoonsful of such solution (that is, the beef juice), add Syrup of Pepsin one minim, Oil of Sassafras one minim. See? This, as we see, will meet the needs of the condition in the assimilations as created by this condition.

  5. Then, as much green vegetable matter as the system will assimilate. Eat only Graham Crackers with the juice or tea. The green vegetable, such as cabbage (fresh, crisp pieces), celery, lettuce, and that nature, see?

  6. Drink PLENTY of water. No stimulants, as tea or coffee. Cocoa or Postum may be taken in small quantities. These would be very good, especially, for the condition of the body (which is to be body building for two, you see, the nursing).

  7. These conditions, and the care of the body in general - keeping plenty of water for the system, internal and external, and we will find we will build the body to its normal resistance.

  8. Do that.

  9. We are through with this reading.
